Spike comes to visit Ember only to hide away in a pile of gold. What he sees afterward will change his relationship with her, and its something Spike would never expect from Ember. its Something that needs to be hidden and what would happen if its something the dragons would laugh at her.

Twilight Sparkle is the alicorn of the stars, and after a period of self-discovery, ancient-goddess-discovery and a minor case of malmanifestation madness, she has finally come to share the night, a city, her ex-villain status and a bed with Luna, the alicorn of the moon.

Things are looking pretty good for her.

The five demigoddesses she created out of spite? Not so much. Celestia and Celestia are a little lost too, and for some unknown, completely mysterious reason, dragons are flooding into Equestria—and they're not acclimating. Someone probably should do something about that.

With the disparate peoples of the world now closer than ever before, thanks in no small part to the efforts of Twilight Sparkle, Princess Celestia decides that it might be time for some more official collaborative efforts together. Unfortunately, trying to get world leaders to agree on something proves more troublesome than she had hoped.

Dragons are good at fighting. Very good at it. Supurb, even.

So why are the dragonlands utter garbage?

This was the question that plagued Princess Ember when she became the Dragonlord. She had already proven her strength and power in the gauntlet of fire. In the end, though, it was Spike who retrieved the Bloodstone Scepter. Spike the clanless, whose form had no power, who worked with ponies of all things...

Something was going to need to change. And one thing Ember knew, Dragons... disliked... change.

(This story takes place after Season 8 of Friendship is Magic)
Fizzlepop Berrytwist, Ember and Pharynx had all been used to using their strength and combat prowess to solve all of their problems, and have begun meeting up with each other on regular occasions to share their experiences. But with the influence of their friends and loved ones, they begin to reflect on what true inner strength really is, how they have influenced each other and what it is that they're really fighting for.

Ember is invited to attend the Galloping Gala to further improve pony and dragon relations. She accepts, but she has a different goal in mind, one involving her and Spike and she's stacked the deck to make sure he will be hers!

But will things go as planned?

This story is a sequel to I Can Count On You

Ember, Lord of all Dragons, has been presented with a problem that has forced her to seek the help of her best and closest friend.

Now that Spike has arrived all she needs to tell him is her problem. An ancient law, one that no Dragon Lord can object against, has come into effect.

What's that problem? She is to be bonded with the winner of a special tournament as life-mates.
