Work in the orchard had always brought Applejack joy. Seeing her cherished trees grow and her apples shine never failed to put a smile on her face—even if those smiles have grown a little dull as of late. She never once complained about an honest day's work.

But now, like so many times before, she has to visit the one place that appears dark even in the brightest of days. The place that reminds her of her failure.

This is a vent piece I wrote originally intended to be a kind of suicide note. It also functioned as a way to sooth myself that if I died that night that I wouldn't be trapped in hell for all eternity, or that I wouldn't be turned away from Equestria because I couldn't survive this hell world.

I don't honestly know what I'll do, but I wanted to publish this anyways. I hope this story helps someone.

Spike's plan to get the ponies to trust Thorax was going to work; at least, that's what he thought. It turns out that ponies aren't as easy to accept others as they make it out to be.

Opaline has been defeated, Misty is finally accepted by Maretime Bay, but everything goes downhill when she confesses to kidnapping Sparky. But surely Hitch will forgive her, it's just a silly dragon. Right?

This story is inspired by the recent episode of Tell Your Tale. Watched it and this story popped into my messed up head. lol. Would you forgive somepony if they hurt the one you care about the most? Would your friendship survive? Or will it be destroyed along with all the trust you had? Hitch can never forgive Sunny for what she has done to his son. Sunny may never forgive herself.

Loosely Based on The Fall of Sunset Shimmer

How did Equestria fall? Why did Twilight create the Unity Crystals? Why did the three pony tribes split in the first place after so many years of harmony? It all ties back to that one fatal mistake, the great oversight…the folly of the Princess of Friendship…the fall of her apprentice…the fall of Opaline. Luster Dawn has moved to Ponyville with a new group of friends, leaving Princess Twilight Sparkle alone to rule in her solace. The Council of Friendship have disbanded due the remaining Mane Six having all died in a tragic accident. Closing herself off from the realm she rules, Twilight feels like she no longer has a purpose in life without her friends.

On the fourteenth Festival of the Two Sisters, Twilight is persuaded to take on an apprentice once again and chooses to take on an idealistic, but lonely unicorn mare named Opaline Arcada, who idolizes her. Seeing the opportunity to right what she considers to be her greatest mistake, Twilight takes Opaline under her wing and trains her in the ways of friendship and magic.

However, when a devastating betrayal begins to lead Opaline down a tragic path to darkness, Twilight must make the ultimate sacrifice to save Equestria….
