Hmmm.....since I'm betting the next chapter won't begin with a kinky sex scene on the throne, I'm guessing that this is the beginning of where things really get rolling for our out of place hero.
Also, I've come to the conclusion that, while this story is good, it would be better--much like everything else in life--with the inclusion of 100% more Luna. Celestia's hogging the limelight.

While I support the idea of a Human/Celestia/Luna threesome on the royal throne, sadly it is not to be. You'll just have to be satisfied with Sunbutt.

Doing it on the royal throne sounds rather uncomfortable. On the other hand, it makes up for it with style.
Definitely something to consider if one finds oneself bored and trapped in a time loop.

'Tis a shame....that would have made one hell of a story for the next time his dad or his brother asked about how he fared with the mares. But I suppose can get behind kinky sex with just Tia (giggity). I'll just hold onto that mental image to tide me over until the next chapter releases.

Well, the obvious way to make up for lacking Luna is that when the deer and ponies finally make up to have a Celly/human/deer queen three way on the throne to seal the cessation of hostilities.

That would seem to take "make love, not war" to its logical conclusion.
And so, they FINALLY met!
Threesome or bust
Dammit you cut out right as it was getting amaaaayyyzing! A thousand curses upon you I want more!
Ah, so it is Nightmare Moon, then.
I'm fine with just Sunbutt, though.
more noooowplease

Funny, that's the bumper sticker on my Star Destroyer.
3976558 Dude. This is a freaking ROMAN STYLE GUARD. Commissar came from Russian style. I know you're thinking about Warhammer and such, but the two things function differently. Although, thinking about it, that would be pretty awesome.......
Maybe the modern day Equestria has commissars? Who knows?

Sadly this isn't WH40k, much as I may wish it was sometimes. I should end the story by having the Angry Marines show up and declare everything HERESY. That would be amazing!
Hmmm I'm curious how is Celestia know his name?
3980983 I'm with you on the crossover thing.
3980983
I think you can make just about anything good if you write it properly, but yeah, 40k and colorful ponies is a little hard to crossover properly. I've read the beginnings of a few 40k crossover fics and none of them seemed particularly good at it. There's lots of good ideas out there for the different races -- Eldeer, Hogz, etc., but I've yet to see anyone pull it off. 40k might be too grimdark to properly convey with pones.

To be fair, if you dumped the mane 6 and made your own characters you could pull of a 40k story. You could have Celestia as the God-Empress of Ponykind, and Luna could be Horus. Then you just split the other factions into races and you're good to go.
I can see a 40k fic working, and I have sometimes been tempted to try it, but honestly it's a saturated market and I don't have a huge grasp on Horus-era stuff, so I'd just end up doing the lore a disservice.

I'm chuckling a bit to myself right now, because I'm actually gearing up to run a Rogue Trader RPG campaign using a ponified 40k setting right now. It's actually a bit funny just how well the backstories of the two settings crossover with each other, and even if the setting I'm piecing together is still fairly dark compared to the cartoon, it's worlds better then canon 40k. At any rate, its looking like its going to be a hell of a fun game for me to run.

I can lol.
You would think that if there was a sentient species living in equestria she would've met it sooner
The only thing that bothers me in FF, is how ponies are near the Princess, like he was.
Was she still considered a Goddess in this point in time?
Hmm, Nightmare Moon worshippers, I love how they think they get that stuff when they are done serving her.
Huh, this answered a few questions. I'm intrigued. Love the feeling of the brothers. I seriously fear for Victus's safety going to what is effectively the front lines with little support. Now I have no choice to read the next chapter so I can see the interaction between Tercio and Celestia, darn these cliffhangers.
This is gonna be good!
So, I must confess that your armor porn confuses me.
How or why would ponies make armor for a human, given that until recently Earth ponies didn't like serving with unicorns or pegasi? I would assume custom armor is expensive, in time and/or materials, so why was he ever accepted?

The crown no doubt provides the armor.
Given his need for armor designed for a human and not a pony, gryphon, or any other creature (even a minotaur's armor wouldn't fit him right), it's logical to assume the crown had to custom order it.
Seeing as how it was already a custom order, all someone has to do is pay whatever extra cost is needed, and he (or his friends as a gift to him) could add a few extra details to the order before it's ever made.
(Hell, they may even have known the guy in the guard's position who was responsible for sending out the order, in which case all they would have to do is convince him to add a few extra things like gold trim to the order when it was requested from whoever they have make their armor.)
I must confess, the idea that a brand new sentient species just appeared in Equestria and never met the Princess is odd enough but once you factor in that he joined the military (and later the Royal Guard) it's actively weird
Thus they finally meet...

On the other hand, they live in a world where sentient creatures come in all shapes and sizes. Seeing an unknown would probably not be as world changing as it would in our world, where we are the only such species.
If anything it might be a cause for interest and curiosity, intrigue at most, but really he's nothing special compared to the rest of the creatures in their world.
Dragons, hydras, griphons, unicorns, minotaurs.
In contrast a human really isn't that interesting.
He's also just one individual, it's not an entire species, just an outlier, a single person who might as well have been a fluke of nature. News travel slow in this equestria, so she might not even know very much of him, other than his strange appearance.
Just started reading this and still kinda don't get the point.
I'd understand if this human came from our world already being an adult and had some unique insight (e.g., ex-soldier, ex-marine, or had some knowledge of human technology, etc.) that could help with the war. Be he seems to have grown up entirely in Equestria, and sans his different appearance, he's virtually a pony in human form (like Spike is a pony in dragon form). He doesn't bring any new insight, or a new perspective (since he has none: he was raised by ponies and has lived here his entire life).
Need to read more to see where this goes.

This, exactly this. I fail to see the point either. If he were to offer insight, or some technology, something... but considering how long he's been here, he would've done that much already, you'd think - and he wouldn't be in the rank & file of the guard, with that sort of a position.
No, it more looks like he was found when he was but a child - in the previous chapters it's indicated that he was found at a young age, as his adoptive mother claims he was no older than the colt she had. Seeing as they're considered old enough to marry at fifteen, I'd wager it happened some time before then. If I were a betting man, I'd put my chips down on him being seven, maybe eight years old at the time - old enough to know what he was, but not nearly old enough to even begin to understand the legacy of his race.
At first I suspected he was the one to give them the idea of Roman legions - but again, I think it's becoming clear that it's not so. The only question at this point would be whether he's been whisked away from Earth in contemporary times (and so might end up remembering something useful along the way), or if he was indeed transported at the height of the Roman Empire? The latter wouldn't suprise me, as it would make in-lore sense for both worlds to share enough of a connection (the inspiration could've come from either direction!) to allow a child through...
