If you're looking for a cute, light-hearted story then I would suggest "Sweetie Belle's Spell" or "Dreams of a Pegasus."

"Sweetie Belle's Spell" is a funny story where Sweetie Belle casts a spell on some of the pets so they can speak and "Dreams of a Pegasus" is an inspirational story where Fluttershy dreams of flying as good as Rainbow and through intense training, is able to beat her in a race.

I can recommend pretty much every story written by Tatsurou. That author truly is a marvel. He writes primarily crossover-type stories in which a prominent character (or characters) from many video game or TV series adopt a foal-aged version of a pony character from MLP, and raise them as their own. He... oh man. He always scratches exactly the itch I need scratched. He's done filly Luna in Undertale, Twilight in Ratchet & Clank, Discord in Elder Scrolls, Moon Dancer in Mother; it just never ends. I personally guarantee that if you love deep, meaningful and well-written fics with incredibly heartwarming writing throughout, you will adore these.

To spare you the trouble of having to pick one, my personal favorite was always The Moon in the Dark. It should cheer you right up! The Sparkle in his Eye comes in a very close second.
