Ride 53: The Battle Begins! Tournament Finals

Team Crusaders were outside of the tournament stadium.

“At last the tournament finals. We made it far.” said Apple Bloom

“Of course we did.” said Scootaloo

“That right, you are all top level players. Here we go just remember to have fun and you will do great.” said Rarity then she noticed the team was already heading in side. “Oh no, you're not leaving me this time.” she said as she run up to catch up with them.

“I bet Rarity is the one worried the most.” said Sweetie Belle

‘Thanks to everyone I was able to come here. Win or lose I’m just glad I get to do this with my friends.’ thought Apple Bloom

In side the stadium. There was a lot of teams there.

“We are stand next to some of the strongest teams.” said Rarity

“That team Wild Angel.” said Scootaloo as she looked at a team of three pegasus mares. “And that's team Southern Winds.” she said looking at a team of crystal ponies.

“I seen most of this team in Vanguard Monthly.”

“So we are the underdog in a stadium of strong cardfighters.” said Sweetie Belle as on of her hooves shook.

“Whats the matter are you scared?”

“What are you talking about? I’m just because of all the excitement.”

“That’s right! I’m trempling with excitement as well.” said Scootaloo

“I think you mean trembling.”

“Hey, there team Crusaders.” said a pony

They looked and say it was team Golden Lancer.

“Team Golden Lancer.” said Apple Bloom

As she said that a lot of the other team looked and saw them as well.

“Ah, do you mind if we talk inside?” asked Flash Sentry in a nervous tone.

Then went inside in the hall.

“Flash sometime you can get so shy.” said Twilight Sparkle

“Being a little shy doesn't hurt anypony.” said Apple Bloom

“Apple Bloom something about you has changed from the preliminaries. It’s like you're back to normal.” said Shining Armor

“I say the replays of your fights last week. Good work, impressive.” said Spike

“Thanks, but it was your team that impressed us.” said Flash Sentry

“Yeah, you all improved a lot from our training camp.” said Twilight Sparkle

“At the time team Crusaders would become our rival. And seeing you at the elimination round made us certain on it.” said Shining Armor

“Well it’s thanks to you.” said Apple Bloom

“I’m really looking forward to fighting you here.”

“That’s right, but we are going to beat you.” said Scootaloo

“We’re not going to lose ether.” said Twilight Sparkle

“Let’s all fight to the best of our abilities.” said Shining Armor

“Right!” said Apple Bloom

In the stadium.

“The best fighters are here today to prove that they have what it takes. This is there chance to claim the ultimate prize.” said Pinkie Pie

“Thank you for your patience, everypony.” said Cadence

“The vanguard championship.” said Luna

“Tournament finals.” said Celestia

“Has begun.” said the three princesses

The crowd cheered.

In the stands.

“Well I guess we will see you on the battlefield.” said Shining Armor

“Yeah!” said Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle as team Golden Lancer left.

In the stadium.

“The sixteen team here are the strongest teams we have here. So let give a big round of applause to all the mares and colts that made it here.” said Pinkie Pie Then the crowed cheered once again.

“No we will say how the finals will work out for all the newcomers.” said Cadence

“Unlike the preliminary rounds, the finals are single elimination rounds.” said Luna

“Today we are going to see fourteen matches then tomorrow the last two teams.” said Celestia

“Will fight each other.” said Cadence

“For the championship.” said Luna

“Now let me hear you if you want to watch some amazing cardfights.” said Pinkie Pie Then the crowed cheered. As team Crusaders got back on the field. “I can’t hear you. I said are you ready to see what team is the strongest?” the crowed cheered even louder. “That’s what I like to hear. Next is the pledge of fair play. The person giving it is the leader of the team who won last time, and who will be participating this time as well. From team Asteroid Flip Side.” said Pinkie Pie

The crowed cheered as Flip Side came on to the stage. Then he took the mic and said. “To the talented cardfights to make it here you should be proud. But it was a waste of time because you have no chance.” The teams started to talk as they heard that. “It is foolish to think any of you could beat any of the players on team asteroid. The members on Asteroid are the strongest, and on top of that I have a special power that only the chosen possess. I’m sure that there might be someponies out there that think they could win. But I’m going to bring you back to relatie. No matter how hard you battle the results of this matches will stay the same. Victory belongs to asteroid. Just face it none of you can get higher than runner up. But please entertain me with your pointless struggles.” He laugh as he gave the mic back to Pinkie Pie and left the stage. Him and his team walked on the field and was walking towards team crusaders.

“Flip Side.” said Apple Bloom

“Apple Bloom, If you didn’t know you inspired that warm up speech. So what do you want? Don't tell me you've changed your foolish mind and want to accept my invitation to join Asteroid.”

“I don’t want to become like you.”

Apple Bloom reached into her bag and pulled out a deck. “I’m returning this.” she said as she holded the deck out to him. “Yes Psyqualia is amazing. But I don’t want to be addicted to that power. Vanguard isn't about humiliating ponies. If you do that, you're sure to lose something precious. I have decided to walk my own path instead of blindly following yours. Then when we face each other I’ll win.”

Flip Side lift his hoof up and slapped the cards out off in sending the cards flying and scattered on the ground.

“What was that for?” shouted Scootaloo

“You’re pushing your luck far enough.” said Sweetie Belle

“Thats what she gets for trying to show off.” said Sunset Shimmer

“I hate everything about you. I can’t wait to battle you. I’ll beat you so hard.” said Scootaloo

“This should be fun.” said Lightning Dust

Apple Bloom picked up all the card on the ground.

“Apple Bloom, I’ll make you regret becoming my enemy.” said Flip Side Then he walked away laughing.

“I thought you got rid of that.” said Scootaloo

“I thought of it but it wasn’t mine to begin with. So I waited to give it back to Flip Side.” said Apple Bloom

“I wonder if she can still win without the Shadow Paladin’s.” whispered Cadence

“Well I guess everypony is fired up and ready for some cardfighrts. So lets see the pairings for the matches.” said Pinkie Pie Then the screen showed the numbers one to sixteen. Then team Crusaders team name showed up and went to spot number one.

“Will it looks like we are playing in the first match.” said Apple Bloom

“Great I’m even more pumped up.” said Scootaloo

Then team asteroid and went to spot fifteen.

“In that spot means we will not be facing Flip Side’s team tell we make it to the finals.” said Rarity

“Wait till they find out that they are facing use for the championship. We will show them not to underestimate us. I call the first game.”

“I want the second game.” said Sweetie Belle

“Then….” said Apple Bloom

“I’m not going to fight. You won the elimination round without me. So you can finish this without me.” said Spike cutting Apple Bloom off.

“What do you mean?” asked Scootaloo

“What Spike is saying is that you three made it here with your own strength. Spike thinks you girls can do this without his help. Am I right?” said Rarity

“So that is what you were trying to say.” said Scootaloo

“Thanks, I’ll do my best Spike.” said Apple Bloom

“Yeah I hope so, good luck.” said Spike

‘Team Crusaders will be waiting for you tomorrow.’

Some time later.

“The action is really heating up her as the first match is under way.” announced Pinkie Pie

“I’m going to win this match for sure.” said Scootaloo as she attacked her opponent and send the six card to the damage zone.

“The winner Scootaloo.” said the judge

In the dugout.

“Way to go Scootaloo.” said Apple Bloom

some more time later.

“Here’s where I win.” said Sweetie Belle as she attacked sending the sixth card to damage zone.

“The winner Sweetie Belle.” said the judge

In the stands.
“Team Crusaders have won their first two matches.” announced Pinkie Pie

“They are going to the next round.” said Fluttershy

“Let’s check the match between team Golden Lancer and Southern Winds.”

“Let go, Enigman Storm.” said Shining Armor he attacked sending the six card in the damage zone.

“The winner Shining Armor.” said the judge

In the stands.

“Shining Armor really is strong.” said Apple Bloom

“Thats team Golden Lancer for you.” said Sweetie Belle

“We are not going to lose.” said Scootaloo

some more time later.

“This battle between team Crusaders and team Wild Angel is really heating up.” said Pinkie Pie

Scootaloo attacked her opponent and send the sixth card to the damage zone.

“The winner Scootaloo.” said the judge

‘I can guard with 20000 with the cards in my hoof, 25000 with my intercept. I should be able to withstand her attacks’ thought the pegasus mare.

“Final turn! Goddess of light descend I ride CEO Amaterasu. With her skill she gains 4000 power, and with her other skill I soulcharge and check the top card of my deck.” said Sweetie Belle as she left it on the top. “I call, with the skill of White Hare of Inaba I but one card from my hoof in to the soul.”

“What!?”

“It looks like you found out, but just a little too late. With a boost from Gemini, Battle Maiden, Tagitsuhime attacks.”

“And with Tagitsuhime’s skill….”

“That right when there are six are more cards in the soul she gain 3000 power.”

In the stadium.

“That’s a strong rear guard.” said silver Spoon

“Yeah, but it’s only a grade two.” said Diamond Tiara

“And she has a second one as well. Which means all here rows are attacking for 20000.” said Rainbow Dash

In the dugout.

“Now her opponent has to guard with 15000 points in shield to guard each attack.” said Scootaloo

“Sweetie Belle is doing great.” said Apple Bloom

In the stadium.

“I guard with Sweet Honey and intercept with Knight of Verdure, Gene.”

“With a boost from Inaba, Amaterasu attacks.”

20000 to 10000

“No guard.”

“Drive trigger check.(heal trigger)”

“I recover one point of damage and give the power the Tagitsuhime that hasn’t attack. No trigger)” She Hit her opponent with a magical blast (no trigger). “Tagitsuhime.” Tagitsuhime slashed her sending the sixth card to the damage zone.

“The winner Sweetie Belle.” said the judge

“Team Crusaders has made it to the semifinals.” announced Pinkie Pie as the crowed cheered.

“You and your friends a really strong.” said the Pegasus mare

“Thanks.” said Sweetie Belle

“From this point our hope is on team Crusaders.”

“What do you mean?”

“Team Asteroid! What he said in the opening destroyed everyponies mood. Defeat them and show them that they aren’t so tough.”

“Leave it to us.”

“We are all counting on you.”

sometime later.

“Now all the matches in the second round are done. Now lets take a look at the final four.” announced Pinkie Pie

On the screen showed Team Crusaders, Team Asteroid, Team Golden Lancer, and Team Brilliant Song.

“I know that team Asteroid would make it, but Brilliant Song as well.” said Scootaloo

“And team Golden Lancer.” said Sweetie Belle

“Now we are going to randomize the pairing for the semifinals.” said Pinkie Pie

On the screen showed team Brilliant Song vs team Asteroid.

“So the first fight is Brilliant Song vs Asteroid.” said Sweetie Belle

“Well thats lucky.” said Scootaloo

“Then that means we will be playing….”

Then the screen showed team Crusaders vs team Golden Lancer.

“Team Golden Lancer!” said Scootaloo

“Now with the top four team paired we can start the semifinals.” said Pinkie Pie

sometime later.

“I end my turn.” Noteworthy ‘I lost my chance I had to finish her off last turn.’ he remembered what Flip Side said.

“Losing to team Crusaders is unacceptable. But I am a generous pony and give you a second chance. If you or anyone on your team can beat Lightning Dust or Sunset Shimmer and your failure will be forgiven.” said Flip Side

“Thank you, so much.” said Noteworthy

back in the present.

“Final Turn!” said Lightning Dust

In the stands.

“I can see it.” said Rainbow Dash as Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon looked at her. “You have to think about what happened last turn. She guarded twice with Dark Soul Conductor.”

Last turn.

“I activate Dark Soul Conductor’s skill, when he is placed into the drop zone from the guard cycle I get to soul charge two cards.” said Lightning Dust

Now.

“By using that ability twice he was able to add four cards to her soul.”

“She has thirteen cards in there.” said Silver Spoon

“That’s what I call a game changer.”

In the stadium.

“I call….” said Lightning Dust as she called three units.

In the stands.

“Stil Vampir.” said Scootaloo

“Yeah, but you should be paying attention to Demon of Aspiration, Amon. With six or more cards in the soul he gains 3000.” said Spike

“And on top of that his vanguard is Demon World Marquis, Amon. He gain 1000 power for each card in the soul.” said Apple Bloom

“Thats 23000 power.” said Scootaloo

“Noteworthy must have been desperate last turn. Because he just gave Lightning Dust the game.” said Spike

In the stadium.

“With support from Prisoner Beast, Demon of Aspiration, Amon attacks.” Her monster went up and slashed Noteworthy. “Now Demon World Marquis, Amon attack with a boost from Alluring Succubus.” She attacked and send the sixth card to the damage zone.

“The winner is Lightning Dust.” said the judge

In the stadium.

“It was like he was just toying with him.” said Scootaloo

Some more time later.

“I’m finishing this with Barking Manticore.” said Sunset Shimmer as she attacked and send the sixth card to the damage zone.

“The winner is Sunset Shimmer.” said the judge

“And with that team Asteroid moves to the finals.” said Pinkie Pie

The Brilliant Song heard a laugh coming from the stands and saw Trixie.

“What is she doing here.” said Noteworthy

“Seeing you lose just made my day. Because you’re the same as me.” said Trixie

“We made them believe they had hope. Then we crushed it. Might I ask is there anything sweeter?” said Flip Side Then he remembered what Apple Bloom said.

“If you do that, you're sure to lose something precious.” said past Apple Bloom

“Stupid…. Nonsense….” he whispered as team Asteroid left the field.

“Lightning Dust and Sunset Shimmer are strong as well.” said Apple Bloom

“They might be stronger than last time.” said Sweetie Belle

“Don’t lose focus just yet you still have you still have one more challenge before them.” said Rarity pointing to team Golden Lancer.

‘Lets see if you really can be are rivals. This is your chance to prove it.’ thought Shining Armor

‘We’re going to give it all we got.’ thought Apple Bloom

“Alright time for the second semifinal match with team Crusaders vs team Golden Lancer.” said Pinkie Pie as the crowed cheered.

In Flip Sides room

“Lets see how good you really are, Apple Bloom” said Flip Side

Nice chapter. I think this was good. the next chatpers will be intense. I can't wait to read about those 2 major battles.
