The Great and Powerful Trixie returns to Ponyville, nine months after the events of the Alicorn Amulet, but this time she’s not back for revenge. In fact, Twilight Sparkle barely even registers on her radar. Trixie’s actions while under the influence of the Alicorn Amulet have come back to bite her in the flank.

Sweet Apple Acres is going to be receiving a visitor, and maybe, a little something extra.

Takes place between seasons 4 and 5.

The original idea for this story was… conceived by the great and talented writer Crystal Moose. My Humble and Meager skills were used to finish this story past chapter 5, so please forgive me for mutilating Crystal Moose’s concise prose with my florid non-sense.

Applejack announces to her friends that she and her brother are engaged and are set marry. Her friends are all very happy and supportive of this with the exclusion of Twilight who cannot fathom this atrocity.

What kind of sick pony would marry their own brother?!

Twilight must put a stop to this at any cost.

When Igneous Rock Pie falls and breaks his hoof in the mine, Big Mac decides to go out to the farm and help with the some of the heavy lifting until he gets back on his feet. Not knowing how long he'll end up staying nor what all he'll need to fulfill Igneous Rock's duties, he brings the usual tools and travel gear he normally brings on long trips. He soon finds out however that day to day life on a rock farm is very different from life on an apple orchard

There are not many things that Rainbow Dash can't withstand. She can take on dragons and monsters all day long, but when it comes to the bitter cold she has met her match. In search of shelter from the cold, she ends up spending the night at the Apple's. But with Granny and Bloom in Appleosssa, and Applejack going to Manehatten in attempt to sell some apple goods, she ends up all alone with Big Mac.

What could possibly go wrong?

Some might think that a pony without much to say doesn't have a lot going on in their minds. Those ponies would be wrong. In fact, it's usually the quiet ones that think the most.

Marble Pie thinks a lot. Most of the time, she thinks about rocks, and how scary everything else is.

Big MacIntosh thinks a lot. Most of the time, he thinks about apples, and how complicated everything else is.

Now, throughout the good times and the bad times of Hearth's Warming, they think about each other.

It is no secret that Pinkie Pie really hopes the Pies and Apples are related, as it gives her an excuse to have the Apples all be friends with her family. But even if the genealogical records are in doubt, there are other ways to tell. For instance, two related earth pony families should respond to the earth in similar ways.

The Pies are known for their abilities with rocks. Finding, sculpting, evaluating - if it can be done with rocks, the Pies can do it.

The Apples grow things, none of them rocks. (Notwithstanding the occasional apple that rots into something hard.)

Pinkie Pie feels her hopes deflating. But Maud does not seem worried, even if she can be hard to read sometimes.

When Granny Smith sends Big Mac to visit the Pie homestead, his manner of speech leads to an embarrassing misunderstanding about the nature of his visit. Twilight ran out of bits reacquiring what was lost when Tirek blasted Golden Oak Library. She decided to earn money by working in Sweet Apple Acres, but little did she realize what it is like to have Big Macintosh as a boss.

"Come on!" The girl crossed her arms. "Everybody's got a story. What's yours?"
