Ride 18: White-Hot Tournament!

“Congratulations team Crusaders on making it pass the first round.” said Rarity

“Thanks Rarity.” said Apple Bloom and Scootaloo.

“I sure hope this gets better. The first round was weak.” said Spike

“At least you weren't watching from the side lines wale your friends got to battle. Thats it next match I’m going first and you can watch me kick some flank.” said Scootaloo

“Scootaloo you did your team won.” said Rumble tackling scootaloo

“Get off, Rumble your annoying me.” said Scootaloo

“But I’m so happy.”

“Well I’m not. I didn’t get to cardfight. And you're getting to close.”

“But you're cute. And I’ll be here when your team gets knocked out.”

“What do you mean by that?”

“Even if you do make it to the finals. You wont have any chance against my big brother.”

“Thunderlane.” said Scootaloo looking at a hologram of team Handsome.

“Next up the final match of the first round. Team on my left is team Nadeshiko. And the team on my right is team Handsome. All right the first two fighters are. From team Nadeshiko it’s Hiromi. She will face the captain of team Handsome Thunderlane.” announced Pinkie Pie

“Why is Thunderlane going first. I mean shouldn’t they save their best fighter for last?” asked Apple Bloom

“By the looks of it I would say he is trying to win the first match quickly and get his team pumped up. But generally speaking though you got the right idea Apple Bloom. By having your strongest fighter go last it takes a lot of pressure off the other ponies on the team. Determining the order when your teammates fight can acutely have a big effect on the outcome of the matchup. Team battles are part of the reason tournaments are so exciting.” said Rarity

“Doesn't matter when I battle because I ain't losing to anypony.” said Scootaloo

“I love you sweetie.” said Rumble hugging Scootaloo

“The winner Thunderlane.” said the judge

“That was so quick.” said Apple Bloom

“See that my big brother is unstoppable.” said Rumble

“It seems he has gotten even better then when I played him.” said Apple Bloom

“That's the good thing about a game like vanguard. There is always something more you can improve.” said Rarity

‘And here I thought I would be strong enough to beat him. It looks like I have a long way to go.’ thought Apple Bloom

“There it is team Handsome wins the second round. As expected from are last years winners.” announced Pinkie Pie

“The only way we're going to play them if make it to the final round.” said Apple Bloom

“That's just fine. As long as we get to beat them at their own game. said Scootaloo

“Oh Scootaloo your so cute.” said Rumble

“Now lets move on to the second round. Now lets see are next matchup. Team Martial Arts vs. Team Crusaders.” said Pinkie Pie

“You think they could win?” asked Blossomforth

“Yeah” said Thunderlane

“I’m excited.” said Pipsqueak

‘Scootaloo.’ thought Thunderlane

“This teams had strong showings in their first fights.” said Pinkie Pie

“I’m playing first, Spike is second, you’ll play the third game if it goes that far ok.” said Scootaloo

“Sure best of luck.” said Apple Bloom

“Good luck Scootaloo.” said Rumble from the stands

“When he learn that I’m not in love with him. But I can't worry about that I have to stay focused on the match.” said Scootaloo

“Stand Up Vanguard.”

“I’m going to enjoy taking you out.” said Scootaloo turning into Battleraizer

“I don’t think I’m going to lose.” said the stallion turning into Madame Mirage

The fight went on for a while.

“I ride Bloody Hercules, then call Lady Bomb to rear guard.” A mare that is half pony and half ladybug appeared. “I activate Lady Bomb’s counterblast. Now your Queen of Heart can’t stand next turn. With a boost from Bahr, Bloody Hercules attacks Tough Boy. Drive trigger check.” (No Trigger) He ran up and hit her.

“I check for a damage trigger. And I got one, stand trigger activated. I’ll have the Queen of Heart stands up. To bad try to keep us down but Nova Grapplers always rise up. That skill is useless against me.”

“You tell him sweetie.” said Rumble

Scootaloo just face hoof out of embarrassment.

The match continued even more.

‘Were tied for five damage. He has two cards in hoof. I’ll win it here and now.’ thought Scootaloo “Three times the dragon mean three times the force. Get ready it’s Brutal Jack.”

“Scootaloo is using three copies of Brutal Jack.”said Apple Bloom

“Brute force ha.” said Spike

“I counterblast three times to releases my Brutal Jacks. Now all three of them can attack. Brutal Jack is supported by the Queen of heart and attack your Hell Spider.”

17000 to 10000

“I guard with Lizard Soldier Ganlu.”

17000 to 20000

“Now my vanguard Brutal Jack attack with support from the Queen of Heart. Since Brutal Jack is in the vanguard cycle he gain 5000 power when he is boosted by Nova Grappler unit.”

22000 to 10000

“I guard with Phantom Black. As well I intercept with Lady Bomb and Bloody Hercules.”

22000 to 25000

“Drive trigger check.” (No Trigger) She opened her mouth and fired a laser destroying the three units. “Next I attack with Brutal Jack supported by lucky girl.”

16000 to 10000

“Checking the damage trigger” (no trigger)

“Third time's the charm.” Brutal Jack shot him with his laser.

“The winner Scootaloo.” said the Judge

“Scootaloo that was great.” said Apple Bloom

“Thanks Apple Bloom were almost there.” said Scootaloo

“Now it’s time for the second fight of this matchup.” said Pinkie Pie

Spike walked up in to possession. Then the fight began.

“The winner of the match is Spike from Team Crusaders.” said the Judge

“Oh come on! Spike has gotta have a tough match. He beat him with no problem.” said Scootaloo

‘It looks like we move on to the next round. Spike and Scootaloo really are the best. Even if I don’t get the chance to play agian it so exciting to see are team win.’ thought Apple Bloom

“Team Crusader beat Team Martial Arts two fights in a row. This team has come out of nowhere and is charging to the finals. Now the team standing in there way is Team Chemistry.” said Pinkie Pie

The first fighter was shock on how fast he lost to Scootaloo.

The second fighter was scared on how scary he was scary Spike was.

“And just like that the match is over the winner is Team Crusaders.” said Pinkie Pie

“All right.” said Rainbow Dash

“Way to go.” said Silver Spoon

“There heading to the finals.” said Diamond Tiara
“Scootaloo you are the best.” said Snips
“The best.” said Snails

Rumble just stared at Scootaloo.

“Both of you were great. I can’t believe we are heading to the finals of the tournament.” said Apple Bloom

“Of course and its all thanks to me isn’t that right Spike.” said Scootaloo

Spike didn’t say a word.

Apple Bloom chuckled a little bit.

‘For better or worse they are playing to the best of their ability.’ thought Rarity

“Are second match is coming to a close. Team Hot Noodles is cornered. Team Handsome is heading towards victory thats to their leader Thunderlane.” said Pinkie Pie

“Team Handsome is the winner.” said the Judge

“There you have it folks another big victory. Just what we expected from last years champions. Now we have are final two teams. Team Crusaders and Team Handsome. Only one of this teams can be the champion.” said Pinkie Pie

‘This is what I’ve been waiting for’ thought Scootaloo

“Good luck sweetie.” said Rumble coming from behind her and hugging Scootaloo.

“YOU'RE RUINING MY BIG MOMENT.” shouted Scootaloo

“I even love your anger shouting.” said Rumble

“The finals of the Ponyville Regional Tournament will begin this afternoon enjoy the break. I repeat. The finals of the Ponyville Regional Tournament will begin this afternoon after a break. The finalist team members are to gather ten minutes before we start.” said Pinkie Pie

“Scootaloo where are you.” said Rumble looking for Scootaloo. “Why are you hiding?”

At someplace else Scootaloo was with Thunderlane.

“It looks like I’ll get the chance to crush Team Handsome after all. Brace yourself Thunderlane.” said Scootaloo

“Heh, Scootaloo I really wanted to fight alongside you on the same time.” said Thunderlane

“I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you but I’m going to learn to fight my own battles. Pulse I want to battle with my friends. You might of thought me how to play. But I would rather play with my friend. And I want to fight you in the tournament to make you pay for everything you did to me.”

“I think you mean paying me back. And I understand you’re friend are really special too you. I can see why you want to be on a team with them. So first battle you and me.”

Scootaloo nodded her head in agreement.

“If you're my enemy I won’t go easy on you.”

“Good I want to beat you at your best.”

When Scootaloo joined back with her friends for lunch.

“What do you mean you forgot the lunch.” said Scootaloo

“I’m sorry I guess in the rush. I accidently forgot to bring it.” said Rarity

“Your lucky I didn’t.” said Applejack

“Applejack did you see my cardfight?” asked Apple Bloom

“I sure did Apple Bloom and you did great. I seen you that youre heading to the finals. I thought that Rarity might forget lunch so I brought extra just in case. No offence Rarity.”

“None taken I’m just glad that you thought ahead.” said Rarity

They were about to eat their lunch when.

“Their you are Scootaloo I found you. I thought you would hungry. So I made you lunch.” said Rumble running towards and tackling her.

“I told you before leave me alone.” said Scootaloo running away with Rumble chasing here.

During the chase Rumble tripped and the two lunch boxes went flying off.

In the distance Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon where walking up to congratulate the team on making it to the finals. When the two lunch boxes hit them in the face. They at some of the food. Then their mouths felt like they were on fire.

“My mouth it burns.” they both said

“What did you put in there?” asked Scootaloo

“just some rice and all the spicy stuff I could find in my kitchen.” said Rumble

“You do remember I don’t like spicy food right.” said Scootaloo

“Ooops I guess I forgot.” he said hugging her

“Hey let me go.”

“Never.”

“Let me guess Rumble is in love with Scootaloo. But she doesn't love him back. And he won’t get the message right.” said Applejack

“You hit the nail right on it sis.” said Apple Bloom

They ate the lunch Applejack brught.

“The final fight of the Ponyville Regional Tournament will begin shortly. Will all of our finalist make there way to the designated area.” said Pinkie Pie

“This is it.” said Apple Bloom

Then Sweetie Belle enter.

“Sweetie Belle you finally made it.” said Apple Bloom

“I’m glad you could make it.” said Rarity

“Sweetie Belle why weren’t you here at the beginning? Rarity said you were going to meet us here. So I had to play with an untested deck. And when you didn’t show I had a rough time. Because I thought I would be sitting this one out.” said Apple Bloom

“I’m sorry how did it go?” asked Sweetie Belle

“I won some how. But Spike and Scootaloo have been carrying us the rest of the way and there is only on round to go.”

“Wow”

“So are you going to take over for me?”

“I think you better stay in there Apple Bloom. I mean you made it this far.”

Rarity nodded her head in agreement.

“Ok if you say so, I’ll fight.”

“I hate to disapont you Apple Bloom. But I don’t think its going to come to that. Me and Spike are going to end this with two quick victories in a row.” said Scootaloo

“Sure, if the team wins that’s good enough for me.” said Apple Bloom

“Well shall we go everyone.” said Rarity

“Yes.” replied Apple Bloom

“Yeah.” replied Scootaloo

“It’s finally time for the main event folks the championship match. But first the princess have a special performance for us.”

During the song Apple Bloom her first trip to PSY.

“Thanks eveypony.”said the three princess the cations closed.

Three princess went back stage.

“Cadence you were a little off key.” said Celestia

“I was not.” said Cadence

Luna looked into the crowed and saw Apple Bloom.

“It looks like Apple Bloom and her friends made it to the finals.” said Luna

“Yeah I guess so.” said Cadence

“I guess she is making good use of that card I gave her.” said Celestia

“No doubt.” said Luna

“These are the two teams to make it to the Ponyville Regional Tournament finals. Making their debut Team Crusaders. It consists of Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom, and Spike. They have always been good friends. And I think the team name is supposed to be a reminder of their adventures as the cutie mark crusaders. Their opponents a team that needs no introduction. But gets one anyway the group that won last years Regionals and made an impressive run at the National. It’s Thunderlane and team Handsome.” announced Pinkie Pie

‘What is Rumble doing there?’ thought Scootaloo seeing Rumble sitting next to his Brother.

“Alright the undefeated streaks of this two teams is about to came to a close. Witch one will emerge as today's big winner. Let’s play some vanguard.” announced Pinkie Pie

“Will the first round player’s step forward please.” said the Judge

“Well it all comes down to this.” said Scootaloo getting up and walking forward.

“Good luck.” said Apple Bloom

‘Finally my chance to bet him.’ thought Scootaloo remembering what Thunderlane said to her. ‘Thunderlane there’s gonna be no holding back.’

On the other side Rumble got up. “I’ll be your opponent.” said Rumble

“Rumble.” said Scootaloo confuse tone. “No kidding.” this time in a kind of shocked and scared tone.

“No and if I win we’re getting married.”

Scootaloo screamed with fear.
