Ethan has serious problems after being transported into the Everfree Forest by a malevolent force.
In case you didn't notice, this story was cancelled. Not because I lack motivation to write, but because I sucked at writing when I started writing this (back in January 2012) and am not good enough to make anything worthwhile out of it now (I don't believe anyone is that good). As of February 2014 I'm uploading the "lost chapters" for vanity and posterity; consider my hands officially washed.

As for the Poison Joke, 1 - it is indeed that flower, and 2 - he did not run through it.
You know how Poison Joke changes the character's most defining feature to make it act against them? Yeah, that would conflict with quite a few plot points and things so I don't think anyone will fall into any of it any time soon.
PS - if the mystery of his powers is enticing, consider this: he's thinking about this story in past tense, but it's from a certain point IN the story. Have fun figuring that out.

Sorry if this is frustratingly unhelpful, but there are some things the main character can't know yet in his recollection. And having the future main character (doing the narration) just tell the reader all about it would ruin the surprise. Also a lot of plot elements are based around nobody knowing how it happened because why would they?

Actually I'm doing that near the end, probably in the finishing moment of Act 3. But it's not just a rock... and there will still be three more sections of the story after that.
