Sexiest admin forgot that contributors can't delete from the incoming folder.
Just reply to this comment with the title(s) of rejected/sorted stories and I (and any other admin) will take care of it. No need to give a reason, this isn't a delicate system. Your judgement is trusted (plus the admins might look at rejected stories and change the final decision anyway).
Interesting note: Since stories are sorted by their age... if you remember their page number, that'd be great for finding.
Legend of the Pegasarius Verdict: Rejected Reasons: The whole flavor reminded me of Labyrinth, the David Bowie movie, and not in a good way. The narrative just didn't make sense. I know that some books, such as Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and The Princess Bride are meant to be this way. I don't believe it was intentional in this case. It felt like the narrative was constantly fighting with itself.
2550375 I don't expect a full analysis, that's all. If you have a good reason, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to mention it. I just don't want us to lose the joy of reading the dullness of work.
2550436 The main reason I did the analysis, is simply because I could not for the life of describe what it was about the story that seemed wrong. I wanted to make sure I had a reason, and that I wasn't just being "I don't like this, so it must be bad."
Reason: I get this story is 'For Da Lulz' but the punctuation is just... just... bad. As I read through it, I feel as though not much effort was put into the story to refine and polish it. So, I have to say 'no' to this.
2581860 And sorted. Just remember, in the future, you can sort the stories into the proper folders after approving them as a contributor. We just need to know so we can take them out of the incoming folder
I'll also let you give the author the seal of approval
2582762 They can add stories to any folder, as all the folders allow contributors to add to them (and the incoming folder allows everyone to add to it, for obvious reasons), but only the admins and the person who added the story to the folder can remove it from any folder it's been added to, and the admins are the only ones who can move a story from one folder to another (as it's technically a fast way of deleting it from one folder and adding it to another).
2582948 No, not really. The issues come when we, the admins, are slow to respond either because we miss the sorting or the contributors forget to mention it here, which happens. We're only human, after all, and several admins are adminning the busier libraries, leaving less time to help out here.
I think the other issue with sorting speed is we're just a bit slow about it in general (e.g. I'm doing about ten different things at once online, not all having to do with pony, which slows down my own sorting speed, never mind that I simply ignore any stories I know I can't give a fair shake) but I'm not sure what we can do about that.
2583031 trust me, I know. The biggest problem I see right now is that the sorters are focusing too much on newer added stories, which is leaving older ones still waiting in the incoming folder.
I just feel there is a faster way to do this, but I just can't figure it out besides adding more servers.
I have a question: If there is a story that I want to submit (that's not my own), I should still submit it to the incoming folder right?
Obviously I think its good enough to meet the requirments, or else I wouldn't submit it. I don't want to overstep my bounds as a contributer, hence my dilemma. Currently both stories I am wondering about are in the incoming folder (they were there before we locked it, don't worry). I also realize they are not going to get looked at any time soon, since they are both 190,000+ words.
Sorry for giving you more work. That was not my intention. I didn't realize until I saw your post, that I could actually place stories in folders. My bad.
EDIT: All stories I have Approved since then, have been placed in the proper folders, and simply need to be removed from incoming.

Do we allow people to resubmit?

Well, we can't really stop them without locking the folder...

Or hunting them down and- wait, no; we need living members...

You don't have to give reasons, that's a lot of work. This is supposed to be fun!

I understand that you want to be quick, but supplying some sort of reason does help.
