This is very well written Dash :D Great job on your first story!
This is a really nice story. I especially like the interaction of Pinkie and Dash. It flows well and it feels in character. Those two have a really well done bond and you show it off well.
First off, 5508261 = tl;dr
But seriously, it's short, it's sweet, it doesn't overstay its welcome and it really encapsulates the extent of Pinkie's imagination.

Luckily for creative Pinkie Pie, she later learns how to make her own flying machine. Not to mention the times she uses balloons to fly. Not exactly the same, but still, she's one of the only earth ponies to learn how to truly fly, so eventually she gets her wish, i guess.
That said, This does sound like Pinkie Pie. Cute and funny. Of course Pinkie would imagine that some of the clouds are made of cotton candy. She may be stuck on the ground, but her imagination sure isn't!
