The mystery slowly starts to unravel itself, the action moving on to a larger scale...

Lots of fun, interesting little ideas here, complemented by an engaging cast of characters – I'm eager to see what will come next!

Well, the story was kinda dragging in the initial couple of chapters, but then redeemed itself magnificently! Will gladly await for more : )

Thank you so much for sticking to it! I probably just worked a little hard at the start so I could establish the characters. Hoping to finish chapter 8 soon!

This is an interesting story and I’m enjoying where it’s going.

My only real issues with it are the grammar and spelling ones, as well as a number of missing or wrong words, sprinkled throughout. I hope that gets addressed at some point.

10028140
Trying to work on it. I had initially planned to release a few at a time but when it got approved they all just went public. In the process of trying to fix some of those.

Glad you've enjoyed yourself during the reading. Hope the next chapters will live up to your expectations!

Well, taking out some spelling mistakes, the story is quite interesting so far, waiting for updates!

Although I have a question, does this happen in an AU after S9? Is EqG canon in this AU?

10029190
This is post Season 9, EqG is canon, but is a *separate* world from this earth. The story itself will mostly be staying within the established canon of the show while filling in a few blank areas with my personal headcanons. It could technically be considered an AU but since everything here is after established canon has ended that's a fuzzy area.

Well expectations are met for this here chapter, at the very least! :raritywink:

Really appreciated how atmospheric Angela's part was (if you'll pardon the pun). Jake finds a silver lining to the dark clouds of their life, and it'll be interesting to see how they go from there, now that we know a little more about their precarious situation. And Arty's difficult experience with his cutie mark opens up a potentially very interesting discussion on free will and destiny; he'd certainly have a very different perspective on this than ponies of Equestrian culture.

All in all a quite pleasant chapter, though I think the form would benefit from a slight polish so it doesn't detract from the engaging tale.

I do need to work a bit on the overall grammar. Glad you enjoyed Angela’s part and her experience. Watching the show I kind of got a subtle feeling that perhaps cutie marks are a bit more insidious than were let on.

Thanks again for reading and the early review!

He nods with a smile “Yep, that’s probably Angela. She’s...a bit competitive you could say. We don’t have a book club or anything, but our library is in room 101.” He finishes before extending his hand in a friendly shake. I oblige him and his friend follows suit only for us both to give a small yelp as we shock each other.

IT SPREADS!!!!
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Oh It's just getting started...

I'm kinda imagining them both getting to the vet and being like
"But doctor, there really was an unicorn here"

10034817
Aaron: Honestly it was here!
Vet: Mhmm, now here's a drug test to make sure it isn't contagious.

Something that has been bugging me (heh): is artemis's change voluntary? Like conscious or semi-subconscious?

10034852
It very much isn't voluntary At least not yet...

10034852
I must say your comments are most appreciated.

“Ponies! Our land has been invaded! Your loved ones have been stolen, not killed, by Chrysalis! Cadence has been replaced once more, and their spies trot among us! Today we will strike back, together . Rainbow Dash is missing, and Fluttershy has joined the immortal stream of harmony. Yet today we have a chance to make things right. My ponies, my friends let’s take back Equestria together . WHO’S WITH ME!” I yell to the crowd that cheers in response.

Translation: she died

KILL THEM, KILL THE HERETICS:flutterrage:

10034919
Spoiler!

Can neither confirm nor deny said statement will be a bit more explained later

10034887
Happy to help
10035028
Oh well, I'll have to wait and see

Yay, Tempest! The princess appointed wisely ^^

Interesting to see how Jake is dealing – or is trying to deal, rather – with their new instincts, and what it implies for changelings as a whole. Going back to school will certainly be a challenge!

And the Parasprite Invasion has begun!!

(oh, and thanks for the unexpected shout out XD )

I'm quite happy to bring her in. She just has so much character potential that she can add!

Changeling lore is something I've always been fascinated by, just so much potential for different aspects of culture and their society.

Thanks so much for your editing and review, always happy to see your comments ;)

I really like the lore and culture you've depicted for the bat ponies and it surely fits with what I've kind of envisioned them as well. The lore for bat ponies is left for our imaginary bat pony minds to fill the gaps with. Allowing many possibilities and theories of what they are and what they can do. It's unfortunate they never got a lot of screen time during the entire period of the gen 4.

I rarely find human or transformative stories all that interesting in general, but I can safely say this is an exception. It somehow.. Fits. In a way, I can't really describe, like a puzzle piece that when you complete a puzzle. A sense of accomplishment and satisfaction in a way it all fits together.

I'm really looking forward to more chapters! Particularly during the full moon~

10042724
I'm really glad you like it! I've always wanted to delve deeper into the lore of the different cultures. Not just what they can do, but how their societies are shaped by what they can do. It really was a tragedy we never got to see more of them.

I'm glad that this novel is something you've still been able to enjoy despite having to deal with the annoying human parts ;). You've always been a good friend and supportive through my writing. I can only hope it lives up to your expectations~

Next class is math, calculus to be exact. I take a deep breath, “ Normal people don’t like math...normal people don’t like math.” I repeat as bit of a mantra to quell my nerdom. I enter class, thankfully not late this time. I pick a seat near the middle edge. Close enough to answer a question without the whole class turning back to look, but not in the front enough to be stared at the whole time. Brilliant! I smile a little to myself. What could possibly go wrong?

Famous last words. Do you want them baked, boiled or deep-fried?

“Artemis...that really wasn’t necessary.” My father chides while Lindsey texts on her phone. “Arguing with her will only make her more stubborn, you just have to let things play out.”

My brother was the same way. :twilightangry2:

I just happened across this and I find it really interesting. Liking it so far and all the different dynamics happening in both the main characters and background.

10043160
Glad to see that you found it interesting, thanks for taking the time to comment!

10042844
Siblings can be siblings sometimes. might've had some inspiration from my own

10042842
Why boiled of course! Because that's how you end up in hot water ;)

“Don’t you see how important this is? For the first time in over 35 years we have magic again!” His face is stained with tears, his eyes caring no small amount of jealousy as he gestures to me with his hand kneeling awkwardly in front of me to sort of match my height. “Your birth mother struggled with the transition to earth, yet she still wanted a child. Once we settled here we had you, shortly after your birth she died of magic starvation. She dreamed you’d one day be able to see what we truly were one day and here it has happened!”

He says "one day" twice.

10044698
Oof--still working on all the spelling errors. Thanks for catching it

So I discovered this story about a week ago, and just caught up. I just want to say that this story is absolutely amazing! Can’t wait to see where it goes!

10059340
Thank you!
I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed it, PN is it? ;)
Hoping to get the next chapter out this weekend or next. I'm also trying to make a picture for it which may slow things a little, thanks for the comment!

Praise be to our glorious leader!

Hey! Ho! HUZZAAAAAAH!!!!

Hehe, wouldn’t say I’m the best speechwriter, especially for best pony, but I’m glad you enjoyed it ;)

Action ramps up, as some of our various narrators cross paths!

Still love what you're doing with bat ponies, their powers and their culture. It was really interesting to see how it impacted Mike's actions, both in combat and outside, as well as the different views of his parents.

And as for this last revelation... The implications are fascinating!

Good chapter! Also Angela needs to lay off Artemis, of course he is having a hard time with his body. It is a huge dissonance to become something you dont want to be. And it is getting increasingly harder for him to not be a female pony like his body wants to be. I am so glad mike's mother talked some sense into his dad cause that was about to go south real quick.

10086084
It really is, its not like he could warm up to the idea just overnight either. That much of a radical shift of life perspective isn't easy to cope with. Angie is just jealous as can be that not only is he getting all the transformations, but that he isn't doing anything with it. Being dead and able to only observe for a couple decades will get you quite the perspective.

10086078
Just a little action here and there...certainly more to come later on. I'm quite happy with the bat pony lore side. It was a bit inspired by The Shadow Hunters (for the use of runes), this chapter was also intended to highlight a little of the dangers of their magic that his father had ignored up until now.

Hope the explanation will be worth the wait when I get the next chapter out!

And the pieces are falling into place...

The chapter really steps up a notch from previous ones. The bat culture and their abilities as you interpret them are all fascinating and very interesting as always and their seemingly bitter rivalry against changelings (according to Eclipse, but that's just his perspective after all.) Bat ponies have been my fascination and I love to hear others thoughts and headcanons on it.

Combat was rather exciting too, even if short but I wouldn't of course want an entire chapter dedicate on fighting. For Mike, it would be difficult to take a life, then again he was in danger of being killed by one. What will guarantee that he won't take one in the future? Looks like he will establish some truth in the matter whether changelings can truly change.

And a cliffhanger! Grr, you know how much it begs me to want a next chapter as soon as possible!

All in all, a fun read and looking forward for more! A moment of respite for our heroes.. For now.

“ AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!”

Real monsters!!!! :derpytongue2:

The Equestrian royal guard's direst enemy is finally revealed: pizza-eating, camera-wielding, bondage-happy jerks!

10136066
Not really "enemies" just some teenagers thinking they can earn a buck off of keeping a unicorn as a pet. xD

10136009
Free Fall is no joke. Especially without a parachute

Oh great one of those kind of teacher. Poor arty

10136426
Lots of teachers out there, many of them a little crazy. I mean, you have to be to teach kids after all.
