A preview for another fanfic I'm working on...
I'm writing my final fic on this site before I call it quits. It's a crossover between Gen 4 and my novel, Dragon of Grace. It tackles all sorts of serious and heavy topics: stuff like depression, suicide, religious trauma, post-traumatic stress, childhood sexual abuse, etc. However, unlike many of the fics I've seen surrounding these topics, the story takes a more uplifting turn partway through that encourages healing and the value of close relationships in times of peril. I'm a good ways into
If you answered "me" to the blog title than Nova Quill has got your fix.
Fresh from Sunset/Starlight/Spike have no parents land:
Man, oh man does this piece fill me with emotion, 'cause damn if that isn't a pair of the saddest ponies I've ever seen plus dragon.
Got a couple pieces from different peeps today! Both are a little overdue... Sorry guys. Real life can be a real time sink.
First off a great Wheel and the Butterfly piece by, you guessed it, Nova Quill!
If you're following me, you may already know about the minific collection I curate titled Never The Final Word: stories — both my own and others' — which were originally posted as comments to other fanfics, designed to reinterpret or extend the source story. If you've been curious about the collection, but have been waiting for a good starting point to jump in at, then yesterday it just got doubly easier!
After the horrendous rape story by SoothingCoffee that I've had the absolute displeasure of reading tonight, I've finally put my foot down and deleted my first ever featured story for good. Those of you who favored Chrysalis' Revenge, you might as well get rid of it from your library if you can, because it is finally no more.
Wow...females get treated like garbage a lot in this fandom.
I've been out and about all day, so now was the first chance I had to watch the pre-hiatus finale. I usually don't do post-watch blogs and I wasn't planning on writing one for this episode. That plan's shot to hell now, but for consistency's sake I'll be brief.
This show finally became the badass, character-driven, legitimately dramatic drama that we've all been claiming it was for years. I could not be more stoked that it did.
Bring on the hiatus. I'll stick around.
One YouTube channel I follow is Great Big Story. They do micro documentaries: 2-5 minute videos about various topics, slickly edited and narrated. YouTube recommended one of their videos to me, and I couldn't help but notice some similarities to one of my fics. I suppose Luna would be proud of them?
I have gotten an amazing editor, their name is Word Worthy! He is currently editing TER and helping me make an amazing long + short description! I'm super excited, and the story should hopefully be released in about a week or shorter, due to how long editing takes!
Also, look at this cuteness after the break!
New story in the pipe and it's
Just thought I'd drop a link to StraightToThePointStudio's reading of the first scene of chapter 2 of DayBreak, where Luna and Twilight speak with Care about the attack on Celestia.
A little voice acting, a little ambient music, a little taste of DayBreak from a different perspective. Or medium.
Neither Gallus nor Sandbar expected to die at the age of 18 and 17, but at least it was dying while saving the world. With their lives over, all that they expected was a simple slip into darkness for eternity. Never did they imagine that what awaited them was paradise for their deeds and actions.
Haha, I'm terrible at putting these out on time.
Where to start? This was a fun chapter to write, since like 25, it is wildly different from the draft. A few ideas from the draft made its way into the final version, but the entire flow and structure was re-written from the ground up. For starters, the last 105,000 words were written just an excuse to make my "The Rainbow & Dash room" joke.
SO! My hard drive failed. Isn't that just great? Luckily for me, my friend's dad was able to save my data and transfer it to a different one. So I'm back in business!
I've been doing a let's play of pokemon recently, but I haven't forgotten my in the works fan fics (in fact I've been drawing pics and creating characters for one of them constantly.) So hopefully I'll be able to get the one I plan to submit first going, I had about half of the first chapter done.
So yeah. Mistakes were made. I can't personally verify this code since I already made my purchases on Friday, but if you missed out on that, there's a better deal out there for today. Again, you can go to https://ponyfeatherpublishing.com/ for a list of books to buy.
Osto Vinya nauva ustaina!
Eighth anniversary as a Brony, Seventh as a Let's Player, and my 35th Birthday have all come to pass (I guess technically the anniversary was yesterday but I thought it was today until I looked at my last blog post). I'm still trucking along with my Let's Play's coincidentally being in the middle of an MLP themed game though as of late I've had some delayed uploads due to some real life stuff happening (not including the earthquakes here in Southern California as I was only close enough to
Good evening! Apologies for not getting this up on Saturday. I'm both lazy, forgetful, and knee deep in a fresh playthrough of both Pokemon Blue and BOTW. Two very different titles, huh?
(Not an essay this time, I swear)
Well, school has started for me - virtually. That means I get to stay home and sit at my desk waiting for class to start. That also means I am in a unique position where I can read stories during class and not get caught!
(Don't do that, kids. I don't even do that. It was a joke. I make those. Sometimes. Heh.)
But it might just need to be edited.
Okay A bit late to the party for this one but this...episode..."Royal Problem" opens a whole new world of possibilities and new fanfic Idea....What If Spike gets called for a friendship problem? You decide...and send me the links to the fanfics you created.
