Daring Do's amazing, adventurous life has come to a complete halt. Ahuizotl has seemingly vanished and Daring Do now has nothing to write about. She's been on plenty of adventures, so she could probably just make one up, but she has other things on her mind. Like the last adventure she went on, for example. That was the last time she or anypony else had seen Ahuizotl, and for some reason it bothers her.

Fed up with sitting around and doing nothing, she sets out to find Ahuizotl herself. As she heads through the remote jungles looking for him, she starts to wonder if she's doing this for her fans or for herself. What she may find, however, is something nopony could have predicted.

Daring Do had been searching for the Winter Pearl, rumored to have incredible power. But, when it is stolen by a new enemy she would have to join forces with her old and bitter enemy, Ahuizotl.

Not too far into the future, Twilight Sparkle visits Queen Chrysalis, in response to a letter stating her intention to ask forgiveness for her crimes against Equestria.

Twilight Sparkle is stressed, for some very good reasons: it's only been a few weeks since she was moved to Canterlot Castle to assume control of the duties of a princess, and she's still getting used to the constant stream of paperwork; she's trying to figure out when and how she'll be able to see her Ponyville friends again; and, to top it off, her first day off from princess duty is the night of her first date. So, seeing her obvious stress, Twilight's one and only BBBFF Shining Armor decided to tell her how his life started down the road leading to his crowning Prince of the Crystal Empire...

Rainbow Dash is the best at many things: she can fly at speeds that most pegusi can only ever dream of; she's the only pegasus to ever produce a Sonic Rainboom (and live); she's the pony you can trust to always have your back in a pinch; she can turn any area in Ponyville into her own personal bed, from clouds and trees to rooftops and the rafters in the town gazebo. To say the least, Rainbow Dash is a mare of many talents, with an over-inflated ego to go with them.

One thing she isn't very good at, though, is letting her emotions show. For that, she's always needed her dad.

Despite the fairy tale-like circumstances surrounding their courtship (Beauty and the Beast is a popular reference made at dinner parties), their relationship is far from perfect: indeed, the combination of her overwhelmingly large dress orders and his frequent extended trips across Equestria as Celestia's personal envoy makes it seem as though neither one of them has any time for their significant other. Yet there is one key factor, one constant variable in their lives that will always be there to remind them of how much they love and care for one another, no matter what issues they face.

Spike and Rarity have been dating for more than two weeks now, and he still hasn't kissed her. Sure, there have been goodnight pecks on the cheeks, but never a kiss. But he's going to fix that tonight, whether the rest of him is ready for it or not. And little does he know that Rarity's anticipating it just as much as he is, if not more. All she wants is that one, perfect moment—the kind that she's read about so many times in her novels—with her drakefriend. That's all, really. And, knowing what a gentledrake he is, she's certain that's exactly what he'll give to her: a perfect, magical first kiss. She knows he wouldn't disappoint her. He never has.

Golden Delicious has always known his friend Starburst as a mare who enjoys pushing herself beyond her limits. For years, she's worked herself to exhaustion on her visits to Sweet Apple Acres, and for years, he's tolerated it with a smile. What used to be incidents that scared him half to death are now a part of his routine: he and Starburst will work, Starburst will faint from exhaustion, he'll carry her back to the farmhouse, he'll tell her the dangers of overexerting herself, and she'll kindly dismiss his advice and just do it all over again. It's a tiring and endless circle, but he's more than happy to go through it again and again, always being there to take care of her when she's "burnt out."

He's just not sure why.

What started off as a simple conversation between sisters quickly becomes eye-opening as Celestia soon learns some more about some of the events that transpired a thousand years ago, such as the true power of Sombra, and the real reason behind Nightmare Moon's creation.

Before he became the wicked spirit we know, King Sombra had been a kind king that had yearned for the well-being of his citizens. However, one thousand years ago, a series of events forced him to step forth into an abyss that would change him forever.
