While packing up the props she had recently used for a magic show that did not go as she had originally planned, Trixie Lullamoon encounters a boy around her age who seems rather odd and mysterious, even though he looks like an ordinary high school student like she is.

Not only is he carrying his pet cat inside his duffel bag wherever he goes, but he is also able to have an actual conversation with this cat, despite not having a magical geode like the one that Fluttershy uses to talk to her animal friends.

While she initially sees this man as the key to learning how to do real magic, he ends up helping her in a completely different way.

Ren Amamiya/Joker and Morgana/Mona are both characters from Persona 5, a role-playing video game developed by P-Studio and published by Atlus, which is a subsidiary of Sega.

In terms of Equestria Girls continuity, the story is set right after the animated short, Street Magic with Trixie.

In terms of Persona continuity, it takes place approximately six months after the events of Persona 5 Royal.

Equestria has heroes that take care of obvious evils and villains, but what will happen when the evil is subtle and almost invisible. Somepony has to stand up for the defenseless ponies suffering from unfair treatment, blackmail, and worse crimes. Apple Bloom normally wouldn't think a single thought about that kind of evil, until she's given a chance to correct it. Will she refuse it and turn a blind eye to injustice, or will she and her friends stand up and fight for the sake of others. All she has to do is rip off that mask and create a new brand of heroes.

When Sunset Shimmer's nascent revolution falls apart and she flees Equestria via portal, she finds herself in 21st century Tokyo, where an aspiring dictator puts her where he puts all his problematic teenagers: Shujin Academy.

But Sunset still can't abide tyrants, and she's about to find out she's not alone.

Content Warnings: I'm trying to keep the themes and level of description of them consistent with Persona 5. That means violence, mentions of sex and sexual abuse (but no description thereof), talk of suicide/self harm, and supernatural mental illness.

Being convicted of a crime she did not commit, Sunset Shimmer finds herself living with a family friend in Canterlot. Having to go through a year-long probation, she suddenly finds herself on a new path. When those with wicked desires cause trouble in her new home, Sunset and her new friends must dedicate themselves to putting a stop to the deception and hypocrisy all around them.
