Hrmm.... I'm liking it so far. It seems like a fun idea, but it could do with a touch of polish.
If you wanted to, you could visit the training grounds over on ponychan's /fic/, and pick up a more detailed opinion. The worst that could happen is a few more views, and some analysis here and there.
G4 eventually leading back into G1 is an interesting idea. Also makes you wonder how time would really work in the MLP universe. Would it cycle thru the Generations in an endless loop or are the Generations simply out of the order we think they should be in?
Reminds me of a line from the Wheel of Time: The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.
Well that was an interesting chapter. The whole Baby Quackers incident was funny but how that happened to link to her cutie mark I'll never understand.
Sparkler claims decent from one of the harmony bearers, yet not sure which one and then acts like the way she does. If the claim is true then there is an element of harmony that's rolling in her grave due to her descendant being so such a bad pony. Judging from the gem comment it would more than likely be Rarity. Since Rarity was the Element of Generosity and Sparkler seems to be about as far from generous as possible I doubt Rarity would like the connection.

As both a G1 and G4 fan, I'm loving this story.
The sea ponies "hip and groovy" way of talking is hilarious. Well, it certainly makes sense that their culture would be a little "off" from mainstream land-pony ways!

Trixie just can't seem to catch a break no matter what time period she's supposed to be in. I also have a feeling she's going to blame Twilight and the Ursa Incident for her turning to this magic to keep herself alive.
It's still a good story and I have to admit I didn't even think about Trixie until they started reading the descriptions of the attacker/imposter.

A plan by dissenters to overthrow the queen's rule is rather interesting, as well as how mysterious Masquerade and her spying is. I can't wait to see a sequel of how North Star, Wind Whistler, and Masquerade will try to blend in while waiting for the perfect time to thwart the rebellion.
Sorry for not commenting as soon as I said I was going to. I tend to procrastinate, so I'm not as reliable as I would like to be. I'll read some of your other stories whenever I'm ready.

How interesting how pony physiology now allows them to inherit cutie marks without proper personal discovery. Sad too. However, the nature of cutie marks is a fascinating subjects. In my fic, Ancient Equestria, while it goes further into detail in later chapters yet to be written, it's touched on that originally the cutie marks were called Destiny Marks and chosen for young zebras by the act of divination by the chief. However, rather than what their true talent was, they were marked by whatever the divination saddled them with, causing a lot of unhappy zebras...on top of that, they weren't even stamps, they were manually carved into the flanks and scarred there.
I can see how Luna would disapprove of the inheritance and how basically the offspring are basically clones of their mothers.

This is a good story with an interesting premise which is explored enough to make a story but left enough to the imagination to keep things interesting.
Although I almost passed it by due to the capitalization errors in the story and chapter titles, I'm glad that I actually did read it.
