After so many rejections from Rarity, a heartbroken Spike decides he no longer has room in his heart for mares. So instead, he becomes a homosexual, stating only stallions are welcome to tie a knot with his heartstrings.
But, when he confesses this to his best friends, and gets laughed at, he decides to run away, feeling like all ponies see him as a joke. In doing so, he runs away from his home, unintentionally traveling to a familiar cave, with a trio of acquaintances he thought he'd never see again. But, acquaintances can become friends, as long as you allow them to.

I recently came out as bi and I can understand what this is all about; even if I think the story is a little far-fetched. It was a good read; well done! If I have one criticism it is that I think Spike's attitude towards Twilight wouldn't have been like that; perhaps to the others but not Twily!

I don't think the writing is so great and that the turn to a homosexual was far to fast in my opinion. But it was original and while not my cup of tea, it has a decent plot and doesn't deserve nearly the amount of dislikes it got.

It's why despite gay couples not being able to conceive normally (given they don't have the right mixture of genitals, like two guys together), homosexuality keeps showing up. It never had been a conscious decision on the part of the person. It's how you're born. Hence why I said Spike choosing to be gay isn't how it works.
So yes, I do think Homosexuality is a choice. Do I have a problem with it? No. But I will say it's not my cup of tea.

This story is so great, and SO true. For this story Spike was BORN gay but Rarity was nothing but a petty crush a phase basically, and Rainbow Dash was pretty much in the wrong. The reason it took her six months was because she wasn’t that accepting of the fact that she was. Hell! It only took me one minute to figure out I liked both Girls and Boys! Spike was more accepting of the fact that he liked boys than she was of the fact that she liked girls. Anyway great story! It really hit me right there in a spot. I would kill to see a sequel of this!

I have nothing against homosexuals but its still saddening that he crushed the siblinghood they had over being laughed at once, even though she was begging for forgiveness.
She said she was sorry, she tried to make up with him and he still hatefully threw her out and was happy she was gone.
How could he become so bitter and cruel over being laughed at.
Again, I have nothing against gay men or women, but I think he could have at least appreciated that she risked her neck to try and make up with him. That's all.

It still doesn't sit right, it would have been just as effective if he told her that he likes Garble and wants to stay with him for the foreseeable future instead of "Get out of here you mean nothing to me anymore!"
That just wasn't fair to her after all she's done for him. He even treated her hatching him like it was a bad thing.

Spike stared at the egg in his hands for a few seconds. Flashbacks of the first time he tried to do it struck him, which made him hesitant, but the thought of being with dragons who were loyal to him was much stronger than that. Taking a deep breath, he finally threw the egg onto the ground, which burst right on contact. Yolk, eggshells, blood, and even a tiny phoenix embryo spilled out everywhere in front of the three dragons.
After hatching and raising Peewee? He took an innocent unborn phoenix's life? Just to impress his new friends, and he cheered afterward? How could he??... Why is murdering a phoenix even a right of passage here it's just sick? 
Why... why would he willingly do that?
