Yeah the gag is her drop jawing any pony she can with what she had to deal with.
6945402 and her asking "What" After mentioning or doing something that is normal to her. makes me laugh every time that happens.
6945428 sort of like Sister from RVB
6945448 kinda. but the funny part is I never planned that. it just sorta happened on it's own.
and I have no intension of stopping it.
6945451 I know that feeling. A character devolps a trait you didn't plan on but it works so well you just go with it.
Nice chapter! Something tells me Sparkle isn't done gobsmacking ponies.
6945452 yeah and I don't think her saying/doing something normal for her then asking "What?" to everyone around her will ever get old.
6945476 can't stop, won't stop.
Cadence will be a crying wreck when she sees what happened to Cmdr Twilly's cutie mark... And Shining Armor would likely become thirsty for revenge for what they did to her.
Dang, talk about making a point!
6945809 True, though she wasn't wearing he armor during her fight with Winter Gale everyone was more focused on the fight itself rather then actually looking at her fully.
6946178 She is practical.
But how will they make the guns? Dragon fire and molds? And what about everything else? (Armor that will work, mass-producing ammo, ect.)
6947769 MAGIC
they are a society based around magic, very powerful magic, the only reason I think guns and such don't exist is why would you need anything more then a sword when Magic exists.
but in this word they will be facing a technologically superior race that can surpass them with sheer might of rang and speed.
And like was mention in a chapter twilight had tech manuals and such with her and an in-depth knowledge of how guns and explosives work as well as everything earth has. she knows how to make it given the resources and can teach others how to do it as well.
6947867 So they enchant wood into coke and that kind of shit? Hmmmm......good, but still don't answer mass production.
6947903 when you know how to build a machine it's not very hard to build it. and twilight knows how to build. She ahd the full supports of the Princesses, it won't be hard for her to have factories built to meet her needs after teaching people how to building what she needs. MAss production will be a simple task when Twilight is done shaping her Military.
6947946 She still needs to hire some Germar (or whatever it is in equestria) engineers, assuming they're like our German's.
sooooooooo twilight now has the xcom project AWSOME!!!!
6951224 dont know about germans but they have russians (stalliongrad)
We have Barrett rifles now that can shoot up to a mile away. Surely the Federation would have developed a weapon that can shoot further.
Please dont take this the wrong way but at this point ive stoped reading the main story in favour of the interludes
Well, this is going to be interesting... A psycho commander having a free reign of an entire military branch.

"Germane(y?)".
7160380 Actually, rifles that can accurately hit their targets at nearly a mile away (about 0.9) have been around for decades. It's called a .308, and until the .50 came about, it was one of the best rifles for sniping. (In fact, the Barret .50 you mention still doesn't hold the record. That honor is held by a british sniper using a .338 Lapua Magnum at just under 2,500 meters. About a mile and a half.) At this point, the range of a sniper isn't determined by the rifle. Theoretically, the rifles we have now can hit a target accurately at several miles away. The problem lies in that even our best snipers can't hold the gun steady enough to make such a shot.
The sheer nonchalance Twilight displayed, though.
7441660 its not so much holding the rifle steady as it is all the factors that go into a shot
lets count shall we
1 quality of the rifle
1.5 quality of the scope
2 ammo used and the amount of gunpowder used
3 distance
4 wind sheer and the fact that the wind could change mid flight
5 Coriolis force or the curvature of the earth which at a 1 mile out has to be accounted for
6 the zeroing of the rifle
7.the shooters ability to keep the god dam rifle steady
8. your targets movement (at 1.5 miles it takes a .338 lapua round 4.4 seconds to reach the target. That is plenty of time for your target to move)
9 humidity
10 air temperature
those are 10 things you have to calculate and account for befor you take a shot and even then you are likely to miss record holer fired 4-5 shots before he scored a hit in Afgan against mortar team at 1.5.miles

You are both correct in just about every way!
The story is so good, but your spelling is SO BAD. I can't count how many times I've read defiantly (synonymous with rebelliously) when you meant definitely, or do when you meant due (caused by). You've got the writing part down pretty well, minus some run-on sentences, punctuation errors, and phrasing. God damn it though if you don't need a miracle working proofreader.

Everyone who agrees to do it sadly disappeared shortly after wards.
Aw she didn't show them her 2 sentries from chapter 1.
