“Well Scootaloo you lost to me. That mean we’re getting married just like you promised. Where do you want to go for the honeymoon?” asked Rumble as both him and Scootaloo are wrapped around Thunderlane’s front hooves.
“No there is no way I’m going through with this I don’t want to marry you.” said Scootaloo
“Welcome to the family.” said Thunderlane
“Not a chance.” said Scootaloo getting out of Thunderlane’s grip and running over to here Apple Bloom. “Yeah it true I lost to you. But there are two fights left. So unless you beat team Crusaders it’s still up in the air.”
“What!!” said Rumble.
‘Oh that’s right the first team to win two cardfights wins the tournament. We lost the first game to team Handsome. But there is no way Spike can lose the second. That would tie it up.’ thought Apple Bloom “Hold on if we win the next match. Then the third match will determen the winner.”
“I’m counting no I’m begging you Apple Bloom please win your match against Thunderlane.” said Scootaloo
Apple Bloom then remembered her first match with Thunderlane. She ran over to Sweetie Belle. “Hey Sweetie Belle I think you should play the third match in my place.”
Scootaloo was shocked on what she heard Apple Bloom say.

In the back in the waiting room of the building the princess were watching the finals.

“Just be patient we have to give out the awards. After the medals and flowers are given out to the winning team.Then we will be done.” said Celestia
“The winning team huh? You know what I really hope team Crusaders wins. I mean Spike is my friend and Apple Bloom, and Sweetie Belle are sisters of two of my new friends. So I guess I got my favorite team in this tournament. What about you Luna?”
“Honestly I don’t know. We can’t tell if Apple Bloom got stronger sense the last time we say her. But I do hope she puts up a good fight.” said Luna

Back in the arena Apple Bloom was remembering what Spike just said. ‘But I know it would be better if Sweetie Belle and I switch places. I mean Spike must know that I’ll lose.’
“Pipsqueak of team Handsome will be going first.” said Pinkie Pie
“Here I go. I ride the Samurai Spirit.” He turned into an earth pony with a samurai sword and his head was made of red fire. “I use Guiding Zombie’s skill when I ride a Granblue unit on him I can move him to a rear guard cycle. Now thats my turn. You made it to the finals so have to be good. But against a pony like me who has been to the nationals. I don’t think you stand a chance.”

“It’s my turn, draw. I ride the Embodiment of Armor, Bahr. Lizard Soldier, Conroe has the same Skill as your Guiding Zombie so I’ll be moving him to a rear guard cycle. Now I call two Iron tail Dragons.” Two red dragons with blades on both sides of his arms and a blade on the end of their tails appeared. “I’ll have one of my Iron Tail Dragons attack Samurai Spirit.” The dragon flew towards him and slashed him with his tall.
“Damage check.” (No trigger)
“With support from Conroe, Bahr attacks. I check the drive trigger. It looks like I just got a critical trigger which means Bahr’s attack dealt you two damage.”
(both no triggers) “Where did that come from.”
“What are you doing” asked Thunderlane
“Now my other Iron Tail Dragon attacks.”

“Skeleton Lookout will guard.” A skeleton earth pony with a telescope appeared and got slashed by the dragons tail.
“It looks like it’s your turn.”
“That was so awesome it was only his first turn and already Spike has been able to deal three damage to his opponent.” said Pinkie Pie
Back in the waiting room. “Huh sound like thing are getting good.” said Cadence
“Spike’s aggressive and controlling playstyle is receiving the approval of this crowded.”
Back in the arena. “Of course Spike is doing well he is just as good as me.” said Diamond Tiara

“The powerful undead pirates of the Granblue are just dieing to meet you. I ride Captain Nightmist. I call Samurai Spirit, Ruin Shade, and the Dandy Guy, Romario.” A black mare with a blond mane and tail with a sword and shield appeared. “I attack Bahr with Ruin Shade, boosted by Romario. No I activate Ruin Shade’s skill by sending the two cards of my deck to the drop zone. She gains +2000 power till end of battle.” (no damage trigger.) “Now I attack you with Captain Nightmist. Drive trigger check” (no trigger) He ran up an slashed Spike with his sword.

“I’m not done yet. Now my Guiding Zombie supporters my Samurai Spirit in one more attack on your vanguard.”
“This will tie the game.” said Apple Bloom
“What is he trying to lose?” asked Scootaloo
“I don’t guard.” The samurai ran up and slashed him with his sword. (No trigger)
“Now that’s the kind of comeback from last years champions. Pipsqueak just struck back to even the score.” said Pinkie Pie
“Yes, he has managed to even things up.” said Rumble
“He caught up quick.” said Blossomforth
“You get it now. This is the power of somepony who has played at nationals.” said Pipsqueak
“This battle is just a waste of my time. A pony like you doesn't even come close to my level. I have nothing to gain from battling you.” said Spike
“It sounds like Spike is about to but on a show for us.” said Rainbow Dash

Then I call Chain-attack Sutherland and Gattling Claw Dragon.” A unicorn riding a dragon and a red mechanical dragon with five barrel gattling gun were his right claw should be. “Now I pay to activate front Iron Tail Dragon’s counterblast two times. Giving him +2000 power till the end of the turn. Now with support from Gattling Claw Dragon, Iron Tail Dragon attacks Captain Nightmist.” The dragon flew up and slashed him with one of his blades. (no trigger) “Now Nehalem attack with support from Conroe, drive check” (no trigger) He shot lighting from his speir hitting Pipsqueak. (no trigger)
“He put him to five damage already.” said Blossomforth in a shocked tone
“Boosted by Iron Tail Dragon, Chain-attack Sutherland attacks.”

“Romario will guard and Ruin Shade will intercept.”

“This is unbelievable he was able to survive. And maybe we will see a come from behind victory.” said Pinkie Pie
“At this rate I might actually lose. But I helped won the regionals last time and played at nationals.” said Pipsqueak
“Do you want me to tell Apple Bloom?” asked Rumble

‘Get it together I have to do is deal him another three damage to win. I’m going to finish this match.’ “I ride Spirit Exceed and I call Skeleton Lookout.” He turned into an armored earth pony with two sword and a blue flaming head. “I now use Captain Nightmist’s ability from the drop zone. Retire Samurai Spirit and call him from the drop zone.”
“He is resurrecting them just like Thunderlane.” said Apple Bloom
“I don’t seem like a waste of time now you have seen the pirate resurrection teknek. Now I activate Samurai Spirit’s skill retiring Guiding Zombie and call him from the drop zone. I’ll have Samurai Spirit support Captain Nightmist in an attack on your vanguard.”

“I guard that with Tahr.”

“Now I attack you with Exceed.”

“I don’t guard.”
“Twin drive.” (both no triggers) He slashed Spike with both of his swords.
“What does he think he's doing. Why isn’t he protecting himself?” shouted Scootaloo
“I don’t know.” said Apple Bloom
Spike looked back at Apple Bloom and said “Picture it.”
Pipsqueak was confused on what Spike said.
‘Spike must be trying to tell me something. Picture it.’ thought Apple Bloom closing her eye. Then appearing above the fight in spirit form. “What is it.”
“I may not have gotten any trigger but I still have one more attack for you.” said Pipsqueak
“Go ahead.” said Spike
“Oh I’m going to go for it. With support from Romario, Skeleton Lookout attacks.”

“I don’t guard.”
“How come?” asked Apple Bloom
The Skeleton ran up then jumped up and hit him with his telescope. (No trigger)
“But why didn’t you defend?” asked Apple Bloom seeing Spike still standing. “Oh I see you knew you would survive his attacks without guarding.”
“It looks like we’re tied at five damage so all I have to do is survive till the next turn and I win.” said Pipsqueak with his hoof shaking ‘What’s going on?’
“He just lost the game.” said Thunderlane
"Final Turn!"said Spike
“Final turn you say. Let me tell you something. I’m going to gonna last out this turn and send my team to the nationals.” said Pipsqueak
“I draw, then ride the Blazing Flare Dragon.” He turned into a huge red dragon with a sword in his right claw and wear his left claw should be there was two three barrel gattling guns. With two smaller arms under his big arms both hold a sword. “Now I activate Gattling Claw Dragon’s counterblast. I get to retire one of your grade zero rear guard units. Then he moves to the soul.” The dragon fired his gun destroying the Skeleton.
“No not my Skeleton Lookout.”
“Now I activate Blazing Flare Dragon’s skill. Whenever one of your rear guards is sent to the drop zone he gain 3000 power until the end of the turn.”
“No way.”
“Now I use Sutherlands skill it’s the exact same so he also gain 3000 power. Finally I call Bahr. Conroe supports Blazing Flare Dragon’s attack.”
18000 to 10000
“No I can't defend myself.”
“Now I check the twin drive. First (Critical), second (Critical). That a critical trigger times two.”
“Is he for real?” asked Diamond Tiara in shocked
“As real as they come.” said Rainbow Dash with a smirk on her face
Spike aimed his guns at Pipsqueak and then fired. Then after he roared out in victory. (no trigger)
When the field when back to normal Pipsqueak just stared with his mouth opened.
“The winner is Spike.” said the Judge
The crowed cheered.
“And just like that team Crusaders tie it up with one win apiece.” said Pinkie Pie
In the waiting room.
“Overkill.” said Luna
“Yeah but Spike is an amazing cardfighter though.” said Cadence
Back in the arena.
Spike was walking back to his site.
‘He was incredible. He knew exactly what his opponent was capable of. I can’t believe it compared to him I’m nothing. I want to be as strong as Spike someday. So I can face him as an equal and here I was thinking of running away from a battle like a coward. What good would that do?’ thought Apple Bloom
“Don’t you think you overdid it? I bet you freaked out Apple Bloom even more than she was before.” said Rainbow Dash

Haven't read the story yet [i`m fic hunting for a group] but in your summary.
Cardfight Vanguard a card game that has speared [Spread...Speared?] through out the entire world. It's a life altering experience. Join Apple Bloom and her friends in there [Their] epic Cardfights. Image it the path to victory. [That last sentence... what?]
I find that i can let a lot of mistakes in the story itself go over my head but mistakes in the summary.... well, i`m just pointing it out.

what i mean is, the group i mentioned i was hunting for it about ponies playing competetive sports of pretty much any kind as long as they fit into a tournament style. so if the story feature characters playing this card game against multiple opponents one after the other i think it would qualify.
