This happened after the 2017 MLP movie. Twilight has a nightmare about the Storm King being alive again, Tempest joining him again, and Spike getting killed by her. She wakes up, crying and rushes over to him. Spike comforts her, telling her that there won't be any way of her losing him.

Sunburst feels the need to be included, even when it's outside of his wheelhouse.

And he makes it all Starlight's problem.

After rescuing an incapacitated Twilight Sparkle from the dark clutches of fearsome demons, three warriors of Princess Celestia become close friends with the six Elements of Harmony. During their newfound friendship, they uncover dangerous and fateful secrets about everything they once knew about the Elements of Harmony.

Twilight Sparkle is receiving a newly appointed group of guards to Ponyville after her peers realize just how many dangerous ponies she’s taken in. She’s surprised when she discovers that the Captain of this new guard is none other than Flash Sentry, who she still has a crush on, and wants to explore a relationship with.

Alas, to her disappointment, Flash Sentry is only interested in learning about Friendship, because once he graduates he can retire and live a peaceful life.

Will Twilight be able to capture the heart of her guard? Or will the princess of Friendship remain in the friend zone?

Sci-Twi was thought to not have any friends when she was young. Everyone knew she was a shy bookworm, more obsessed with studies than social outings. Though she is getting better after the Friendship Games and Camp Everfree, with the Rainbooms as her friends

But that is far from the truth. She did have friends but not like the Rainbooms. And the four of them have transferred over, leading to a tearful reunion.

With her old friends back, she begins to spend more time with them than the Rainbooms, leaving the band feeling jealous of them and their friendship with Twilight, making them believe that they are under the influence of Equestrian Magic and using it against her

But is that just envy talking?

But one night, everything changed.

After a series of unexpected events, Eric is suddenly transported into Equestria and mutated into a unicorn by a mysterious genetic sample. Discovered by Twilight Sparkle and her friends, Eric struggles to adapt to his new form, while also trying to uncover a plot that could destroy both humans and ponies alike, and put the whole Universe in danger...

Takes place a short time after the movie, and is canon up to that point. The events of Equestria Girls did not happen during this timeline.

Many years later in the far of land of Equestria, one unicorn named Fizzlepop Berrytwist now lay permanently deformed after a horrible attack from a Ursa Major. Seeking her honor and restoration, this young Unicorn set forth on discovering a spell or magic powerful enough to restore her lost horn. Find out how these two creatures meet and soon unleash their wrath and destruction upon the world via the powerful Staff of Sacanas.

What if you had the opportunity to go to Equestria and realized, too late, that it wasn't what you dreamed of? That it was nothing more than an elaborate illusion? I have learned just what Equestria truly is.
