The chapter ended with Rainbow Dash swallowing Octavia alive and enjoying it just for the sheer sake of it and out of legitimate hunger for her growing body, Octavia even kicking still -for now until the acid sets in- alive in the stomach.

I must dislike, because in spite of tag-warnings, I fail to see how 'vore' is appealing, and quite frankly find it horrifying how swiftly Rainbow Dash changes into an indiscriminate monster.

As far as your personal preferences go, to each their own. Now, Downvoting a story because it has a subject matter you don't like, despite the fact that the subject matter was clearly warned ahead of time and you read it anyway, is kind of a dick move. Would much rather the characters live, or at least not go into horrific detail about what lead up to there deaths, or there journey through the esophagus And if this happens and this is only the first chapter. I going to read this anyway since I've been waiting for a more macro fics to crop up on this site because it's my favorite fetish. However, if Dash is going to become a sadist, it should have some character progression, or at least happen when she's gets to the size of Godzilla.
That's why when I wrote my own macro story, I specifically said "There Will Be No Vore"

No, it's for real. Granted, I'd much rather there be no death, but if that's the goal, then at least slow down and show Dash struggle with it, and beyond a few random lines like, "but it just felt so good!" Have her cry over what she's done, fight against this growing hunger. That struggle is what makes it real.

edit: Just read the authors notes. Let me just say that fetish clop can have character in character and still be erotic. It's one of the reason's why Big (Macro)tosh has done so well. Even people who aren't into the kink enjoy it. With that, I'm going to know read this story for my own perverted pleasure and get back to with proper feedback.

Normally I like vore, but Rainbow has kinda...well...her personality really doesn't match up with what's going on here, and her character development doesn't make a lot of sense. It kind of works against the story. Especially because as Element of Loyalty, she shouldn't be acting this way towards her own kind.

I like it. The only thing I'm iffy about is the 'vore'. I do have a way around it that would still allow Dash to swallow ponies whole though and have them unharmed.If you want to use it.
She is a avian creature of sorts. Maybe those swallowed could be 'reborn' through some egg laying later (due to other side effects of the potion) as gryphons that might serve their new 'queen'. That way there's no death, still vore for those who like it, and perhaps some additional stomach swelling for those (like me) who enjoy that rounded look.
