Thirty million years is a long time to spend stuck in place... it could drive a person insane... it doesn't help when that person was always mad because of what happened to them. It also doesn't help when they're not even human and are a monster.

Over the many years of its reign the monster had saved the planet dozens of times, from a hundred different monsters. But each time it had fought on against the others and killed them all... the only thing that dared to challenge it were the insects called humans. Even with their machines of mass destruction they couldn't kill it, so instead they locked it away in ice.

But now, its been over a million years since the humans had all died and they had left it in its icy prison, its anger kindling... waiting for its release. And it didn't care what laid outside its prison all it cared about was....

Revenge.

For a long time, a lonely soul has wandered the void, lusting for knowledge, craving something more than just a simple existence. He wants information. Data. Facts. He wants to know as much as he can, about anything he can. And he will stop at nothing to acquire it ... But when a strange new land is presented to him, prior to his foray into Runeterra, what will he discover about this place, and by extension, himself? Preliminary testing, has begun. Prep the subjects, for Vel'Koz has arrived.

Luna and Cadence are traversing Everfree Forest en route to the castle, looking to attend Twilight's housewarming party. They are stopped, however, by none other than the titular character! Will they persevere, or will the Black Knight triumph like always?

However, they're stopped by the bridge's new keeper, who won't let them pass unless they answer all of his questions correctly. Can the ponies do just that, or will they be subjected to eternal peril as a consequence for failing?

Note: This fic was not in any way, shape, or form inspired by S4E13 Simple Ways. I've had this story in development ever since the second half of 2013, believe it or not. With that said, I will be making some references to that episode in this story.
