Ride 34: It's Summer! It's Camp! It's Vanguard!

Rarity and Sweetie Belle were at the train station

“Ok, do we got everything we need packed?” asked Rarity

“Yes, we got everything. All you didn’t back was the store.” said Sweetie Belle looking at all the bags.

“I just want to make sure I didn’t forget anything.”

Then Scootaloo came up.

“Hey, I’m here.” said Scootaloo carrying a bag.

“Good Scootaloo you're here early.” said Rarity

“Yeah, I was so excited. I could hardly sleep last night. This is going to help us to beat that jerk Flip Side.”

“I’m glad you're excited for the trip. But the purposes of this trip is to improve our skills. Not to beat one specific fighter.”

“I’ll make you pay Flip Side for trash talking all the players at nationals.”
Then Apple Bloom and Applejack came up.

“Hi” said Apple Bloom carrying a bag.

“Hay.” said Applejack also carrying a bag.

“Applejack, Apple Bloom. You made it.” said Rarity

“Of course, I didn’t want to miss this.” said Apple Bloom

“Yeah, she has been looking was look forward to this all day yesterday.” said Applejack

Then Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon carrying bags.

“Guess what? Our parents said we could come.” said Diamond Tiara

“Yeah!” said Silver Spoon

Then Snips and Snails came up.

“Where are you two’s bags?” asked Scootaloo

“Our parents said we couldn’t go.” said Snips in a disappointment tone.

“Oh!”

“I’m sorry I can’t let you boys come without you parents promotion.” said Rarity

“We understand.”

“Hey, where’s Rainbow Dash?” asked Scootaloo

“She should be here any minute. With someone else as well.” said Rarity

“Who?” asked Apple Bloom

As she asked Rainbow Dash came up while holding on to someone.

“What’s up, everypony? I see almost all of the gang is here.” said Rainbow Dash

“Let go of me! I’m not going to run away.” said Spike

“Spike, I didn’t know you were coming.” said Apple Bloom

“You better not of lied to me.” said Spike

“You’ll just have to wait and see.” said Rainbow Dash

“All right we are just have to wait for two more.” said Rarity

“Wait for us!” said Pinkie Pie as she and Fluttershy carrying bags.

“No, you on time the train isn’t here yet.” said Rarity

“Oh, that’s good.” said Fluttershy

The train arrived and the eleven of them got on it. Then the train got to the station and they got off. They got a few taxis and headed to the beach.

“Ok, we will be staying at that cottage on the hill there.” said Rarity showing them where they will be staying. “We need to carry the luggage up there.”

“Can we do it later and just go to the beach?” asked Diamond Tiara

“No, we can’t. This stallions have to get back to work, and we can’t leave a luggage out here for ponies to steal.”

“Well, she does have a point there.” said Rainbow Dash

“Well let’s get to it.”

They looked at all the luggage they brought with them.

“I know there is eleven of us. But I know that me and Applejack didn’t pack that much.” said Apple Bloom

“That would be my sisters fault.” said Sweetie Belle

“What did she pack? The store!” said Scootaloo

“Do you girls need some help?” asked a pony

The three of them looked to see how asked to help them. The were surprised to see who it was.

“Team Golden Lancer!” said Apple Bloom

“What are you doing here?” asked Scootaloo

“It was Twilight's idea for the training camp.” said Rarity

“We saw you compete and we were impressed of what we saw.” said Shining Armor

“Even though you didn't make it past the elimination round. You were the only team other the us to steal a win from team Asteroide. We think you have a lot of raw talent.” said Flash Sentry

“To be honest, I wanted this training camp to be our celebration for becoming the national champions. But, unfortunately it didn’t turn out that way.” said Twilight Sparkle

“But now we both have the same goal to defeat team Asteroide.” said Shining Armor

“Sounds good to me. I’m all fired up!” said Scootaloo

“Well this is a great opperationate.” said Rarity

Apple Bloom looked at Rarity curest of what she said.

“You’ll be able to learn and play with some of the best players in the country.”

“That sounds good.” said Apple Bloom

“Yeah, that was a great idea Rarity.” said Sweetie Belle

“It’s been along time since we last fought.” said Spike

“Yeah!” said Shining Armor

“Wait, it sounds like you know they would be here.” said Apple Bloom

“Yeah, that’s why I came.” said Spike

“That makes sense. So they were like bait.” said Scootaloo

“Because Spike is looking for strong fighters to face. I told him if he came along with us he would be able to face team Golden Lancer.” said Rainbow Dash

“I get it.” said Apple Bloom

“Are you ready?” asked Spike

“Spike vs Shining Armor. I have a feeling the match this match is going to be great.” said Silver Spoon

“It’s a match not out of place in the nation finals.” said Flash Sentry

“I can’t wait!” said Rainbow Dash

“If your going to fight we already a place ready. I’ll show you.” said Twilight Sparkle as she, Spike , Shining Armor, and Flash Sentry left.

“We should check it out.” said Scootaloo

“Of course.” said Apple Bloom as she, Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Silver Spoon followed them.

“But wait the beach.” said Diamond Tiara before she followed them.

“We should go too, Fluttershy. I have a feeling this is going to be a great match.” said Pinkie Pie

“Oh, no you don’t. You two are going to help me carry the luggage up there, ok.” said Rarity grabbing them before they left.

Up at the cottage Spike and Shining Armor were about to start their match.

“Stand up, Vanguard!” said Shining Armor

“Stand up the, Vanguard!” said Spike

“I guess he still says the vanguard. Apple Bloom do you want to have our own match?” asked Twilight Sparkle

“Sure, why not.” said Apple Bloom

“Stand up, Vanguard!”

In the match between Shining Armor and Spike the six card went into the damage zone on Shining Armor’s side.

“I lost.” said Shining Armor

“I can’t believe that Spike was able to beat the leader of team Golden Lancer.” said Silver Spoon

“Well thats Spike for you. You can't underestimate him.” said Rainbow Dash

“Maybe team Golden Lancer is not all they're cracked up to be.” said Diamond Tiara

“I figured she would say that.” said Silver Spoon

“Thinking about it I should have intercepted on turn seven instead of using a card from my hoof. You know what I had in my hoof because of my triggers.” said Shining Armor

“Yeah, but you didn’t have many options you needed to keep power in your front line.” said Spike

“Thinking back about the cards I had in my deck and there was a good chance I could have drawn a card of equal or greater power. To replace the unit.”

“Don’t forget you were up against a Kagero deck.”

“Oh yeah, I forgot about your ability to retire my rear guard.”

“Wow!” said Rainbow Dash

“I have no idea what they are talking about.” said Silver Spoon

“There all talk. A real fight just use grade threes. Thats how you win.” said Silver Spoon

“Whatever you say.”

“Don’t encourage her.” whispered Rainbow Dash

“Let’s see how Apple Bloom’s doing.” said Diamond Tiara heading for Apple Bloom and Twilight Sparkle.

“It’s my turn, I attack Gordon with Masked Police, Grander. I activate Grander’s skill to add 2000 power to Super Dimensional Robo, Daiyusha.” said Twilight Sparkle

“I guard with Gallatin.” said Apple Bloom

“Now my other Grander attacks Gordon with a boost from Karenroid Daisy. With Grander’s skill I add another 2000 power Super Dimensional Robo, Daiyusha.”

16000 to 8000

“I don’t guard.”

“With a boost from Daisy, Super Dimensional Robo, Daiyusha attacks Gancelot. When Daiyusha power is 14000 or more without a boost. His skill activities giving him plus one critical.”

‘If I take two more damage I’ll lose the game. With Daisy’s boost the attack is 22000. Gancelot’s power is 9000. Even if I guard with Epona it will only bring it up to 19000. I needed to Gordon to stop the attack.’ “I don’t guard.”

“Twin drive, first check (no tigger) second check. (draw trigger) Army Penguin, draw trigger. I add power to Daiyusha and draw.”

“Damage trigger check. (no trigger) One more, (no trigger) I was hoping for a heal trigger.”

“Apple Bloom lost.” said Applejack

“That was a fun game whant to play again?” asked Twilight Sparkle

“Sure, but can I ask you one question?” asked Apple Bloom

“Sure, what is it?”

“Why do you draw and check your drive checks and damage checks with you hoofs but you hold the card you draw with your magic? I’m just asking because I have been noticing this.”

“You see a unicorn can easily stack a deck when the shuffle it with their magic. So the rules say that unicorns can't use their magic on their decks but they can hold and mess with the cord on the field with their magic. You probably didn’t know about that rule because it didn’t affect you.”

“I guess your right.”

Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy just got up the hill with some of the bags.

“This is our fourth trip back up and we still have bags to bring up.” said Pinkie Pie exhausted

“Maybe next time Rarity, you could back less stuff?” asked Fluttershy also exhausted

“Yeah, now I know what they meant by. When they asked if I backed the whole store.” said Rarity the same as the other two.

“Again?!” said Applejack

“Wow, five losses in a row. But you aren’t making any mistakes.” said Sweetie Belle

“Sorry.” said Apple Bloom

“Sweetie Belle’s right, you're not making any mistakes, and it looks like you're all the right movie.” said Flash Sentry

“Do you mind if I take a quick look through your deck?” asked Twilight Sparkle

“Sure.” said Apple Bloom giving her deck to Twilight. Twilight levitated the deck to her and she and Flashed looked at it. “How is it?”

“It’s not bad.” said Flash Sentry

“Apple Bloom, it’s a good deck and you have strong units. But I don’t see a winning image.” said Twilight Sparkle

“What’s that?” asked Apple Bloom

“Think about it, when your playing somepony with that deck. Do you have a image that how are you going to win them?”

“How I’m going to win? I never thought about that.”

“You need to picture how you're going to win. So you know which ones to play and which ones to guard with.”

“Really.”

“Well, it’s my turn now. So who’s going to fight me?” asked Diamond Tiara

“I haven’t had a chance to play today.” said Flash Sentry

“Just don’t be surprised by my maxime strength deck.”

“I can’t wait.”

“A winning image.” whispered Apple Bloom

Later on in the day the sun was starting to go down.

“Well, I think thats enough for today.” said Diamond Tiara

“You know you lost.” said Rainbow Dash

“Yeah, he beat you thirteen times in a row.” said Silver Spoon

“Well I was just going easy on him.” said Diamond Tiara

“Of course you were.”

Then Rarity came over and said “Hey, why don’t we put the card away for a while.”

“So we’re going to the beach?” asked Diamond Tiara

“No, we are all going to work together to make dinner.”

“Can’t we have the servant do it?”

“We don’t have a servant. Also you wanted to come out to this training camp. So you're going to help out, ok.”

“That seems fair.” said Silver Spoon

“Ok, let get to cooking.” said Sweetie Belle

“Hey, Sweetie Belle.” said Rarity

“Yes.”

“Why don’t you help Twilight washing the dishes?”

“Why?”

“Let’s just say your not a good cook.”

“What do you mean she can be that bad, can she?” asked Twilight

“She burned juice.”

“What!!”

“And liquefied toost.”

“WHAT!! How is that even possible?”

“I don’t know.”

Twilight thought about it for a moment. “Ok, Sweetie Belle you’ll be doing the dishes with me.”

“Are you sure you won’t need my help?” asked Sweetie Belle

“YES!” shouted everypony

“Ok, then.”

As the rest of them were starting to cook. Shining Armor and Flash Sentry got and chopped it for firewood. Apple Bloom and Applejack were peeling potatoes. Apple Bloom almost cut her self.

“Apple Bloom are you alright?” asked Applejack

“Yeah.” said Apple Bloom

“You gotta be careful when you're using a knife.”

“Sorry, it just slipped peeling potatoes are hard.”

“Peeling potatoes is no different than peeling an apple.”

Diamond Tiara and Scootaloo were crying.

“I don’t know why, but I can stop myself from crying.” said Scootaloo

“Same here.” said Diamond Tiara

“That’s because the two of you are chopping onions.” said Silver Spoon

“Come to think about it, where’s Spike?” asked Rainbow Dash

“Did you call for me?” asked Spike as he stop chopping an onion a few feet from them.

“No, I was just wondering were you where and what you were doing.”

“Ok” as he returned to chopping the onion

“Well you can say this he is good with a knife.”

“I don’t think we need diced onions.” said Silver Spoon

“I’m planing the frie this up with seasoning.” said Spike

They all continued to cook.

“So how long till the onions are done?” asked Rainbow Dash

“Till they are ready.” said Spike

The food was done, then they all ate.

“Ok, the dishes are all done.” said Sweetie Belle

“Finally, we can go to the beach.” said Diamond Tiara

“I don’t think so. It’s too dark.” said Rarity

“No.”

“Don’t worry, we’ll swim tomorrow.” said Silver Spoon

“Besides, there is something else that fun to do at night.” said Rarity

They had some fun with sparkles and shouting some fireworks.

Apple Bloom said goodnight to Applejack right before she opened the door to the room they are going to be staying in. As she did Diamond Tiara throw her pillow at Apple Bloom.

“Hey, do you want to have a pillow fight?” asked Diamond Tiara

“No, we have to get up early tomorrow and if you sleep in you won’t have enough time to go swimming.” said Rarity as she pass by their room.

“Well let go to bed quickly.”

As the night went on everyone of them was a sleep. Except for Apple Bloom how was editing her deck. ‘I got to find a winning Image.’ thought Apple Bloom

“You’ll strain your eye.” said Rarity putting down a lantern.

“Rarity.”

“I hope you're able to learn something from this training trip.”

“Yeah.”

Rarity started to leave the room, but then looked back. ‘She just needs a little push in the right direction. But it can wait till tomorrow.’
