Not bad. I think you could have stretched it out to around twice this size, but for what it is I approve. I find it interesting that you conjured up a 'pit' beneath Cloudsdale. I might have to think on that concept for a bit.

I personally imagined Them falling through the clouds, and the bodies' fluids soaking the earth. After enough fall, the Pit begins to deepen, and the decay vortex grows. They circle and consume, and grow in number, and consume and decay...
It's a pretty morbid image in my mind at least.

It feels a little fantastical to my mind. Morbid, yes, but somewhat over the top. And what exactly do they 'circle and consume' when there's nothing to consume? Still, it was effective for the story.
The interesting thing for me was that even though they tossed her overboard as bait, the chariot crashed or was destroyed. There literally was no way out for anyone. At least if I am reading it correctly.

I still can't get my mind off of how disturbing a huge pile of dead and zombified ponies are... under Clouds-Dale. I was very overwhelmed with that idea in Hunt Them- I still am.
