AKA Birdman the Brony

Cutie Marks have been an integral part of Equestiran life since before time immemorial. What would happen if suddenly they were all swept away one night. How would Ponies cope without the one thing that has guided them all their lives? Ponies are going to get hurt and the situation is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

Sweetie Belle is going to stick to her new friend Midnight. He may be a bit crazy but nothing like how the Adults are going to get.

You have an interesting opinion about cutie marks. Normally, gaining cutie mark doesn't mean gaining the talent. It only means that the pony realized what they are good at. Cutie marks are kind of a discerning sign, like a name. And even in your version they wouldn't impair flying or using magic. Even foals without cutie marks can perform those.

That said, the story is still very pleasant and you gained my attention.

3319179 I was thinking more its a psychological thing. They simply believe that their flying and magic won't work properly so QED it doesn't

3319187 That is actually a very good reasoning. If this is the case, then I fear Equestria is in for a famine - this mental block should affect earth ponies too.

its honesly good

Hmm. The story is interesting, I wonder how deeply the cutie marks are going to be explored. There were some grammar issues and a few misspelled words, but not enough to detract too much fro the story. I feel like the OC needs a bit more fleshing out, but there's some promise in here. I'll give it a fave to see where the story goes. Thanks for writing,

~SilentBelle

I'm liking where this is going. A concept I don't think I've read about before, to be sure
If you like, I could edit this for you, since I believe it has potential.
Also, I write a blog for the Las Pegasus Tribune every Sunday where I illuminate fanfics that I think deserve more attention, from writers who have yet to make a name for themselves. I'd like to feature this one, but I think the tidy-up I can offer would greatly help you out. Let me know if you're interested

“OH CELESTIA! Diamond Tiara is still glued to that tree!”

lol omg thats to funny thay forgot DT :rainbowlaugh:

3341910 Timberwolfs surely didn't lose their cutie marks, Maybe they are looking for some snack... :trollestia:

It is very creepy how simple breach of a tradition destroys a society. The cutie marks are mere manifestations of the talent, not its root. They appear after the talent is discovered after all. The mental block the ponies are experiencing is truly massive. I think you are drawing from Magical Mystery Cure - the Mane 6 swapped cutie marks, but not the talents and they just couldn't wrap their heads around it.

Subdueing the ponies is a very peaceful way how to deal with riots. I was slightly angry at Twilight when she started moralizing, but she turned out to be reasonable in the end. The only other way how to stop the riots is mass execution of the leaders of one and she certainly wouldn't want to do that.

3464345 I'm not sure that keeping chemical supressents above major population centers is entirely moral. Remeber that those in charge of deployment and manurfacture are a little ....volitile at the momment also, and ltering the chemical formula to somthing a tad more drastic woundn't be too difficult

3468736 Equestria is in the state of emergency bordering with civil war. Martial law could be rightfully deployed. In such situation and in any situation concerning war and fighting in general, the sole term of morality becomes irrelevant. Morality is based on everyday life, you can't apply it to crisis.
