As Little Mac tries to choose a bedtime story for his mother to read to him and his sister, he asks why none of the old legends have earth pony heroes. His mother has a good answer for him, but she dredges up some old memories, too. Ones that Little Mac wishes she would share.

Immediately following the events of Appletheosis, Applejack must relearn her place in the world as the new Princess Mara of Equestria. Meanwhile, her family and friends have their own troubles with the changes. Through it all, little Merry May, first in the service of her goddess, tries to hold things together and keep everypony sane and happy.

I won't tell you what to do, (this time) but reading Appletheosis first is highly recommended. The Shadow of the Goddess also provides useful background and will become very relevant in later chapters.

Fluttershy now believes it is time to reveal her true feelings. Will help from a dear friend and a well placed plan win her heart's desire?

Trixie's life has been pretty good in Ponyville, new friends, stunt off competitions with Rainbow Dash, a relationship with the big red strong work stallion. Things are looking up; but when Big Macintosh leaves the farm with a mysterious mare, Trixie vows to get to the bottom of it. With Pinkie Pie by her side Trixie will find her answers!

For Ponyville's premier nurse, life is anything but slow - a full-time job, a budding relationship with Big Macintosh, and her own friends and family often leave Redheart's hooves full, and it's all she can do to catch a break.

It's a tough job, but somepony's gotta do it.

To really get a grasp on what’s going on you should give both of those a read in the right order. You can skip them if you'd like but... Oh boy, will you have questions.
