Opaline Arcana has sowed dissent and anger across Equestria. With the nation divided, Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends are struggling to contain the ambitious alicorn. If something isn't done soon, Twilight will have no choice but to store Equestria's magic into the Unity Crystals, putting all of ponykind at risk.

Before that, though, Twilight has an idea. There's a prisoner locked away in Tartarus that was forgotten by history. He might be just what they need to stop Opaline. However, letting him loose could spell disaster for Equestria.

It's a risk she has to take.

In simplest terms, Ascellal Regression is a rarely observed phenomenon where young pegasi show a distinct aptitude for flight from a very early age, but become less capable as they near adolescence. Not much is known about the condition, rare as it is, since fewer than one in one-hundred-thousand pegasi show signs of it. For the symptoms to be displayed by an alicorn is totally unheard of. And yet, fate persists.

Princess Flurry Heart, with gentle nurturing from her mother, came to reluctantly accept her lot in life. With occasional mood swings and fashion choices to vent her frustrations. Luckily, her father has his own ideas for overcoming the situation. Whether or not these ideas hold any merit, that remains to be seen.

My entry for the Shining Armor is a Terrible Dad 2024 Competition!

It has been a decade since Twilight Sparkle was crowned sole Princess, and Equestria is at peace.

The Crystal Empire, not so much. King Sombra is apparently unkillable, despite all efforts. He returns several times a year to be destroyed, leaving behind his horn and always swearing vengeance. The jaded Crystal Ponies, some literally jade, have grown used to their tyrant attempting to return. Princess Cadance rules with her husband Shining Armor, while their daughter Flurry Heart excels in school. All is well.

All seems well, until Cadance begins to suspect that something is wrong with her daughter after the latest battle with Sombra. Flurry quite literally walks off a blast of concentrated dark magic. What Cadance discovers will shake her family to the core and upend everything she thought she knew about her daughter.

Flurry Heart is evil. If Cadance cannot save her daughter, she must stop her before it's too late.

Flurry Heart tries to warn her father of the impending apocalypse. Shining Armor thinks his daughter has a lovely imagination.

My first attempt at writing a comedic(ish) story! Do be gentle haha. This is an entry into the Shining Armor is a Terrible Dad Competition! I don’t think there’s a worse thing a dad can do than cheerfully ignore the apocalypse, do you?

Flurry Heart has grown to love her play dates with her dad, but as she's gotten older, their adventures have gotten more dangerous, much to Cadance's dismay.

Flurry Heart, now going by Midnight Winter, is a brooding mare in the midst of her teenage years. Her parents don't understand her, and that's all that matters in her world.

Ever since they met, Anon has acted strangely around Discord. He's used to this, of course. Being the "Lord of Chaos" means that most creatures prefer to keep a safe distance from him. And for good reason! Reformed though he may be, it'd be foolish to lower one's guard around him.

Perhaps Discord isn't as good at reading emotions as he thought.
