I've seen 128 bit processors @ 4.0 ghz. So, not the best. It was probably a Dell processor, AMD processors are better and cheaper, but 99% of people use Dells (unless you're a gamer, the custom machines are always AMD.), because Dell is a larger company, and you don't need the power of an AMD if you don't game.

I actually toyed with my boot screen to have Twilight teleport in instead of the windows logo. I try not to be biased about OS, but Apple makes it so hard. At any rate, brand names in general are silly. Mix and match your pieces. Alienware's pretty good, but half its cost is for the name 'alienware' to be tacked on.

I don't think I'm going to bother with 8. In my experience, only every other windows os is enjoyable. I'm sure if you look around, you can find directions for windows 8
3661121 Didn't know as I use 7 still. Stick with what I know as I've learned enough about the OS to get around most of the major issues. I even went so far as to get it upped to 64 bit Ultimate for nothing. MS doesn't know the difference.
