Ride 46: The Coiling Thread

“Here at the vanguard national championship, the elimination rounds are underway. Each of this teams trying to make it to the finals.” said Pinkie Pie

“This is exciting.” said Fluttershy

In the infirmary.

“Scootaloo and I are going to fight the rest of the matches of the elimination round.” said Sweetie Belle

“Why?” asked Apple Bloom

“You’ve been collapsing too much. We’re worried about you.” said Scootaloo

“I’m going to participat. You're going to need my strenght to get through the elimination round.” Apple Bloom put her hoof to her head.

“Apple Bloom.” said Applejack

“You can’t fight like this!” said Sweetie Belle

“But…..” said Apple Bloom

“We can make it to the finals without your help.” Then she left

“Hey!” said Scootaloo as she followed Sweetie Belle“Did you have to say it like that. I get it you don’t want to loss but Apple Bloom has feelings.”

“Have you given up making it to the finals?”

“Of course not! But I don’t want to leave Apple Bloom behind.”

“So we have to win without her so she has a spot to came back to.”

“If you put it that way.”

Sometime later, Scootaloo was walking down a hall.

“Tournament finals here we come.” said Scootaloo She saw a peach earth pony mare with a blue mane and tail, crying. “What’s wrong?”

“My team says I’m a failure and if I loss my matches they will kick me of the team.” she said

around the corner.

‘Like we would do that. But sometimes you have to do stuff to get the win.’ thought an earth pony mare

sometime later, Sweetie Belle was walking as well.

“I know you're there. Why don’t you come out.” said Sweetie Belle

A pink earth pony with a purple mane and tail came around the corner.

“Sweetie Belle, lives with her sister Rarity. She uses her memory against those she battles.” she said

“Who are you?”

“I’m one of your opponents from team Spyder. We’ve investigated all of you. Sunset Shimmer said a lot.” Sweetie Belle got a shocked look. “Your reaction is just as I predicted. Your goal is defeat Sunset Shimmer in this tournament. But have you mastered the Goddess of the Full Moon? You lost the first time because you didn’t have enough control of your deck. What about this time? I know the answer. You haven't master the Goddess of the Full Moon. And just like last time you and your team are going to lose.” then she left

In the infirmary luna was watching over Apple Bloom. But when she wake up she was gone.

“What is it Apple Bloom?” asked Applejack

“Nothing.” said Apple Bloom then she grabbed her head.

“You have to take it easy.”

Sometime later.

“Up next we have team Crusaders vs team Spyder.” announced Pinkie Pie

‘It’s her.’ thought Scootaloo as she saw the pony from before.

“Loss your match and you know what will happen.” said a pony

“Yes, right.” stuttered the peach pony

“Oh, it looks like Apple Bloom is sitting this out and her teammates are going to continue with only two fighters.” announced Pinkie Pie

“According to the rules if this goes to the third game and Apple Bloom is not here, their opponents will win by default. In other words they can't afford to lose a single match.” said Fluttershy

In the room.

“She’s sitting out. You still have a long uay to go how to use your Psyqualia, Apple Bloom.” said Flip Side

in the stands.

“Are they going to be ok?” asked Silver Spoon

“You have to relax, and have faith in them.” said Snips

“Yeah!” said Snails

“Did you miss me. Sorry that I’m late.” said Rainbow Dash as she took a seat.

In the princess chambers Luna enter.

“You're late!” said Cadance

“Why did you get involved? You know it’s our job to…..” said Celestia

“I know!” said Luna

In the stadium.

“For the first match we have Scootaloo from team Crusaders vs Coco Pommel from team Spyder.” said Pinkie Pie

‘I can’t believe they tricked me like that. But I must win this.’ thought Coco Pommel

In the dugout.

“Lets just hope she can keep up this shurad.” said the pony

In the stadium.

“Let the battle begin.” said the judge

“Stand up, Vanguard!”

Coco turned into a pony sized larva, and Scootaloo turned into a mechanical earth pony with gun hooked to one hoof and a shield on the other.

in the stands.

“Blaujunger? What happened to Battleraizer?” asked Diamond Tiara

“You're just now noticing. She used it in her first match.” said Silver Spoon

“Sound about right! Coming into a big tournament its natural to make changes to ones deck.” said Rainbow Dash

sometime later.

“This match is intense tied with five damage each. Will Scootaloo win it here?” announced Pinkie Pie

“You seem much calmer than I thought you would be.” said Scootaloo

“W-w-well y-y-you s-s-s-see.” stuttered Coco Pommel

“You were faking it.” said Scootaloo

“A-a-a-a-a-a-a.”

“Thats it attack Stern Blaukluger! Stardust blaster!” said Scootaloo as she attacked Coco Pommel

“The winner Scootaloo.” said the judge

The two of them headed back the their own dugouts.

“I’m sorry.” said Coco

“It’s ok, we might of lost the first round but I’ll make sure we win the second round.” said the pink pony

“Now the second is between Sweetie Belle of team Crusaders vs Suri Polomare of team Spyder.” said Pinkie Pie

“Let the second match begin.” said the judge

“I’m going to take a redraw.” said Sweetie Belle ‘No goddess of the half moon or goddess of the full moon.’ she remembered what her opponent said and shook her head.

“Stand up, Vanguard!”

“I ride Pupa Mutant, Giraffa.” she turned into a armored lava. With the skill of Larva Mutant, Giraffa I can search my deck for Elite Mutant, Giraffa and add it to my hoof. That ends my turn.”

“I draw, I activate Godhawk, Ichibyoshi’s skill. I check the top five cards for Goddess of the Crescent Moon, Tsukuyomi.” ‘No goddess of the crescent.’ “I ride Goddess of the Crescent Moon, Tsukuyomi. I call Psychic Bird and use it skill to send it to the soul and draw. I call dark cat, with it skill we can each draw a card.”

“Thank you for increasing the size of my hoof.”

‘Goddess of the Half Moon.’ “With support from dark cat, Goddes of the Crescent Moon attacks. Drive check, critical trigger. Thats 5000 power and pulse one critical to Goddess of the Crescent Moon.” She lit up her horn and fired a blast at her opponent.

“Damage trigger check, first (no trigger). Second (no trigger). My turn, I stand and draw. I ride Elite Mutant, Giraffa.” She turned into a beetle with a staff. “I call Tail Joe, Gloom Flyman, and Stealth Millipede.” Two centipedes and a huge fly appeared. “With Millipede’s support my vanguard attacks. With Pupa Mutant in the soul Elite’s power goes up by 1000. On top of that I activate Millipede’s skill if all your units it boosts my vanguard by another 4000 power.”

in the stands.

“That’s an annoying skill.” said Rainbow Dash

“It’s easy to avoid if you don't rest your units.” said Diamond Tiara

“But your units rest when they attack.” said Silver Spoon

“Then she doesn't attack.”

“But she can't win if she can’t attack.”

“Oh, right.”

in the stadium.

Elite hit Goddess of Crescent Moon.

“Damage trigger check.” (no trigger)

“I activate Giraffa’s skill. When his attack hits I can chose one of my opponent's rear guards and it can’t stand next turn, Dark Cat. To trap your opponents and stop them from attacking or boosting is how megacolony fights. With boost from Flyman, Tale Joe attacks. If all my opponent’s units are at rest he gains 3000 power.” Tail Joe swung his tail at Sweetie Belle.

“Damage trigger check, draw trigger. I draw one card and the power goes to my vanguard.”

“To bad, you didn’t get that trigger sooner.”

“I activate Tsukuyomi’s skill, to look at the top five cards.” ‘Goddess of the Half Moon isn’t here.’

“You're going to lose again, your team to.”

“I ride the Half Moon thats in my hoof. With the skill of Goddes of the Half Moon I soulcharge. I call Battle Sister Cocoa, using her skill to check the top card.” Sweetie Belle send the card to the bottom of her deck.

“It looks like you still can’t find it.”

“I call Oracle Guardian, Red Eye and Goddess of the Crescent Moon, Tsukuyomi. Goddess of the Half Moon attack Tail Joe. Drive trigger check.” (no trigger) She fired a blast at the bug. “I attack your vanguard with Red Eye supported by Goddess of the Crescent Moon.”

16000 to 10000

“I guard with Megacolony Battler A.” A pony sized ant appeared. “I activate Megacolony Battler A skill, it move from the guardian cycle to the soul.”

“That’s the end of my turn.”

“To stop my skills from activating you ended your turn with Cocoa still standing. But still there is no escape. I ride Death Warden Ant Lion.” She turned into a giant ant. “Activating Ant Lion’s skill, soulcharge for 2000 power. Then I call one more Ant Lion. I attack Goddess of the Half Moon with Ant Lion supported by Flyman.”

17000 to 9000

“I guard with Oracle Guardian, Nike.”

“Stealth Millipede boosts my vanguards attack. I check the twin drive.” (no triggers) She run up and pinched Sweetie Belle with her pincers.

“Damage trigger check.” (no trigger)

“That’s the end of my turn.”

“I activate the Goddess of the Half Moon skill to look at the top five cards of my deck.” ‘Still no Full Moon.’

“There’s still no full moon. I hate to tell you but you still haven’t gotten better with that deck.”

“I ride CEO Amaterasu, I use her skill and soulcharge. To check the top card of my deck.” Sweetie Belle set the card on the top of her deck.

“I doesn't matter what you draw. You're still going to lose.”

“I call Amaterasu, with support from Dark Cat, my vanguard attacks. Twin drive check, it a critical trigger. The critical goes to my vanguard and the power goes to Red Eye. (no trigger) Also because I have four or more cards in my hoof she gains 4000 power.” She lit up horn and shot at the ant.

“One (no trigger), two (no trigger).”

“Red Eye attacks with support from by Goddess of the Crescent Moon.” The fox summoned fire and shot them

“Damage trigger check, stand trigger. That’s 5000 power to my vanguard and my rear guard Ant Lion stands up.”

“When his attack hits I soulcharge. Amaterasu attacks with Cocoa’s support.”

16000 to 15000

“I guard with Battler A. Then using his skill to send him to the soul.”

“I end my turn.”

In the dugout.

“All right! She’s at five damage.” said Scootaloo

in the stadium.

“So you giving up on Goddess of the Full Moon and going for Amaterasu megablast. To bad I’m going to stop you before you can. I ride Ant Lion, now I have seven cards in the soul. I activat his skill soulcharge and add 2000 power. That makes eight cards in the soul. I call Evil Armor General, Giraffa.” A giant beetle appeared. “Here it comes it’s time for me to show you the power of Ant Loin’s megablast. None of your rear guard units will be able to stand next turn. Now lets have some fun. I’ll have Evil Armor General attack.”

10000 to 10000

“I intercept with Red Eye.”

10000 to 15000

Giraffa attacked Red Eye.

“Now Ant Lion attacks with support from Millipede and with it’s skill another 4000 power is added to this attack as long as your rear guard is resting. Twin drive check, (no trigger, critical trigger) critical trigger. That 5000 power to my rear guard Ant Lion and plus one critical to my vanguard.” She throw sand at Sweetie Belle. (Both cards no triggers) “This is the end. This next attack is enough to finish you off. With a boost from Flyman, Ant Lion attacks.”

22000 to 10000

“I guard with Nike and Dream Eater.”

22000 to 25000

“That’s the end of my turn.”

In the dugout.

“Sweetie Belle survived, but now…..” said Scootaloo

In the stadium.

“Only your vanguard can attack. You can't activate Amaterasu’s megablast till she hits and I don’t think you can get pass the five cards in my hoof.”

‘She’s right one attack won’t be enough.’

“Just give up already.”

Then she remembered Apple Bloom. ‘We are making it to the finals.’ Sweetie Belle drew her card. ‘And with this I can win.’ “Gentle light breaking the darkness, your smile brings hope to the entire world, I ride Goddess of the Full Moon, Tsukuyomi.”

“She drew the Goddess of the Full Moon now? But you're to late.”

“Counterblast, I draw two cards from my deck and put one card from my hoof into the soul. Then I counterblast once more time. Now it your turn to be worried. I call Goddess of the Half Moon, Battle Sister Chocolat, Lozenge Magus, Oracle Guardian Gemini, and Meteor Break Wizard.”

“She was able to swap out all the rear guard units that couldn’t stand.”

“I attack with Meteor Break Wizard boosted by Gemini and his counterblast adds 3000 power.”

21000 to 10000

“I guard with Sharp Nail Scorpio and Phantom Black.”

21000 to 25000

“I attack with my vanguard boosted by Lozenge Magus. Lozenge’s skill adds 3000 power”

17000 to 10000

“I guard with Scorpio.” ‘I’m safe as long as she doesn’t draw a trigger.’

“Drive trigger, first check (no trigger). Second check, draw trigger. I add 5000 power to my vanguard and draw.” Sweetie Belle flew up in to the air and lit her horn and fired a beam at her.

“How could I lose? But I knew all of your weak points.”

“There is more to vanguard then knowing your opponent.”

“The winner Sweetie Belle. Team Crusaders has won this round.” said the judge

The crowed cheered.

‘We are going to the finals, Apple Bloom.’

In the infirmary.

“Apple Bloom! Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle won their games.” said Applejack

Apple Bloom grabbed her head.

In the stadium.

“Team Brilliant Song easily, won their first two matches.” announced Pinkie Pie

‘The final spot of team Asteroid better be waiting for me. Flip Side!’ thought Noteworthy

“Team Crusaders and Team Brilliant Song both are undefeated. But only one of them will take the top spot of block C.” said Pinkie Pie

Somewhere else.

“I knew they would win 2-0 as well.” said Scootaloo

“We pass the elimination round. But we are going to win are fights so Apple Bloom can rest.” said Sweetie Belle

“Right!”

Nice chapter. I can't wait to read the brillant song's battle with the crusaders. Nice job with using Suri and Coco in this chapter. Good luck with the next 2 chapters.
