The lights dim, the stage is set, the ponies are ready! Hilarity, hijinks, and loads of playing around ensue when the Mane 6, Spike, the CMC, Princess Celestia, Dr. and Derpy Whooves, some fun background characters, and a few OCs get tangled up in a crazy theatre show!

Be warned, there's lots of crude humor, cloppiness, and general rambunctiousness! Haters gonna hate, but the show must go on!

Princess Luna, Trixie, a host of background ponies and an unlucky Braeburn come together on a roller coaster of a journey that will take them across Equestria and maybe in the process find friendship.

Luna creates her own elements of harmony in a misguided bid to make friends, but her choice of Trixie as her version of twilight leads to problems since she has no friends either, prompting Luna to send her on an adventure to find the other 'elements' but its not long before Trixie and her companions find themselves on the wrong side of the law and on the run.

Can they get over their differences and come together in the name of friendship or will the attempt be the end of harmony in Equestria?

Twilight has a dark secret: she isn't satisfied with her current lot in life. Yes, she does have amazing friends that have stood by her through thick and thin, yes, she does have a supportive and kind family, and she is the student of Princess Celestia herself. But she can't shake off the feeling that she is missing out on life.

How many other sights are there to be seen, how many ponies are there to meet, how many challenges will she never face by being in Ponyville, by being Twilight Sparkle?

One day she has finally had enough and fueled by a several months long rut and scientific curiosity she decides to go through with the most insane plan imaginable in order to put her doubts to rest.

After each Princess’ castle is bombed by creatures from another world, the remaining five Elements of Harmony are sentenced to die within 5 different video game worlds. Within Equestria, the mainland is taken over and used as levels and cities for other video games. Will Button Mash and the remaining background ponies band together and save Equestria? Or will they die along with their heroes, under the might of the Doomsday Arcade?

Wallflower Blush has just read Background Pony, and she thinks it's the best thing she's ever read.

Inspired, she writes something of her own for the first time.

Ponyville is filled with ponies who know their place and have clear and bright futures, but that is not true for all. Zephyr Breeze, Marble Pie and Snips are all ponies whose lives are far from what they wished they were; filed with unsatisfied desires and lingering worries. They remain in the background of Equestrian life until a mysterious Unicorn offers them the ability to become what they could never be on their own and sets them loose to confront all the pain, anger and fear that secretly surrounds their hearts. Everything inside them comes boiling to the surface as they use their newfound power to make sure that the world finally sees them.

Years before the events of Winning Pony: Road Not Taken, Sparkler didn’t know her big sister. She didn’t have one.

For as long as she could remember, Sparkler had been in a foster home, under the care of Equestria’s Foal Services. It hadn’t been perfect, but life had been pretty good while she waited for somepony to adopt her.

Thirteen years is a long time to wait, though, and she had all but given up on ever leaving. Given up, until she found everything she knew suddenly and violently pulled out from under her. Hurt, scared, and alone, she’s found herself in a sea of new faces. Some help, some smile, most just fade into the background.

None of them seem interested in her, though. Not enough to take her home.

Twilight Sparkle hold a terrible secret! She is a changeling and can never reveal it to anyone. Pinkie Pie also hold a terrible secret! She is also a changeling and can never reveal it to anyone. Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Fluttershy all hold a terrible secret! Which is... actually the same secret. All of the background ponies hide their terrible secret, which is also the same one. Celestia XXIII can never reveal to her subjects that she is truly a changeling queen!

Everyone is convinced that everyone else would never accept their true nature and no one ever suspect the truth: Equestria is the land of friendship and love! Friendship is the big gimmick of ponies! Surely that means that everyone else are ponies and they're alone as deep cover changelings, right? Of course, no one realized that the last full-blooded pony truly died of old age centuries ago, the hive having effectively replaced ponykind. But well, they can't take chances! No way their fellow ponies, who are truly changelings (but they don't know that), would ever accept them as who they are truly (which they'd totally do), right?

Episodic, non-chronological scene format. Mostly meant to be comedic ; serious story arcs will be identified as such and thus, separated from the main scene collection.

This is a tale about those on the outside. Not everypony can see beyond their own little world. For the few that are outside of that world, they are the outcasts. This is the story of them, those who are there but never acknowledged. Those who you see every day but only acknowledge just to make fun of them. There is a heart in everypony, now you to will see the heart of the outcast.

I hope you will all enjoy this story of how our favorite background pony came to be.
