Ooh. The aliens got her. I don’t know whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing, but at least she’s out of the way for now.
Well now I'm real curious what just grabbed Unity. I mean frankly it could be a raider for all I care as long as that little brat can't get back to annoyingly OP mode. She cost us best Brotherhood Grandpa afterall.
Forgot to check your six, Unity? Complacency will be the death of you.
And now we see the Brotherhood: Alive..... but rocked to it's core.

I don't think it was the aliens, but we'll see.
In case anyone is wondering what that thing at end most likely was it’s this

Technically it’s just called the Flatwoods Monster but uhh we all know what it looks like and is heavily implied to be a Zetan. So uh welcome to SPAAAACE.
I thought it was Liberty Prime working on the rule. If theres no body that you havent personally disintegrated with a known method and in a known mannerwith a known result, the enemy is still alive?
Like I said, if they don't find a body, the villain will be back. Like the Temarenator on Judgement Neigh.
Looks like well be seeing her again in mothership Zeta.
So far so good. May I ask how many Chapters in Total? Can hardly wait for the next Chapter(s).
I wonder who this is?
Maybe it could be aliens or it could be, since Nevada is close after Organon and Idaho so it could be other ones like Mr. House's new robots or big mountain think tank, either way Unity might get experimented on and may become weaker over time, I'm being hopeful that is the case.
Did... did Unity just get abducted by aliens?
1) Franklin Horrigan. Say what i will about him, he will give his life time and again for the Enclave. A LOYAL soldier through and through.
2) Unity is not done for. She's just going under the management of another.
Definitely more convenient than stripping butt naked and doing jumping jacks in front of your friends, fellow soldiers and strangers to prevent hypothermia.
A once great army laid low.
I’m not sure who or what that was, but at least Unity’s nobody’s problem for now.
Good chapter.
why is no one talking about the fact that Dash might be deaf?
11156319
In the fallout universe if their is prosthetics and implants, I'm not going to be surprise their is going to be ear implants for damage ear drums and with the R&D of the Enclave their could be some in medical for soldiers that have hearing loss over the years or implants for Horrigan to add increase hearing but was not able to do.
11156336
Yeah, this exactly
11156319
It may just be temporary. Or the Enclave may have a fix with some super medicine or implant.
11156222
All hail great wisdom. Along with the other maxim.
Overkill does not exist. There is only confirmed obliteration or hit it again and twice as hard.
11156319
Because right now she's in a bit of injury limbo where she is either permanently deaf and will need implants or cybernetics (which I'm sure exist in the Fallout universe if brains-in-jars can function outside their own body that is acting on its own) or that it was only a temporary issue that she'll need to see a doctor and be back to normal in a few hours/days.
These past two chapters... man.
After a bit of buildup, that was some satisfying payoff. Now there's an ugly mass of mental, physical, and emotional healing to do. A hint was dropped way back that one of the girls might die and we're all on edge about when, where, and how that's going to/might happen.
I am a little bothered that unity wasn't finished off for good. Considering what it took to stop her, she was just too much to still be running around out there. But at least she isn't an active threat at the moment.
I'm very curious about what's happened to Horrigan. Being hit with the friendship laser tends to leave some sort of changes.
Overall though, this just keep escalating for the Rainbooms. Every time they think they've taken and survived the worst the wasteland can offer, something new rears its ugly head and gives them a new scar that seems to be just a little bigger than the last one.
I think this is the first time Rainbow Dash has really suffered an injury of significance. Most of the time she's just been concerned about how she can keep those around her from getting hurt while she just seems untouchable. But now she's probably suffered a devastating blow to her ego. (as well as the physical trauma) Also, she got taken over by unity twice after escaping once because she just so happened to go to the wrong place at the wrong time. That's got to be humiliating for her.
Hay here is a thought with half of the Enclave Divided that would mean their is going to be a civil war between two faction in the the ones that like to take over and eliminate the brotherhood of steel and those that suffered under the secrecy of the corrupted official who wants the old world government back. but here is the thing the Enclave are old world having an organized body that has equal goal of the rest is to survive and eliminate the rider groups and slavers to finally bring the America back, but new and not the old world government that the Enclave killed.
Maybe the hint of one of them dying could mean one of the people they are trying to get them home or maybe it is one of them it is hard to say, but this is one thing I am going to admit the Enclave's old mind set of greed has brought them defeat after defeat it is time to make a change for the people under the Enclave and for the people of the capital wasteland.
Hmm, yeah I would be feeling a little awkwies too if some power crazed tyrannical monster had taken control of my brain and tried to make me sleep with one of my best friends against my will and theirs (even if I did have like a major crush on them and um, let's be honest, Rarity and AJ totally fit that bill). That is gonna be such a hectic convo when they do address it... and I am so there and excited to read it (kind of hoping some beans might be spilled there too... - yes, if you couldn't tell, I am quite invested in this ship).
I know I said this last chapter, but I'm really really looking forward to see what happens with Dash next. I feel like so far everyone but her has gotten some sort of major injury, whether that be mental or physical, except for her and so far the injuries that the Rainbooms have gotten, kind of hit home for most of them, e.g:
- Rarity loves to sew and create, but her arm injury makes that more difficult.
- AJ likes to look strong and brave like a mother figure, but she feels like her PTSD makes her look weak (she also likes control but you 100% can't control PTSD which must feel like an added blow).
- Pinkie loves laughter and happiness and thrives/relies on it as a strong foundation for her character, but her negative feelings and signs of depression (particularly early on with what happened at Rivet City) put this all (and therefore her sense of life and identity) in jeopardy.
- Fluttershy is all about kindness, caring, love and compassion (I mean kindness is literally her element of harmony) but her mutation means she needs to drink blood (which is symbolic of drinking the life from something) to stop from literally hurting people which would not only be confronting, but also the exact opposite of what she stands for (not to mention be hard to deal with as the empath she is).
- Twilight, like AJ, also likes to be in control of things, but she can't control her body on her own because of what happened to her back. Also, I know the wastelands have changed all the girl's mindsets towards hurting others to survive, but I feel like Twilight was one of the characters that had the most to change and the hardest time of it too (as well as Fluttershy and Pinkie) and she was doing it the slowest but then it became very rapid (which comes with it's own problems because when things are happening quickly, it's harder to adjust) and the result of that was especially evident in the previous chapter, where it was almost like she had no emotions or feeling and was indifferent about a lot of things she previously would have felt strongly about. While this has happened to her before (like when she's used her magic to hurt someone in an extreme and over the top way), she always comes back from it and then becomes overwhelmed, but I have a feeling this time she won't be coming back like she has in the past. It all lacks order, which must drive her insane, but it's also a pattern and I think on some level she finds comfort in the fact it is a pattern, therefore creating a strange kind of order and a bit of a trauma bond to it (because she seeks order).
- Sunset is an interesting one to judge in terms of her injuries hitting home because she has taken both significant physical (like when she almost died at the start from that ruptured kidney) and mental injuries, but they don't seem to directly oppose any of her characteristics as greatly as the others injuries do for them. I mean, obviously the significant thing for her is that her mental state had been stripped and burned and set on fire and incinerated which is going to be extremely hard to recover from, not to mention her stress must be through the roof and I'm pretty sure high levels of stress are not so good for you.
So I'm super interested to see how this injury pans out for Dash, because I think if her hearing is permanently impacted (even if it can be improved with an aid) it will hit home like the other's major injuries have. I think it would definitely affect her self-esteem and self-worth, which are two things she has been depending on to help her get through this, and they are also things that, like Pinkie and laughter, make her, her. Like AJ, she also craves to look independent and strong, like she doesn't need help and I think having some sort of hearing aid would challenge this (in a similar way AJ's PTSD challenges her). She likes to be the best at everything, but from what we know so far... her hearing currently is well, not the best.
As always, thank you thank you for this chapter. I legit sit on the edge of my seat for your updates and when they come out, it always makes my day, so I just want you to know how much I appreciate all your effort and hard work.
11156563
cybernetics do indeed exist in fallout
11156628
Maybe in a twisted way this for other people who have some form of life changing injury, some people will need to become humbaled and learn to ecome greater or fall down deeper, this is a test the wastland has given many people some or most have failed or succeded in their own rignt despite that. That is my opinion.
11156236
Honestly? I have no idea. My rough plan calls for 300 - 350, but that's just a very wild guess. Off the top of my head, it'll probably end somewhere around the 1 million word mark.
11156721
I appreciate it! Don't worry, Dash's health and the Rarijack issue will both be getting some screen time very soon!
Hahahahahahahaha even after like TWO orbital strikes,Unity is STILL alive in some form amazing.
The beginning detailing the survivors grimly and silently surveying the utter destruction of The Citidel is powerful tho; I can picture the established shots of them looking outward at want transpired witha range of emotions.
Also seems Rainbow may finally gotten her "mark" from the Wasteland due to her ear injury; a physical dent into her ego and loyalty to her fellow friendship.
Took me a few days to binge this. Time well spent. Looking forward to the next chapter.
With the numbers given before the battle of Adams AFB (and reducing a little to consider the casualties), let's say there were 500-600 members of the brotherhood in the citadel, that's only about 10% survivors at best, and even considering those who weren't in the citadel, it wouldn't even reach a quarter of the total numbers
Die at once, wretched creature, you desecrate this world with your mere presence
