After the changelings took over Equestria and enslaved the ponies, the dragons decided they wanted a piece of the prize. The changelings and dragons came to an agreement. They would give the ponies they didn't need to the dragons, and the dragons in turn would help keep their prisoners from escaping.
Every year the changelings go through their prisoners and find the ones with no families, the ones who don't generate as much love as the others, and give them to the dragons. Sweetie Belle has managed to remain hidden... until now.
Now she waits in a cell to be the next sacrifice to the dragon who guards the town. A dragon who looks very, very, hungry...

I'mma have to disagree with this story. For starters, changeligns are not very strong creatures to begin with, reliant on trickery to rule.
And no, a dragon would not be overwhelmed by changeling magic.
6183548 Uh yes, changelings are very strong magically if they get enough love in them. Example: Queen Chrysalis was able to beat Princess Celestia herself. We're talking about overwhelming numbers here. Even tiny fragile bees can overwhelm and kill an adult if there are enough of them.
Also who says adult dragons are resistant to magic? We haven't seen evidence for or against that during the show.

6435042 Yes which is why the story is labeled a tragedy. Basically she's in Heaven where she's being made to think that everything is all right so that she'll be happy.
