The hat of Applejack is known by many. It makes the mare who she is, it really makes Applejack, Applejack. But how she got the hat is a question where few know the answer on. One day, Apple Bloom can't hold her curiosity any longer and just asks the simple question, 'How did you got your hat?'.

An idea born when a friend of mine gave me a link leading to the cover image, on which a big part of the story is based on. I just sat down for an hour and just wrote the story down, after some editing it was to my liking and, there it was.

Twilight Sparkle starts to develop strange and alarming symptoms after learning that Rainbow Dash helped her earn her cutie mark.

Shining Armor wants to know what his parents mean when they talk about his grandfather's "legacy". To do so, he ventures into the nearly untouched attic of his house.

Will he find the answer to his question?

Luna's transformation into Nightmare Moon was not gradual, oh no. In fact, the transition to having a heart full of contentment to one full of darkness took only a few minutes. It was just one, shocking fact that put her way over the edge.

Rainbow Dash wakes up to discover that something very important has been taken from her, something noticeable and humiliating. She tries to sneak into town without being noticed.

When her ailment is discovered by the Cutie Mark Crusaders, a certain orange pegasus helps Rainbow Dash discover that sometimes the greatest generosity comes in the smallest of packages...

...or so she thinks.

[A/N] This is random as hell. I hope you enjoy. And yes, the title is a pun on the book "The Ox-Bow Incident" by Walter Van Tilburg Clark.

Twilight Sparkle did a very bad thing, but instead of being banished and imprisoned, the Elements of Harmony blasted her to 'cure her of her evil' and ended up turning her into an Earth Pony. Now she's back home, trying to pick up her life where it left off and unlock the secrets of Earth Pony magic, assuming it exists.

Sequel/side story to Space Captain Pinkie Pie, but I'll try to make it comprehensible if you haven't read it.
