[Slice of Life / OC x OC romance] Mirage is a pony. Sort of, mostly. Yet she also carries the Swarm's perfection. Everything is fine. At least, until she falls in love. Nothing out of control though, right?
Love story, with main focus on the OC and her slight philsophical and moral dilemmas as a hybrid between ponies and Changelings. Before you leave though, this is not a "I was Changeling all along" story. There are enough of those already. In case you've read some of my other works, mostly SatN, this shares the universe.

So, this is that idea, which I've been hogging for nine months now. If anybody wants to dispute that Mirage is at least an original concept, I'd reply that I was most likely first. She just had to be carried out well. Oh, the puns. Since there are going to be loads of questions here, let's answer some of them ahead of time.
1. Mirage was created off of a pony mother and a Changeling father. Some time before her birth, Chrysalis came to Equestria's rulers to end a pointless conflict before it could begin. Since then, the two empires have merged and lived in harmony. Yes this is sort of just a huge statement to make, but it's better than explaining it in detail.
2. I love playing with words. If you know all of my stuff, you might find a hidden meaning in all this text. Probably not, though. You sort of do need to know my stuff pretty well and have the combination ability of a paranoid. Either way, just about the time when Mirage was first conceived (the puns are literally painful...) Twilight Sparkle found somepony with whom she had a daughter. I wonder what might have happened to her since then. Constants and variables, people.
3. Italic text is the thoughts of that which is Mirage, while red italics are Shimmer, in case you haven't noticed. I'm surprised to see the formatting turn out rather well. Perhaps the hive mind will grant her additional support later on.
4. Yes, the Mane 6 are probably going to appear as appropriate, though it is a story focused on Mirage's inner conflict and the romance between her and Daylight. Why do I even bother with this, no one is going to read it either way. Being a romance which features the Mane 6 and OCs is a bit of a stroke of bad coincidences. Hence why I didn't tag Twilight Sparkle or Changelings, despite the technically true part of it.
5. Before you ask, this will become a midlength story. I'm thinking 20-40k. Well, the last time that happened, I ended up with a story which is statistically longer than 80% of the whole Harry Potter series, but it's the thought that counts. I do know its themes and ending already, but I haven't exactly decided on pacing yet. I doubt that it'll be the SatN model of two chapters per day for a story spanning multiple weeks, yet I fear going too fast. We shall see.
