What Twilight Sparkle remembers after the last few hours is that celebration and live show where Songbird Serenade was performing on stage. Before that even happened, the big fiasco between Twilight and her friends and the Storm King was an epic battle. It ended up with that monster turning to stone and shattering to pieces after he hit the ground. Twilight thought she was going to lose her new friend, Tempest Shadow, who turned to stone as sacrifice for her. All thanks to that reformed hornless unicorn, Canterlot's usual design has been restored. Twilight was exhausted after that big adventure and that huge music show. She was glad that it was all over. After the show, everypony cleaned everything up and hit the hay. The small purple alicorn princess was all snuggled up in her bed, safe and sound.
After the next few hours, she didn't feel like she was in bed anymore. No blankets were on top of her. She heard the sound of rocks falling to the ground, causing an echo to make a sound wave. She opened her eyes, but what she saw was pitch black darkness. She lit her horn up, seeing that she was surrounded by rock walls. "Hello?", she called out. No response. It was super quiet. She didn't know what to do, but call for somepony to tell her where she is. "Is there anypony else in here?"
"Why yes there is.", a deep, creepy voice said.
Twilight's ears perked up and turned around to see the Storm King, who is alive again, walking toward her. Her jaw dropped. How is this possible? How can the Storm King be resembled if he was shattered as a stone statue? "Storm King?", she asked, hoping that the monster would be a ghost. "Is that really you?"
"Yes, Princess, it is me.", the king answered.
Twilight's heart raced and she was breathing hard, feeling shocked and confused. "How are... Am I... I don't unders- How did...", she stammered. She then shouted, "You're supposed to be dead!"
"You're correct, I was dead.", the Storm King taunted. "But, now I'm alive again."
"But, you turned to stone and then you shattered!", Twilight shouted. "How were you able to come back?!"
"Oh, it's all thanks to her.", the Storm King said, revealing Tempest, who was standing by him.
"How are you doing, Twilight?", Tempest asked with an evil smirk grin.
Twilight was shocked and terrified. "Tempest, why?", she asked, as her hooves shook in fear. "Don't you remember what he did to you? You thought he would restore your horn after you got him all the alicorn magic that he needed. He told you he used you. I saved you from him and made you learn the magic of friendship. I thought you embraced it!"
"His voice appeared in my head, telling me that you've actually been lying to me!", Tempest snapped.
"WHAT?!", Twilight asked, shockingly.
"You didn't want me to learn the power of friendship, you wanted one of the princesses to throw me in a dungeon!", Tempest snarled.
"Well, what ever he's saying, he's still lying to you!", Twilight shouted. "Get that in your head!"
"Don't listen to her, my sweet.", the Storm King cooed. "Your head has been filled enough."
"What are you two going to do to me?", Twilight asked, terrified.
"We aren't going to do anything to you yet.", the Storm King said. "We wanted you to have a front row seat to see the death of one of your friends." He revealed a huge restraining board with a huge blanket over it, it's edges tied to the corners of the board, a huge oval in the center.
"Who did you capture?", Twilight asked, wanting to know whoever is under that blanket. "Is it Celestia? Luna? If it's Celestia or Luna, I swear, I'll kill you both!"
"It's none of those.", the Storm King said, removing the blanket and revealing Spike, Twilight's assistant, with his limbs in the cuffs.
"TWILIGHT!", the dragon screamed.
Twilight gasped. She made a glare and breathed slowly, allowing her anger to go high. "YOU MONSTERS, I'LL KILL YOU BOTH!", she shouted, rushing up. All of a sudden, she was stopped by bumping into something she didn't notice. "What in the wide world of Equestria?" She looked down at her hooves, seeing that there was a glowing white circle, it was an invisible force field. "Oh no."
"Looks like you're already too late to save him.", the Storm King taunted. "Lets finish this."
"NO!", Twilight screamed, trying to protest the kill. "DON'T HURT HIM, I'LL DO ANYTHING!"
"Didn't you hear me?", the Storm King asked. "TOO LATE! FIFTEEN YEARS TOO LATE!" He aimed the tip of his staff and fired at the baby dragon, making an explosion.
In a flash, Twilight sprung her head up from her pillow in her bedroom in Canterlot. Her heart was beating fast, tears were forming in her eyes. She dashed out of her bed and raced over to Spike's bed to hug the little dragon.
"Whoa.", Spike said in surprise.
"Oh, Spike!", Twilight cried, squeezing the dragon a little tighter.
"Twilight, what's wrong?", he asked, trying to pull away from Twilight's grip.
"Oh, Spike, it was horrible!", Twilight whaled, preventing Spike from escaping her tight hug. "The Storm King was alive again, Tempest joined him again, and they killed you."
Spike gasped. He felt Twilight loosen the hug and finally broke free. He looked into Twilight's eyes. "Where were you when that happened?", he asked.
"I don't know, I was surrounded by stone walls.", Twilight answered.
"How did Tempest bring the Storm King back to life?", Spike asked.
"I don't know.", Twilight said. "I wouldn't assume she brought him back with magic, because she doesn't have a horn. Spike, I don't want to see you get hurt by a monster who wants to take over Equestria. I can't lose you." She hugged Spike again and buried her face in his shoulder while crying.
"Shhhhh.", Spike hushed. "It's ok, Twilight." He patted her on the back. "The Storm King was turned to stone and I'm sure he's not going to come back, all thanks to Tempest."
"You're right.", Twilight said, calming down. "And Tempest did embrace the magic of friendship, didn't she?"
"Yeah, she sure did, after what the Storm King did to her.", Spike said. He brought Twilight's face up to look at him. "Twilight, you don't have to worry about me getting hurt when we're in a battle. Even if we are, I'll always stick by you. Always."
Twilight pulled Spike close and wrapped him up in another embrace. "I'm glad you'll still be with me when we go through danger.", she said.
"I'm glad to,... sis.", Spike said, making Twilight gasp slightly.
Twilight smiled warmly. "I love you, Spike.", she crooned.
"I love you too.", Spike said, stroking the princess's back. "Never get separated again."
