But when a certain posh old dragon who has served her family for generations starts telling the princess stories of her royal ancestor, will the little filly may gain a new appreciation for her place in the world.

Pink Sparkle surely is an ecstatic (almost hyperactive) filly. However, I was a little confused by her reaction to Spike. Didn’t she know that he is that old? Wasn’t he mentioned in the book about Twilight she was reading? Also, how come he is over thousand years old, but this chapter takes place only four hundred years after the events of the show? Do you count even the age he spent as an egg?
Yeah, I’m simply curious

Spike looks waaay different than he did back then, he's even a different color now (blue). She's a little kid and doesn't realize it's the same Spike.

Pink Sparkle is Twilight Sparkle's descendant.
And that disaster was just a normal everyday occurrence in Ponyville.
At least Spike isn't as stuffy and annoying as his G3 counterpart.

Considering this is part of my shared generation (g1/g2/g3) fanfic universe, thoses two spikes are actually the same character; the posh thing was just an act.
