Ride 29: When The Moon is Full

At Carousel Boutique Rarity and Sweetie Belle were getting ready to go too Canterlot for the vanguard national tournament. Sweetie Belle grabbed a chest on her desk and opened it with her key. She grabbed the deck that was in there.

Welcome back to the vanguard national championship. We seen tons of great cardfights today. As all the teams are trying to be at the top of their blocks.” announced Pinkie Pie

‘We lost to the Wonderbolts. I mean we didn’t even win a single battle.’ thought Scootaloo “I’m sorry girls.” ‘If I stayed with the team maybe the results might of been different. But I can't fight on the same team as Spike. I can’t go back.’

‘We have to battle the three teams in our block and only the top two can move on to the finals next week.’ thought Apple Bloom

“Hey Spike, I’m sorry I was wondering if you can help me with the order for the next fight?” asked Apple Bloom

“Rarity, could you take a look at the order I made for the next fights?” asked Apple Bloom

“Right, Spike will win the first match making it a lot easier for me and Sweetie Belle to get the second win. That plan probably seems a bit couredley.”

Taking a quick look at the roster selection for team Crusaders. It’s Spike, Sweetie Belle, and Apple Bloom. Team Muscle Brain is going with. It’s Kicking Shoe, Punch Can, and Wrestling Snake.”

“Battling first Spike vs Kicking Shoe.” said the Judge as they walked over.

“Let the battle begin.” said the Judge then a table spun around Spike. then stopped in front of him.

“I ride Blazing Core Dragon, and call Gattling Claw Dragon.” Spike turned into a red dragon with a yellow orb in the center of his chest and a sword in his right claws. “I activate Blazing Core Dragon’s counterblast. I move Gattling Claw Dragon and Iron tail Dragon to the soul. Then….” said Spike as he looked throw his deck. “Lord of destruction rising through sacrifice fly and set yourself upon my enemy Blazing Flare Dragon superior ride.”

“What, you went second and have a grade three already?”

“I call Nehalem and Dragonic Overlord. I attack King of Sword with Blazing Flare Dragon. Twin drive. (No trigger, critical trigger) Got it critical trigger.”

“How does he get so lucky all the time?” asked Diamond Tiara

“You can’t help but feel bad for the other guy.” said Rainbow Dash

In the stadium.

Two card went in to the damage zone both no triggers.

“Next comes Dragonic Overlord and a powered up Nehalem, light them up.” said Spike as Dragonic Overlord shot fire at him.

“I guard with Red Lightning.” said Kicking Shoe as a an earth pony with a white mane and tail with cord attached to his front hooves appeared and stop Nehalem’s attack. “I’m at five damage already.”

“I hate to admit it but his strong.” said Scootaloo

In the stadium.

“FINAL TURN! I call Demonic Dragon Mage, Kimnara.” A purple dragon with a staff appeared. “Counterblast, Kimnara moves to the soul. Now I can retire one of your grade one rear guards, Tough Boy. Whenever I retire on of my opponents rear guards Blazing Flare Dragon’s power goes up by 3000. Then I soulblast, I retire another one of your rear guards, Hungry Dumpty. With that, Blazing Flare Dragon’s power again increase by 3000. With a boost from Conroe, Blazing Flare Dragon attacks.” Spike aimed his guns at Kicking Shoe and then fired. (no trigger)

“The winner from team Crusaders, Spike.” said the Judge as the crowd cheered.

“Wow, what a win. Spike just obliterated his opponent. Thanks to him the Crusaders have one in the bag.” said Pinkie Pie

“That certainly was exciting, wasn’t it? I hope we see some more battles like that.” said Fluttershy

“That was amazing great work.” said Rarity

“You're strong Spike. He didn’t stand a chance.” said Apple Bloom

“A win is a win, no matter how you get it.” said Spike walking into the dugout.

Then I put the card on the bottom of my deck in any order.” she said as she looked at the five. “I superior ride Goddess of the Crescent Moon, Tsukuyomi.” She turned into a unicorn that looks a lot like Luna.

“I call Oracle Guardian, Gemini and Psychic Bird.” A green parite appeared. “With support from Psychic Bird, Tsukuyomi. Drive trigger check. (no trigger).” She lit up her horn and fired a beam at him.

“Gemini attacks nexts.” There faces opened up and fired lasers.

I call Clay-doll Mechanic.” A yellow mechanical earth pony appeared. “When Clay-doll enters the fill I can flip on card in the damage zone. Then I call one more Clay-doll Mechanic. Filping the other card over.” said Kicking Shoe

‘Wow, I didn’t expect him to be this good with Nova Grapplers. Still not as good as me of course.’ thought Scootaloo

‘This will be the one.’ She thought as she drew her card and seeing it was Chocolat. ‘No such luck.’ “I activate Goddess of the Crescent Moon, Tsukuyomi’s skill. I look at the top five cards and if one of them is Goddess of the Half Moon, Tsukuyomi, I can do a superior ride. It’s not there.”

“To bad for you. You didn't’ get what you need.”

“You see you can’t stop the changing of the moon. I ride Goddess of the Half Moon Tsukuyomi.” She turned in to that same unicorn but she was riding Godhawk, Ichibyoshi.

“You had it all along.”

“When I ride her and if Crescent Moon and Godhawk are in the soul, I can soulcharge two cards. I activate Psychic Bird’s skill, I move it to the soul and draw a card.” ‘Where could it be.’

“Looks like thing are not going the way you want them to.”

“Gemini moves back.”

“Hey don’t ignore me, I’m talking here.”

“I call two Silent Toms and Weather Girl, Milk. With a boost from Milk, Tsukuyomi attacks. Milk’s skill adds another 4000 power. Drive trigger check. (no trigger)” Sweetie Belle had the hawk fly up, she lit her horn and fired a beam at him.

‘Since Gemini can’t stand, all I can do is target his rear guard. I attack Karma Queen with Silent Tom.” Tom held out his hoof and shot an air blast at Karma Queen. “My other Silent Tom attacks Clay-doll Mechanic.” The other Silent Tom did the same but with Clay-doll.

“I ride Gold Rutile.” He turned into a purple armored earth pony with two swords. I call Death Metal Droid and Karma Queen.” A green mechanical unicron with his horn hooked to a gun on his side. “I activate Karma Queen’s counterblast, making one of your Silent Tom’s unable to stand next turn.

In the stands.

“So he’s using that annoying ability again.” said Rainbow Dash

In the stadium.

“Here's a quick jap from Death Metal.” Death Metal aimed his gun and fired it. (no trigger) “With Gold Rutile’s skill, when your vanguard is hit by one of my rear guards I can flip one card in the damage zone face up.”

In the stand.

“Why doesn't she guard?” asked Diamond Tiara

“Maybe she only has grade three’s in her hoof.” said Silver Spoon

“Look girls here it comes.” said Rainbow Dash

A filly unicorn appeared her horn glowed but when she try to shout they blasts went all over the place. “It seems your attack is a failure.” said Sweetie Belle sending a card to the drop zone.

“Gold Rutile is a very dangers vanguard, because if the attack hit. Then you can activate a counterblast and stand a Nova Grappler rear guard.” said Spike

“That means another attack.” said Apple Bloom

“Sweetie Belle relive the danger she was in if it got powered up with a trigger. So she nullify it.”

In the stadium.
“Checking twin drive, first check (no trigger), second check (critical trigger) critical trigger. I’m going to give all the effects to my Karma Queen. I attack with Karma Queen supported by Clay-doll Mechanic to give you a body blow.”

“I guard with Oracle Guardian, Nike and intercept with Silent Tom.”

“Goddess of the Full Moon.” said Apple Bloom

“Sweetie Belle, did she just pulled of two superior rides in one fight?” said Scootaloo

in the stadium.

“Now I activate the Goddess of the Full Moon, Tsukuyomi’s counterblast. I draw two cards from my deck and put one card from my hoof into the soul. Then I counterblast once more.” said Sweetie Belle

“Having more cards in hoof doesn't change the number of times you can attack me. I only have three damage all I have to do is protect myself. Then I’ll strike the finishing blow.” said Punch Can

“I call CEO Amaterasu and Gemini. Supported by Milk, Tsukuyomi attacks your vanguard. Twin drive, (no trigger, draw trigger) draw trigger Amaterasu gains 5000 power and I draw.” She flew up in to the air and lit her horn and fired a beam at him.

“Damage trigger check.” (no trigger)

“Amaterasu attacks with a boost from Gemini.”

“I guard with two Red Lightnings.”

“Silent Tom attacks with a boost from Gemini.” Tom held out his hoof and shot an air blast at him. (no trigger)

“That’s five damage, but you just couldn’t end it. This is going to be the last round, get ready to feel the power of my knock out punch.”

“Knock out? I have six cards in hoof and a unit to intercept as well. So you think you can break throw my defense.”

“But standing in their way is a team with an undefeated record coming into this final match. It’s none other than last years champions, team Asteroid.” said Pinkie Pie
