Never The Final Word: Reviews and a reading · 8:49pm Sep 22nd, 2015

If you're following me, you may already know about the minific collection I curate titled Never The Final Word: stories — both my own and others' — which were originally posted as comments to other fanfics, designed to reinterpret or extend the source story. If you've been curious about the collection, but have been waiting for a good starting point to jump in at, then yesterday it just got doubly easier!

First, über-reviewer Present Perfect has now reviewed nearly every chapter — and not only the minifics, but also the source stories they're based on! All his thoughts (except for previously reviewed stories) can be found here in a massive roundup post. (Spoiler: Half of the stories are Recommended or better, and the two HRs might surprise you.) If you're looking for some great quick reads, or contributed to the collection, go see what he thought.

Second, fanfic audioreader Illya Leonov has created a thing of beauty:

(Also available here at Soundcloud)

"Stellar Fire" is one of my Never The Final Word pieces, originally a commentfic for KitsuneRisu's "The Incandescent Brilliance". It's short — a five-minute listen — and while I think it works better if you've read the source story, Incandescent is definitely worth the time as well. I love the gravity Illya gives Stellar Fire here; it really draws the emotions out. :fluttercry:

Hm. I can't find the one for Estellin's This Is My Last Letter/Leaving The Nest. Not that I'm egotistical, or anything. Really. Well, maybe just a touch. My Google-Fu is weak.

Hm, you're right. I can't find them on the review spreadsheet linked from PP's userpage, either. Ask him about it!
