It's high summer and Twilight has been feeling overworked. To relax, she reads some poetry under her favourite tree, but it's terribly difficult to unwind when Fluttershy runs past dressed as a rabbit. A White Rabbit.
What is going on? Why is everything so... weird? Is she in a dream? Or are more sinister forces in motion?

Based upon the delightful novels Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, by Lewis Carroll.

Twilight Sparkle's wildest dreams have just been met, and exceeded. Due to an unexpected magical outburst during her entrance exam to Princess Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, the Solar Princess herself took an interest and took Twilight on as her personal student.

This was a pleasant shock for Twilight and her family. However, a few months later, a less pleasant shock would reach Twilight in the form of Celestia returning to Canterlot with a new daughter, a freshly adopted pegasus filly named Rainbow Dash. As the two get to know each other, Twilight can clearly see something eating at the self absorbed and competitive filly's mind.

To make matters even more confusing, Princess Celestia is now hiding something. Twilight dares not question it, but it is quite clear that Celestia isn't being wholly open with anypony about her decision to adopt some random orphan.

Could the answers have something to do with the cryptic dream Twilight had the night before she met Rainbow Dash?

An ancient evil, named Chaos, has returned from an imprisonment older than Equestria. Twilight an her friends must travel to the lands that the three tribes forsook before Hearths Warming Eve in order to obtain the power needed to fight this evil. For this time, the Elements of Harmony will not b enough. Will they succeed? Or is their home doomed to a future seeped in blood and darkness?

It has been fourteen years since Twilight Sparkle first arrived in Ponyville. Life goes on, happy as it always has, even as she and her friends grow older. And there's only one mare she could think of sharing that life with: her wife, Rainbow Dash.

As winter settles in, Rainbow and Twilight are busy making preparations for the 12th birthday of their daughter, Opal Dart, followed in the same week by their 10th anniversary. Chaos and bedlam are the words of the day as they scramble to get everything in order, and ensure a perfect day for their little foal. Unfortunately, it is within this same time that Rainbow Dash has, by necessity, at last been promoted to to the position of Captain of the Wonderbolts. With her dream job finally realized, Dash cannot believe anything could go wrong. She quickly realizes, though, that the stress of her job was not something she was prepared for. As her mood perpetually sours, Twilight finds herself increasingly frustrated at the distance her wife is putting between them. As the couple spiral towards their own destruction, Opal Dart and Spike seek help from anyone they can find.

The only question is if they'll be able to do anything before their relationship is beyond salvaging.

So yeah, cheesy introduction put aside, this is what I've been setting the framework for instead of updating either of the stories I've got running: a prequel to my first ponyfic ever, "Even Rainbows Fade", which I have to come to accept as the most successful thing I will ever write. It shall not be topped. So I figured I might as well write this, both because I love the pair so much, and because I can answer a few questions and address a few issues both some readers and myself had with the original story.

Like I said, it's a prequel, so some knowledge WILL be assumed of you coming in. Hopefully it's easy enough to work out without having to read the first, though. If you have any comments, criticisms, or praise to share, by all means do so! I'll never improve without critique, and I'll be starved for attention if nobody loves me =P

Rated Teen for some moderate violence, and I'm not 100% sure if the Sad tag applies. Far less crushfeels than the original since, y'know, nopony dies.

The Wipe-Outs. To some, heroes. To others, foals in desperate need of a time out, if only there was a prison built that could hold them. Princess Flurry Heart will lead her rag-tag band of misfits against the latest threats menacing Ponyville, the dreaded mud monsters.

A trip to visit her aunt has gone horribly wrong, but Flurry Heart is determined to prove her worth as a princess and save the day. Along the way, they will encounter other superheroes, such as The Bashers, (superhero crossovers are always so fraught with peril) as well as deal with a public that fears them all more than any supervillain.

I've been a friend of Dashie since we were foals. You know, we hung out, competed in some sports every now and again, but as we grew older we started to see less of each other. Sure she's an element weilder now, but that wouldn't make her to busy to hang out with me every now and again, especially with how surprisingly little she talks about it. Maybe we should find the time to chat...

Making money is kind of difficult in Ponyville, what with it being a small town. Luckily, Anon has found she's pretty darn good with kids, and there are plenty of parents who need a foalsitter. So far, nothing at all has gone wrong.
Until, that is, she's left taking care of a Pegasus foal. Nothing works like it should, nothing makes any sense! And it just. Won't. Eat! Hopefully, Rainbow Dash can lend her a hoof before the little darling starves to death.

It never happened.

The Crystal Heart was never brought back to the Crystal Ponies. King Sombra successfully took back the Crystal Empire and declared war on Equestria.

Under powered and unprepared, Equestria is barely a match for Sombra's army. Everypony needed to do their part just for the war to reach a stalemate, but is their a glimmer of hope within the hearts of some?

You know what really grinds the gears of Twilight Sparkle? Whenever she tries to give Rainbow Dash an interesting lecture about something slightly left of the whole 'friendship' field, she ends up talking to no one but herself! Dash keeps falling asleep, as she has again this time.

So what if Twilight tries a style of teaching that's a little bit... different?

Well, I'm sure Rainbow's new boss (and the Foal Free press, for that matter) would have quite a day with another stubborn egghead around.

Twilight has dealt with the likes of Nightmare Moon, Discord, Chrysalis, Sombra, Tirek, and even impending doom by snow storm, but she has never dealt with anything even close to what this was.

A psychological terror so great that even Discord would be brought to his knees. She can only hope that she can get out okay.
