This could really use some grammar and punctuation fixes, the language becomes awkward otherwise and breaks immersion.

Examples:

A half hour past ---> A half hour passed
But I thought you liked Mare Cart. ---> But I thought you liked Mare Cart...
Button sweetie? ---> Button, sweetie? (even better to use another word entirely so it's not confused with Sweetie)
I ..umm...well... ---> I, um... well...
Button Darling... ---> Button, darling...

Seems minor, but it can be a boner killer. Story was still fun though, and the vocabulary was good. Just grab someone to proofread next time.
