In a time before the days of Twilight Sparkle, a young male unicorn named Midnight Hour lives a normal life as the one responsible for magically restarting the town clock of Fillydelphia. On an ordinary day, he comes across a mysterious stallion who demonstrates a strange new invention. When Midnight accidentally destroys this device his presence is requested by Princess Celestia herself. He learns from her that the mysterious pony is in fact a powerful enemy who threatens to overthrow Equestria using his machines. Now that he realizes his duty as the only one who can defeat the mechanical menace, Midnight must bring down the devious fiend with a little help from his friends, his brother, his crush, and even an unlikely ally. Will Midnight rise to the challenge and save Equestria from certain doom?
