Well. I haven't posted a non-card blog in over a month. Let's remedy that with some good news. Thought Prism, a friend and hoopy frood, is trying to build support for his new original novel. You can see the details on his blog here, including a link to the project. The more votes it gets, the more help the publisher will give him.

So, I pre-read someone else's story: Supermarine_Spitfire's Flurry Time.
Supermarine_Spitfire is no stranger to me. He's one of the few people on Reddit that I talk to on an almost daily basis and is quite active on r/mylittlepony, including the fan fiction side of it (as in, he's a regular participant of the subreddit's regular Writing Snippets threads, for one).
The hits keep coming, and by "hits" I mean desperate cries for help.
In particular, this one's from Moonydusk, an artist who lost their father recently and now has a brother in the hospital with failing kidneys and an uncertain prognosis. This has also left paying rent uncertain, and that's where you come in if you can. There's a PayPal pool here, or you can spread the word further.

I usually don’t do this, because comparatively few people read my blog in the first place, so the impact of this is going to be disappointing. But there are times when you see a story well exceeding the levels of quality you see in the feature box, but still languishing in near-complete obscurity, and go “huh, maybe even the level of exposure I can provide will matter.” It’s one of those times.
