Following the Hearth's Warming Eve pageant, Twilight goes to Canterlot in order to research the historical events of Hearth's Warming Eve. However what she finds leads her on a journey across the sea and into uncharted northern lands. When she returns, she is visibly shaken and refuses to speak of what she saw to anypony. While over time she starts to recover, there are important questions left unanswered. What did she see on her journey and perhaps more importantly, what followed her back?

I understand. The rest of the story hinges on humanity leaving in the first place so I had to find a way to make that happen. There is a reason why humanity had to leave and it is much more bloody and dark than Celestia made it seem. Admittedly that was kind of the point i was going for when i started writing this. My reasoning was that if you were a younger Celestia and Luna and you were the closest things to gods these ponies had then I'm sure it would go to their heads in some way. I also thought that they would do the logical thing and channel the racial tensions and prejudices of the old tribes outward after the formation of Equestria. As the story progresses I will try to show some redeeming qualities for the pony side, but at the same time the humans will have qualities that won't exactly endear them to everyone. It may or may not balance out eventually. Maybe.

Its not humans from our world. Its humanity if they had always lived on the same world as Equestrians. There won't be helicopters or tanks. That said, there will be advanced technology on the side of humanity. It just won't be that advanced. Think along the lines of 18th century tech into early 19th century tech. Like in Empire total war. And humans from out planet will not enter in as a factor.
Considering the mural of Celestia and Luna I could practically see that reaction coming when they saw Twilight.

It is coming: A shit storm of epic proportion. And that is partly why I wrote this story: humanity seems to be the antagonist more often than not despite the fact that we have on one side, xenophobic magic users led by two god-like beings. by the looks of it. i think that Equestria is pretty screwed. i mean, the Equestrian royal guard is the only military that Equestria have and they can't even defend Equestria from a changeling invasion. and the humans have guns and cannons and armies of thousand. i think, if you take away the resistance that will of course come up after, that Equestria will be defeated within a week.

Umm. I think breech loading. I am not extremely well versed in the finer arts of guns, so I'm using Empire Total War as a reference point for weapons and technological levels. If you know much about these types of rifles actually, I could use your help in describing them during battle in later chapters.
