Just as earth ponies, pegasi, and unicorns have mastered their special magic, tragedy strikes at the Crystal Bright House. The Unity Crystal has been stolen by a mysterious dark alicorn! The magic of Equestria is resilient, and ponies still have access to their magic for now, but that may be the least of their concerns. What most concerns Sunny Starscout and friends, is what exactly this mysterious alicorn plans on doing with the Unity Crystal. Can Sunny Starscout, Hitch Trailblazer, Izzy Moonbow, Zipp Storm, and Pipp Petals bring the evil alicorn Opaline to justice before the worst comes to fruition?

After the events of “My Little Pony: Make Your Mark,” Maretime Bay has become the center for all pony tribes to mingle and befriend one another. Under the watchful gaze of Sunny Starscout and her friends, Equestria is slowly transitioning back to the unified society it used to be.

But when Zipp starts getting crazy ideas in her head about bringing Wonderbolts back, Sunny vows to make her friend’s dreams a reality no matter the cost. Pouring through every book in the brighthouse that she can find, Sunny and Zipp discover an old history book forgotten by scholars detailing the history of the acclaimed aerial stunt performers. Knowing that there is a group of Wonderbolt fanatics in the local Elementary School, Sunny resolves to get Zipp a job there as the new athletics coach.

As Sunny and Zipp attempt to train the students to become the next iteration of the Wonderbolts in only a week, the fillies may prove to be more difficult to teach than they initially imagined. Nonetheless, Sunny is determined to fulfill her promise to Zipp, proving beyond any doubt that the magic of friendship is still a powerful force in Equestria….

Zipp and Izzy alike have felt a strange connection, a new feeling that no pony has ever made them feel before. Could it be that they have fallen in love with each other? Do their hearts beat like this for each other because of destiny? Read and find out for yourself.

Even with Opaline defeated and peace restored to Equestria, Zipp is still curious about Princess Twilight's plans for the unity crystals and the Dragon Stone. Naturally, she decides to investigate, and she convinces Sunny to help her do it.

With permission from Spike, Zipp and Sunny take the Dragon Stone back to Maretime Bay. There, they discover that Princess Twilight also managed to record a message inside of the stone, a message clearly intended for Spike.

Armed with this knowledge, the two mares prepare to return to the Isle of Scaly in order to share their discovery with Spike. But how will he react to hearing Twilight's voice again after so long?

This story is a slightly edited copy of my entry to the Expanding Universes #4 contest, which means it is an expansion of this story by applezombi. I'd recommend reading that one first, but it's not strictly necessary.

It's a slow day for everypony. While Sunny, Izzy, and Zipp all decide to take a nap, Pipp gets a new idea for online content and even gets Hitch to play along.
