Nightmare Moon is captured by Princess Twilight Sparkle and Princess Luna after a dangerously close call with Moon Dancer. Freeing herself from Luna's prison, Nightmare Moon infests Luna's sister and brings to life one of the most powerful adversaries, Day Breaker. Teaming up with Queen Chrysalis, the two giants invade Equestria, forcing Twilight and her friends to hole up in Ponyville. Heroes will come in all shapes and sizes; for sometimes it is not the big and mighty that save the day, but the small and insignificant.

I have to admit the idea of a evil/possessed Celestia would be a scary one though one I sort could picture still having some sort of twisted affection towards and acting like a unholy combination of the evil mentor/evil matriarch towards twilight sparkle which admittedly would make her a very different and dangerous sort of threat beyond just her power.
It's Daybreaker. Also, aren't Nightmare Moon and Luna the same person?

My apologies with the mix-up on the name. To be honest with my planning out of this story, I actually started working on it before the episode with Daybreaker aired. And back then, I was referring to her as "Nightmare Celestia". But then of course made the change to "Day Breaker." While I may not be spelling it perfectly correct, I hope that won't detract from the enjoyment of the story (considering how far I've gone into this story already, I'd feel a bit awkward suddenly switching over).
And also yes, Nightmare Moon and Luna are the same pony. I kind of understand where the confusion in that may have come from (based on my reference in Chapter 6).

Well this was a depressing ending but I guess given the way the story went it wasn't going to end in any other way. I did like the story though but I don't think I could read it though again to be honest.

Thank you so much for commenting! I'm very glad you enjoyed the story. Yes, the ending to this certainly isn't on a high note, and despite what has happened to Chrysalis, this could almost count as a victory for her. But at least there was one uplifting scene in this chapter between characters.
