When the changeling queen Aurora comes to visit Twilight Sparkle to discuss the future of ponies and changelings, the life style of Twilight and her friends has a bigger effect on the changeling than she could have imagined.

Ever since new princesses were crowned and born Celestia's been putting less and less effort in her figure and simply let herself go. Luna; being for a healthy lifestyle opts to tell her sister enough is enough. But the question isn't should she tell Celestia, but can she tell her?

Bored one evening, Discord suggests to Celestia that they spice things up by seeing who's best at doing the other's job: he'll handle keeping things harmonious, and she'll be there to throw a big ol' spoonful of chaos into the mix whenever she feels like it. To his surprise, she agrees to do it. He's certain he's got this one in the bag—after all, how hard can something as boring as harmony be?

He shouldn't have underestimated his opponent.

A world without chaos.

Such a place sounds absolutely lovely on paper, does it not? No unplanned events, no unexpected inconveniences, no unpredictability. Everything that a pony plans, they'll be able to do without being so much as a minute behind schedule. Surely, for ponies like Twilight, the ones that live and breathe off of organization, that kind of world sounds absolutely perfect for her. However, when chaos actually does disappear due to... things, it becomes very clear to her, and the rest of Equestria, that such a world is not an ideal one. In fact, it's grossly boring.

Fortunately—or unfortunately—there just so happens to be a lovely spirit of chaos who knows exactly what to do: Simply bring the chaos back. Of course, since he himself lacks his chaotic power, he'll need some help from a certain begrudging purple alicorn.

What could possibly go wrong? Neither of them know. After all, what's chaos without a bit of unpredictability?

Discord is reformed and now on the path towards becoming a productive member of society. To help him stay on the straight and narrow, Fluttershy begins to write letters to him, with the two quickly becoming pen pals. With their sharing of letters, Fluttershy begins to learn more about the conundrum known as Discord, while Discord learns what it truly means to be a friend.

Fluttershy is feeling a bit down after her critters have gone to sleep for the winter. Discord decides to lighten the mood in his own way. Obvious 40 Year Old Virgin reference.

Discord wants Twilight to hit him. Twilight thinks there has to be a catch. Set in the same continuity as my TNG crossover fics, between "The Princess and the Dragon" (and also "Discord's First, Last and Only Friendship Report") and "The King Who Would Be Man", but Discord being Q isn't relevant to this specific story.
