once more, children who live in a tinder box seek out a match with which to play...
Such a good story
Wait, this is still updating? Wow.
82 chapters, is there an ending in sight? It seems pretty regularly updated at least...
And the chapters aren't disgustingly long...
Tension between the Rainbooms and their allies? Not good, especially with all that’s going to happen soon.
Getting trained by the Family should do Fluttershy a world of good. If she can’t be cured of her mutation, then at least she’ll be able to better suppress its effects and teach the baby I’m sure she and Adam will have to do the same thing if she passes it onto them.
It’s great to see Arthur getting put in his place. You go, Maddy!
Horrigan lives! It would’ve been a waste to kill him off after adding depth to his character. Now it seems likes he’ll side with the good guys! Awesome!
Hopefully the rivalry between Acheson and Vess can be exploited. Two birds, one stone.
Is this means you’re going to add the events of Broken Steel, interestings. Wonder if they will be able to save Liberty Prime and if yes how.
And so it begins...
I now wonder if this could factor into his future
Except for when the Wanderer awakens then you'll have another problem that you probably haven't calculated for.
I look forward to seeing what the endgame of the plans these two have are

Yeah, Arthur is a dick
A grim position to take, Rainbow.
I see Loyalty has decided what must be done in the wasteland.
P.S. What was the Family, again?
10426333
Thanks!
10426375
No ending in sight yet, not for a long shot I'm afraid!
10426408
I'd never waste that much character building, would I?
10426664
A delightful little group of vampire-wannabes that live in the metro tunnels. The one's the girls visited when they first left Megaton.
10426670
Oh? They've met before?
Course. How else would they know?
What chapter was that, if you don't mind?
I'm going to become an entirely different kind of monster.
10426681
That little arc is covered in chapters 10 to 14, though I believe the actual meeting occurs on chapter 12.
10426693
Thank you.
HOLY SHIT I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT THEM!
That IS an unusual position for her. I'd make a joke about flying pigs but with all the magic flying around I wouldn't be surprised to spot a flying rad-hog at this point.
Called it.
Chat between Squire Scoots and Squire Maxon was interesing. I wonder if he'll take it to heart? If so it may very well prevent the Brotherhood from evolving into their FO4 version... sadly I doubt it. Something always goes wrong in these matters.
Did Sienna just 'Mom' Horrigan into submission? That's hilarious. And Horrigan knows someones a traitor. The question is which side of the schism he'll end up on in still in the air however. Maybe we'll find out in the next chapter of 'Enclave: Civil War'.

You’re right about that. Everyone might be focused on the Rainbooms and their magic right now, but Adam is still the Lone Wanderer. If anything, Acheson should’ve ordered Horrigan to make sure Adam was dead above all else when attacking the Citadel.
Poor Maddy. Sadly, I imagine stories like hers aren’t uncommon out in the wastes. Given how pissed Rainbow was earlier, she probably came to a similar conclusion.

Assuming you dont factor in video game logic, what strategic value is there in prioritizing the elimination of a man who is, at this moment, in a coma and unable to act against you? The rainbooms are a much greater threat anyways
10427159
That is of course if we assume that Adam is even on Acheson's radar or even knows who the Wanderer really is
10427439
Point taken.
10427345
Being the Lone Wanderer, Adam is arguably the most lethal non-magical, non-mutated human inhabitant of the Capital Wasteland, if not the most lethal character in the entire story in general. He’s already proven himself a very capable fighter and has likely made more kills than all the Rainbooms combined, and perhaps every other character, since the start of the story. When he wakes up and goes back to fighting in Broken Steel, it spells the beginning of the end for the Enclave, and he does most of the grunt work almost single-handedly. If I were an Enclave official and knew about him, I’d make killing him a top priority, coma or no coma.

dont forget that he has been close to the magic of the girls for a while so if anyone is going to get magic soon it would be him. also kind wouldent be the ned of the encalve more likely would be the final push to fully make the enclave into a split into two with the ones with twilight and sunset of this universe and the other side which is the normal encalve.
Edit: what would be adams magic power if he developes one?
10432391
Good point. You speak the true-true, but magic powers aren’t just gained spontaneously, even by those who’ve been affected by the Rainbooms’ magic. I imagine Adam would need a geode for that. If he were to get one, its power might have something to do with radiation or luck.
10432458
since radiation and magic dont play nice im guessing that he would be just incredibly lucky

Personally, I hope this works out as it seems about time for some more positive turns to come about. As far as I'm concerned, the entire point of MLP, or even EquG, is providing positive effects on a darker world, even if they get scarred themselves.
Also, yay for the Family showing up again! Can't wait to see how they help Fluttershy control her nature with some form of meditation and see how much/little they changed post magic boom.

Well MLP crossovers tend to spin in two ways: A) Giving a ray of hope into dark settings or B) Giving a spike of painful reality to the idealistic tone of MLP. Now some authors throw things too far into one side or another but it's usually one way or the other in essence being only a matter of degrees otherwise.
Part of why I probably sound so cynical in my comment about Maxon is because Fallout's default tone is usually something I perceive as being "optimistically cynical". It's actually a fairly hopeful series despite its grim setting. It's a world where one good man can change the lives of countless individuals for the better, yet the reverse also holds true. And yet, canonically, the majority of the games have ended with the 'good endings' being mostly canon. The issue is that after great good men pass by on their grand adventures reality bites in as time passes. Not all men are good, and the world is harsh and full of conflict. In the end, nothing is truly changed.
I'm largely expecting this fic to follow that hopeful, if often sad, tone as the story progresses itself personally. The Rainbooms are good women, and they'll change this scarred and shattered wasteland of D.C. for the better before they go home, scarred themselves by their efforts. The magic of friendship may change the hearts of men, but war never changes.
Sorry if that came out unexpectedly heavy, it's late and I'm feeling philosophical.
In regards to 'The Family', I'm expecting bat-ponies if any of them took a magic hit. I'm expecting Vance to be adapting rather well even amidst all this. He's a good man and I don't expect magic coming into his world to change his view of it overmuch. It's his followers I suspect might be having trouble adapting to magic.
As one of the proofreaders while I already get early access, I do want to share some thoughts with other readers:
I genuinely appreciate Applejack being shook-up over almost getting squashed by Horrigan: This reminded me of The Last Roundup where Applejack feels guilt over failing others; there she felt she failed everypony's expectations over not winning, both in the name of family pride and the earnings she'd promised to the town. Here she's shook-up she came that close to failing everyone by not being able to fend off Horrigan, seeing how she was the only one who inflicted actual damage before Liberty Prime's intervention (and by Pinkie to an extent with the impromptu self-generated Nuka-Grenade). A personal failure where only she'd be affected is not so much, but when Applejack feels she fails others, she feel guilt and fears of not being good enough.
Peters chewing out Maxson is one of the most satisfying bits in this story that I feel I can't even emphasize it enough. As someone who's played Fallout 4 (despite its many faults), I can't stand Maxson: Sure, he wipes out the Super Mutant menace of the Capital Wasteland in the non-interfered timeline and he's a capable war leader, but that's it: He asserts influence over displays of force, predominately via the Prydwen (Fallout 4 spoiler), his iteration of the Brotherhood strongarms and extorts people in the Commonwealth, and likely in the Capital Wasteland, thus making them the same glorified raiders that the West Coast chapters turned into as the NCR's influence overtook that of the Brotherhood's. As he points out with his lineage; he's more an entitled, as Peters calls him, little shit. On top of his prejudiced views on people who just had misfortune befall them like Fawkes and the many, many ghouls out in the wasteland.
You know shit's bad when Pinkie's the calm one
