On Hearth's Warming Eve, Canterlot is the place to be. Lots of ponies flood the city, either to look for that perfect gift, or spend time with family. Some of the background ponies are there, and all of them have their own reasons. Vinyl is searching for a special gift for a certain cellist, Lyra is going to try her hoof at cooking while a candy maker is out, Minuette is praying that no pony finds out what she bought for a wine enthusiast, and Symphony is simply pulling her mane trying to find a gift that sends the right message.
More of a collection of very short stories than an actual big one, in celebration for the upcoming holiday.

This story is a sequel to Following Through

All I want is a quiet Christmas with my family, followed by a beach vacation with my friends. But even in this quiet Florida town, I can’t escape a place called Equestria, a fantastic world I visited against my will twice before. There’s something strange happening here, a malicious magic in this world which is supposed to be free of magic, and we’re the only humans that can do anything about it.

At least we won’t be forced to go back to Equestria this time. The problem is on Earth, so the ponies are coming here. Now, how are we going to get these ponies used to their new human bodies in time to stop this crisis?

Follow a dentist, two musicians, a d.j., a candy merchant, a doctor, a mail-mare, and a party goer on various silly adventures and shenanigans around Equestria.

You've had a relatively happy past few days in Equestria, although your memory of your horrible, tragic death back on Earth haunts you, and Twilight stops by your workplace with a piece of happy news. The royals have approved your request for a 'temporary citizenship visa', a little bit of what seems like bureaucratic nonsense but you've gone along with it, and you'll be going off to Canterlot soon. Fleur de Lis, your 'adviser' during this transition, shows you around your new job, your new apartment, and everything else.

Fleur gets rid of your worries and concerns; she shows you you how the princesses sincerely want to help you fit in and set up you up to use your talents in the best way, helping ponies. Yet you feel this aura of sadness that you can't shake. It's not just that you saw your family dying with you back on earth, causing you to wake up screaming. It's that Fleur drills down to you that your wonderful life in Canterlot will be fleeting and that they'll try to bounce you back soon. That horrible clock on your visa counts down-- 325 days remaining before the unique background radiation of Equestria's sun kills you again.

Fleur comforts you however she can. You can't help yourself, and this sweet, tender emotional attraction turns into something more. You've never seen someone this outwardly beautiful with this kind of powerful beauty on the inside.
