An archaeological expedition in the Badlands uncovers an ancient structure unlike anything seen before. After they gain access to the structure, they find it remarkably well preserved, and make an unexpected discovery, which sets into motion events long since predestined to pass.
Following the discovery, Princess Twilight Sparkle sets off to investigate, invited down to the dig site by Daring Do. As she sets hoof inside the structure, it begins to awaken, but even as the structure returns to life, the mystery only deepens.

You know I haven't read any daring do stories before and I'm not entirely sure why.
But this story has piped my interest and if it's good (which I'm sure it will be) I may start reading other daring do stories.

That is a good question. In chapter 1, I envisioned Ancient Knowledge with an Australian accent. That has since changed, and now I have no idea.
Good thing they didn't decide to use plan E a minute earlier because plan E activating just as the door opened would lead to some big problems.

Yes, well, I'm trying to keep up with this story... At the very least so that I can finish it and not have this story to stress me out by being incomplete...
Although I do like the story/plot I have planned for this story and I'm excited to work on it, it's just slightly tedious... And, you know, I'm working on other stuff too. But I am trying to work on this also and would like to get back to a more regular update schedule!

As I have said in blog posts and in other comments, it's not dead. I currently have other priorities, and my current plans are essentially a "fall through" system, where I have prioritized in the following order to be completed: The Night's Stars, Glimpses of Regret, The End War, and finally Civil War of Harmony. Other one-shots and such short fics are not currently excluded.
It will just take time before I can get back to these other fics. Life is hectic right now.
However, I suppose an oversight on my part is failing to tag said stories as on Hiatus. I will update this.

I'm calling it now. It's a prison. They opened a prison cell. And that statue is a prisoner. And the prison is from the future. Future Twilight is the Warden. The unreadable language is one that hasn't been invented yet. The door with the melted crystal is the equivalent of locking the door, and throwing away the key.
Now to keep reading, and see if I am right.
