Before her date with Twilight, Rarity discovers an acorn in her beloved's bag and sneaks it out. However, Twilight returns sooner than expected and Rarity must find a way to put it back without her noticing. This leads to an adventure with a bird, romance, more birds, and more romance.
An exquisite corpse is a form of collaborative art where each participant only knows about part of the whole work, and must complete their part with limited context. In this case, each writer only had access to the previous chapter, resulting in the story getting confused, yet still moving forward undeterred. The exception is me having full context when writing the first and last chapters.
Participating writers were me, Nonchalant, kits, Lingo, Undome Tinwe, Lofty Withers, and Falk0.
that is an absolutely ridiculous premise
I'm very excited to read it
This is far more coherent than I expected!
Good job, everyone.
Well this was fun to be a part of. It's a beautiful chaotic mess.
It was an interesting experience, and I really like what a funny and pretty story came out in result.
I suspect that Rarity would faint dramatically if she saw the term "exquisite corpse" applied to her. I can't decide whether her reaction would be worse before or after Twilight helped solve the obvious problem of her eventually becoming one.
My first instinct when seeing this was "What is Andrei Codrescu doing posting pony fiction?" (One of my favorite people to listen to on NPR)
His journal of books and ideas ran for an extraordinary amount of time and has... Well... Too many interesting things for me to read if I live to be a hundred. So nice to see this kind of insanity in pony form.
This is fantastic, as is the whole tale. Thank you for a very exquisite corpse indeed.
Wow this actually ended up being a really good story. Guess I shouldn't be surprised given the other authors involved and the quality of the chapter I received, but I'm usually used to these things going way off the rails. But it was coherent and really sweet overall.
Reminded me of how dreams can change story and events at a moment’s notice.
This chapter was wild and I appreciated it.
S'ok
I almost died.
Only Twilight would remember a cubiversary.
nice, nice
Love "markers and iceboxes", gotta remember that one. :)
Ponies Eating Acorns: The Musical
yessss, we have officially forgotten the acorn's relationship to anything! XD
I'm sad one of those three things was not somepony swallowing it again. :V
what
How'd the ending end up tying everything together so well? :D

Well that's because unlike the other authors, I actually read all the previous chapters, but yes, things did work out such that a wrap up chapter was possible at all.

I figured it was something like that. :P
