:rainbowkiss: SO AWESOME.

It's like you took my childhood and made it 20% cooler.

Kaiba seems kinda out of character. But other then that it was a good read.

YUUUUUUUUUUUUGIO IO IO IO

It seems like you could use more detail in some things. Like a little more poetic writing. Otherwise it's awesome and cheesy and I love it.

aww...fluttershy lost.

anyway, so far, i like the deck choices for the ponies.

Just a little notice. It might take a little while longer for the rest of the story. Chapters 1-5 were actually already done before, I was just making some minor adjustment and changes before uploading them.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading about ponies playing children's card games.

ehh syncros aren't untill 5D's:twilightsheepish:
but still this is awsome

this keeps on geting better and better

Being the fact that this is an alternate dimension from the Yugioh universe, I thought it wouldn't really matter. Even then, Yugi "HAS" seen a synchro summon before, he just didn't learn how to perform the summon.

Come on, man, don't take out applejack before we get to actually see her duel. It's fine if one or two of the mane characters actually get defeated, but you should at least let us see the duels in which they do so.

First: WHY FLUTTERSHY WHY?!?:fluttercry::fluttercry::fluttercry:
Second: I see what you did there. The villains (that are actually from the show) are Trixie, who is more closely connected to Twilight than she is to any other member of the mane six; Gilda, who is more closely connected to Rainbow than she is to any other one of the mane six; and Blueblood, who is more closely related to Rarity than he is to any other member of the mane six. Coincidentally, the only three members of the mane six remaining are Twilight, Rainbow, and Rarity. You don't have to tell me if I'm right here, but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that Fluttershy was the last member of the mane six to be defeated and that none of the others are (unless the one who defeats them is the leader of the villains (I almost said violins:rainbowkiss:)); Twilight is going to be the one to beat Trixie once and for all, Rainbow is going to defeat Gilda once and for all, and Rarity is going to defeat Blueblood once and for all.
Third: What happened to Kaiba? He seems to have just vanished after the duel with Trixie.

Maybe I'll add an extra chapter that explains what happened...

Ehhh, nice theory but it goes deeper then that. If I did something simple like that, it wouldn't be much of a story so I thought of a "better" way to play off that. There is someone else who made a Yugioh story but all it was was ponies playing card games with virtually no story so I aimed to make a Yugioh crossover with a more in-depth story like that of the Marik Saga. This story is only 1/3 done with another 10 chapters to go. I guarentee you will like the outcome.

As for Kaiba. To be honest, he doesn't have that big of a role in this story. He does have one more major duel in a later chapter and gets more involved but right now he is kind of just there. As for where he has been. All will be revealed next chapter which is almost complete.

13079
Any chance I could get a link to the other Yu-Gi-Oh story? To be honest, when I saw yours the first thing i hoped for wa that it was going to be a more simple deal just showing how the ponies go about playing the game, like a similar fic I read last week where they discover the Xbox and show their many different styles of playing the different games. Not that your fic is bad; I still plan to follow it through to the end, but I still think it would be nice to read a simpler one.

13117
Its been so long, I have no idea where it is. All I remember was that posted on /fic/ and never posted anywhere else. It was also never finished.

13157
Oh, well okay then. Listen, there is one thing that I have to say has been bugging me quite a bit about this story: you took out AJ and Pinkie before even showing what their personal decks and playing styles were. Couldn't you have waited just a little longer before making it all sad and intense? Maybe have a duel between the ponies in which they aren't specifically dueling for their lives, a non-shadow game? I know there's the whole thing where they don't get their personal decks or duel discs until entering the shadow games, but maybe you could change it and have where Yugi somehow uses the Millennium Puzzle to search their minds and create their personal duel discs and decks. Let them actually have some fun playing the game before they have to fight for their lives. If nothing else, maybe you could have where all of them get their personal duel discs and decks at the same time as Twilight and by the power of the same shadow game, and then have where they have a few practice duels against each other to prepare for when the villains come back. It's just no fun having them go straight to the shadow games and immediately dropping like flies.

13217
Ehhhh, I wouldn't worry about that... You are saying that they are being defeated to fast. Remeber that there are still quite a few chapters left. There is more to this that hasn't been revealed yet. This story goes much deeper than just winning a few duels. This part will become relevent next chapter.

I also said that I was going to make an extra chapter for Applejack to show what happened in Chapter 2. As for Pinkie... Just wait and see.

13247
Okay, but when you get to the part with AJ's duel, part of me is worried it just won't be as exciting since from the very beginning we'll be fully aware of the fact that she's going to lose. I guess I'll just wait and see.

Also, one thing that was less of a letdown and more of a facepalm moment for me was Dash's duel. You see, my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh deck of all time, the one that I've used for years and become surprisingly good at using despite its seemingly weak cards, is the Cloudian deck. When I saw that Rainbow, who lives to fly, loves resting on clouds, and even lives in a house made of clouds, was dueling, I had my fingers crossed practically begging "come on Cloudians, come onnnn." The when she played Sanctuary in the Sky I was getting really excited, but then she revealed that her deck, while still a fairy deck, wasn't a Cloudian deck. So close but no cigar:rainbowhuh:.

13263
Cloudians... Hmm... Too be honest, I've never heard of Cloudians. I may be a good duelist but there are still archtypes I've even heard of. All the ones I know of are popular archtypes like those blasted Blackwings. There is still a chance though. I don't write the duels until priror starting the chapter the duel is in and in the show, I've seen characters use more then 1 archtype in a deck before.

As for me, I have 2 decks. A Cyber Dragon deck and an Elemental Hero deck. I'm also working on a Unicorn Synchro Deck.

13268
The Cloudian deck is a powerful shield deck, because a majority of the monsters are Water-attribute Fairies that can't be destroyed in battle, so Spirit Barrier and Sanctuary in the Sky help turn it into a shield strategy rendering all of your opponent's attacks useless. They have a common weakness that, while they can't be destroyed in battle, if they are in face-up defense position they destroy themselves. The strongest one of them is an Aqua-type Wind monster, Cloudian-Eye of the Typhoon: 3000 ATK/1000 DEF; it can't be destroyed in battle, it destroys itself when in face-up defense mode, and when it declares an attack it changes the battle positions of all face-up non-Cloudians on the field.
A majority of the deck's strategy revolves around Fog Counters. The spell card Cloudian Squall puts one fog counter on every face-up monster during each of your standby phases. Diamond-Dust Cyclone destroys one monster with 4+ Fog Counters and lets you draw a card for every 4 counters. Cloudian-Ghost Fog has 0 ATK, but neither player takes battle damage when it battles, and when it's destroyed it lets you spread fog counters over monsters on the field equal to the level of the monster that destroyed Ghost Fog. Cloudian-Nimbuman gains 500 ATK for every Fog Counter on the field, starting with 1000 ATK, and he gains a fog counter for every Water monster tributed to summon him. Cloudian-Acid Cloud and Cloudian-Cirrostratus are very similar; when summoned, they gain one fog counter for every face-up Cloudian on the field, and then you can remove two fog counters from them to destroy one card on the field; Acid Cloud destroys Spells and Traps, while Cirrostratus destroys monsters. Also, Cloudian Turbulence is handy for swarming the field, because you can remove a fog counter from it to summon a Cloudian-Smoke Ball from you deck or either player's graveyard. Cloudian-Smoke Ball is the only normal monster in the deck, and its low stats make it pretty useless in the eyes of most duelists, but it is essential for a good Cloudian swarm combo.
The strongest combo in the deck focuses on the trap card Updraft: it removes all fog counters from the field and hits your opponent with 300 points of damage for each; I've done as much as 9,300 damage in one shot using that card. I just stall with my Cloudian shield combo and stockpile fog counters until I can unleash the perfect storm on my opponent.

After posting that last comment, I actually went an watched the episode of GX where Adrian battles Chazz. Pretty much everything you described was used in that battle. I can definitly use Cloudians in a future Rainbow Duel but I am still going to have her run Fairys as well. She never got the chance to summon the big guns of the Fairy Archtype like Master Hyperion and Archlord Krystia. Heck, I want her to have Rainbow Dragon but thats impossible without a pure crystal deck.

13327
Another very useful monster card in a Cloudian deck is Athena. She has 2700 ATK, and has two effects that can work together to deal a lot of effect damage. Whenever a Fairy is summoned to the field, Athena deals 600 points of damage to your opponent; also, once per turn you can tribute one of your other Fairies in order to special summon another Fairy from your graveyard, so even if you don't have a Fairy to normal summon during that turn to use Athena's first effect, you'll still be able to use it by simply tributing one of your other Fairies.
Also, a card that I don't think was in the anime but is very useful is Cloudian-Storm Dragon. It's a Fairy with 1000 ATK; it can't be normal summoned or set; it can only be special summoned by removing one of your Cloudian monsters in the graveyard from play; it can't be destroyed in battle; if it's in face up defense position it destroys itself, and once a turn it can put a fog counter on one monster on the field.

PS: Also, as I mentioned before, all the Cloudians except Ghost Fog, Eye of the Typhoon, and Poison Cloud are Fairies, so either way it's still a fairy deck overall.

Anime is for faggots, rated down. :trollestia:

if i had given rainbow dash a yugioh deck i would have given her a Cloudian deck. but fairys work to...

14459
As I mentioned in an above comment, I didn't even know Cloudians existed until just recently. I'll probably give her some the next time she duels.

Let's decide the fate of the world with a children's card game!

14447 and youre reading this why? for a brony, you sure arent acting like one.

14741
I'm pretty sure he just be paraspritin'

I've got two guesses for what Rarity's deck is going to be. First guess: Gemknights; I know almost nothing about them except that they're a lot like a fusion of E-Heroes and Crystal Beasts. Second guess: Crystal Beasts. :raritywink:
Also, since earlier you hinted that Pinkie may in fact somehow come back for a duel later, I think I'll go ahead and guess at her deck. First guess: Jester cards; unlikely, because there are so few of them, but throw in a few misc. cards with "clown" in their name and it could potentially end up working. Second guess (although I'm almost afraid of what would happen if this was the case): Toon World; Pinkie Pie leading an army of Toon monsters... that would be both hilarious and absolutely terrifying at the same time.:pinkiehappy:

Maybe you should include Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon in a future episode where they battle both Yugi and Kaiba in a Duel.

I know what decks they would use.

I think their decks would be based on the amount of hatred those two fillies have against all blank flanks. But what if that hatred turned into unimaginable power given to Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon? Like power used by the antagonists in the Yu-Gi-Oh! series. I'm talking about The Wicked Gods, The Orichalcos, and the Sacred Beasts. And the Meklords.

For Diamond Tiara: Her deck would be based on the immense Orichalcos cards. and then using the Seal of Orichalcos to summon the monster "The Great Leviathan" with 5000 ATK and DEF. And she would also have Meklord cards.

For Silver Spoon: Her Deck would be based on Arcana Force monsters with Orichalcos cards and then Tributing Orichalcos Shunuros, Orichalcos Dexia, and Orichalcos Aristeros to Dark Synchro Summon "Divine Serpent".

I'm making these two fillies' decks almost unstoppable.

Spike's Deck should have "Malefic" Monsters, Elemental HEROs, Evil HEROs, Masked HEROs, Destiny HEROs, Vision HEROs, and the powerful Supreme King and Yubel. You should Also Include Neos monsters and....

He should have Earthbound Immortals and the Earthbound Immortal Lord Red Nova(Crimson Devil).

Perhaps Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste (because it looks like Spike in his dreams where he rescues Rarity.).

14476 I would give Rainbow Dash a powerful Fairy-type deck that uses Winged Kuriboh, Winged Kuriboh LV 10, The Ritual monsters Shinato, King of a Higher Plane and Herald of Perfection, And mostly based on The Agents, who are needed to Special Summon Master Hyperion.

14459 ya I think fluttershy should have the fairy deck not dash.

9116 I love the ponies playing children's card games it makes the card games 20% no 100% cooler.

Won't be too much longer until next chapter is up!

I know I promised the next chapter would be up soon but I've been having a bit of trouble. Secret of my Excess put a large dent the chapter's progress. Basically, I'm being forced to rewrite a lot of the chapter to accommodate the episode. You'll see why when you read it.

Alright guys, Chapter 7 is finally done. The uploader is giving me trouble so give me a bit and I'll have it up.

Fillies and Gentlecolt, I am proud to announce the long awaited Chapter 7 has finally been released!

There were alot of complications trying to get this chapter done. I won't go into details but I'm happy to finally be done with it. Hopefully the remaining chapter won't be so difficult.

There is one small problem I've noticed with both of Blueblood's duels. You said Iseris can only be summoned by tributing an Egyptian God and a Dark monster, but in both of Blueblood's duels he had DNA Transplant turning everything into Light monsters. Even though his Ally of Justice in his duel with Fluttershy and his Chimeratech in this duel are cards that are normally Dark, his DNA Transplant would have made them Light and, as such, unqualified to summon Iseris. Other than that, great job and I really hope the next installments don't have as large of a gap between them.

92765 Screw the rules, he's a Prince. :ajsmug:
But, in all seriousness, you're right. Either some explanation is needed, or Blueblood needs to get rid of DNA transplant first.

another thing, when armed dragon lv 5 destroys a monster, you can special summon lv 7 from your hand or deck. also, curse you for sending luna to the shodow realm. even if she couldnt do anything.

92765
92889
Blueblood didn't exactly break the rules. I should have explained this in Chapter 5 but I kinda spaced it off. Iseris can only be summoned with "naturally" dark monsters. This also means you can't use a non-dark even if DNA Transplant is on the field making it dark. I'll go back and add an explanation in Chapter 5.

92902
Thanks for seeing this. I'll go back and edit this.

Alright, chapters 5 and 7 have been updated to fix these recently discovered errors.

Off course how could i not have seen that rarity would get a gem knight deck. XD
im still unhappy about rainbow not geting a cloudian deck.

great chapter I've been waiting for this now can't wait for the next one.
